“Mama..., Miguel... Mama...” Lora shouted.

Miguel ran back into the room to see that Camille’s eyes are open.

“She's awake Miguel.” Lora shouted immediately she saw Miguel.

Miguel quickly pressed a button on the wall close to her bed, and reached for his cell phone to call the doctor.

Few seconds later, a nurse came into the room to examine Camilla, and in about another few minutes a doctor came in followed by another nurse.

“Please wait outside.” The nurse said to Miguel and Lora who excused themselves almost immediately.

In what felt like ages to Miguel and Lora, the doctor came out followed by the two nurses.

“Congratulations Miguel, Camilla is back.” The doctor said smiling at Miguel, who smiled back in return.

“What happened? I mean what did you do to her? And who is this?” the doctor asked simultaneously again, looking from Miguel to Lora.

“Doc, this is Lora, Camille’s daughter.” Miguel said pointing at Lora. “Lora, this is Dr. Hamilton, he's been in charge of your mum's treatment.” He added, looking from Lora to Dr. Hamilton.

“Nice to meet you.” Dr. Hamilton said, extending his hands to Lora who shook it.

“The pleasure is mine.” She replied.

“You look a lot like Camilla, although your eyes look puffy.” Dr. Hamilton said to Lora, who smiled coyly at him.

“Have she been crying Miguel?” Dr. Hamilton asked, looking at Miguel, who nodded in response.

“I bet it's your tears that did the magic.” Dr. Hamilton said teasingly to Lora, who still smiled coyly.

“Yeah, that's right, maybe Camilla could not bear her tears anymore like I did doc, I was on my way out already when I heard Lora scream, you know.” Miguel said amid gladness.

“It's in deed a miracle, she’ll be alright soon.” Dr. Hamilton said.

Miguel worked Dr. Hamilton out, while Lora went back into the room the be with her mum.

“Did you find out who's behind the attack?” Lucio asked Rodrigo, standing up from his chair immediately Rodrigo entered his sturdy.

“Yes boss.” Rodrigo replied, looking at Lucio.

“Who is it?” Lucio asked him, almost immediately, looking into Rodrigo’s face.

“It was Don Pedro, boss.” Rodrigo replied, he could see the shock expression on Lucio’s face, it was the exact same thing he felt when he found out that Don Pedro had been the one who had sent his men to attack Lucio’s home last night.

“Don Pedro Verano?” Lucio asked, still looking shocked, because Don Pedro left his house a day before yesterday, when he and his son Alfredo had come to seek his daughter, Lora’s hand in marriage, he had suspected him, but some how he did not want it to be true.

Could it be that he is angry because Lora turned his son down? Lucio thought as he sat back down on his chair.

“Are you sure about this? How did you find out?” Lucio asked looking up again into Rodrigo’s face.

“It was from our Intel, in Don Pedro’s camp, according to him, Don Pedro had discovered few days ago, that you were the one who had gone to steal from him, the Intel said that an eye witness had reported this to Don Pedro.” Rodrigo explained.

“What!” Lucio exclaimed, standing up again from his chair. “You mean, Don Pedro had found that out, and still wanted his son to go ahead with marrying my daughter?” He asked, almost to himself.

“Yes, that's what it looks like boss.” Rodrigo said, feeling upset himself.

“What about Lora? Did you find her?” Lucio asked, after a short silence, turning to face Rodrigo again.

“No boss.” Rodrigo replied. “I looked around boss.” He added again and then paused.

“And?” Lucio asked impatiently, sensing that he had more to say.

“It looked like she's out of the city boss, I think she left yesterday.” Rodrigo replied.

“Did you check to see which place she has gone to?” Lucio asked again, tightening his jaw muscle and peering hard at Rodrigo, who also has his gaze on him.

“I have a hunch that she might be with Camilla now, boss,” Rodrigo told Lucio, still gazing at him, he could see how much he is hurting, loosing his mother and a daughter who probably left on her own in one day.

“How can she be with Camilla, she doesn't know where her Mama lives, and Camilla is not well to get her daughter.” Lucio asked getting furious at Rodrigo’s statement.

“I saw a security footage of Lora and a man who his identity isn't clear, go into a hotel in the early hours of yesterday morning, and the footage of her and the same man in the airport, few hours later yesterday, I guess he is one of Camilla’s men.” Rodrigo told Lucio who had a hard grin on his face.

“How do you know it's one of Camilla’s men?” Lucio asked, looking at Rodrigo, his face dark as ever, the last thing he wanted is for Camilla to have Lora, but if that should be the case, it didn't matter now, because all he wanted now is to make Don Pedro pay for what he has done to his mother.

“I am sure of it boss, when I saw the footage, I recognized the body structure and his movement, as I have seen that some where before, so I looked up the footage of a man the security guards had once told me came to look for you here in the mansion some days ago and found out the he is the same person.” Rodrigo explained looking at Lucio.

“Who is this man? How come I never heard of him?” Lucio demanded angrily.

“Boss, I called to tell you that day but you were busy, so when I heard he spoke with Mama Rosa, I decided it wasn't relevant.” Rodrigo explained again, a little cautious about Lucio’s angry look.

“And who is this guy?” Lucio asked again, furiously at Rodrigo.

“His name is Miguel Ramos, when I checked him out, I found out that he is one of Camilla’s men.” Rodrigo replied looking at Lucio.

He had found that Miguel Ramos means more to Camilla than just an employee, but he dare not say that to Lucio at least not now, Rodrigo thought.

Lucio paced up and down the study for a while. “So Lora is out of this city?” Lucio asked stopping to look at Rodrigo, with th a hard grin on his face.

“Yes boss.” He replied.

Lucio started pacing up and down the study again like one in deep thought, then stopped abruptly, and turned to Rodrigo.

“Make the preparations to burry my Mama, after that you prepare the boys, I am going to give Don Pedro a befitting reply, and please make it quiet, because I want to hit him where it hurts the most.” Lucio said to Rodrigo, who just stood silently taking his boss's order.

Lucio knew that since Lora is with her mum, she is in safe hands, he had just denied her the right to be with her daughter just to punish her for leaving him.

His only hope now is that Camilla regains consciousness and gets well because only that can ensure the safety of their daughter, he thought.

He had not planned to live his life the way he did, but as it is, one does not have total control of what happens in his or her life.

He had loved Camilla very much and had wanted to give her the love and family she desires but, he had failed to do that, instead he had cause her much more pain.

He had also wanted a good and happy life for his daughter, but greed get in the way, his only consolation now is that Lora had proven to be he and Camilla’s daughter because she has the same stubbornness he and Camilla has, and he is thankful that she had rejected Don Pedro and Alfredo’s offer to be married into their family.

He is going to make sure to destroy Don Pedro, if that is the last thing he will do, but first he needs to bury his Mama, the sudden death of Mama Rosa destroyed his will to live, and he cannot go on knowing someone was behind her death.

“Don Pedro must pay for taking my Mama like this.” Lucio said in a cold deadly kind of way to Rodrigo, who just bowed and left the study.

He needs to carry out Lucio’s instructions, and he need not ruin it this time or he would die a slow and painful death, because the look in Lucio’s eyes is one of those deadly look, he had never wished to see again.
