Chapter 46: Chapter 46
Lora slowly opened her eyes, she could feel the heat from the Sun Ray that penetrated through the slight opening of her window curtain on to her face.
She slowly turned sideways on her bed, turning her face away from the heat of the morning sun. For the past three days She have not cared whether She woke up late or not and not even her dad or grandma bothered to go to her room, as they know She is going through something.
Only the maids brought her meal to her room and leaves without saying a word to her and they would come back with another meal whether She touched the previous meal or not.
She laid still, staring into space, looking at nothing in particular and she can barely feel her body, neither did she feel the need to get up and do anything, she feels numb from crying too much that her eyes became dry and puffy.
Three days have passed already, and she still could not get in touch with her mum as her phone number could not be reached, and her dad and Grandma Rosa have refused to tell her anything useful about her mum or where to find her.
Marta who would have been of help to her is still grieving over her husband Antonio’s death. “Poor Marta.” She thought as she remembered her.
Marta has already left the mansion back to her house with her children and Alba went with them a day after Antonio's burial.
Thinking of Marta now, she wonders how she is doing, knowing the pain she would be going through for losing her husband, she can't help to imagine that, because of the pain she feels for not being able to talk to her mum.
Thinking of her mum, Lora suddenly became angry again, she could feel her blood boil when she remembered the look on her mum's face on the day of Antonio's burial, she looked like someone who have been denied her rights but up until this moment she have not called her and her phone have been switched off.
“Have she chickened out again? Just like she did before.” A voice in Lora’s head asked her as she thought that could be the case now.
In the past her mum switched off her cell phone some times and she guesses she does that whenever she doesn't want to speak to her even she wonder why, too.
“Have she decided to leave me again, because Papa said so? What about me? Would she not care to know how I feel? I am her daughter for God's sake.” Lora said inwardly again, pressing her lips together.
She slowly sat up on her bed, she is tired of this whole thing, she can't keep crying for a woman who obviously can't fight for her, she believes her mum has what it takes to fight her dad if he is really the one keeping them apart.
She had this notion in her head that her dad have been the one keeping her away from her mum after she witnessed how her dad brawled and dragged her mum away from Marta, asking her to leave and not show her face again, but she guess she is wrong because, if she truly missed her she would have called rather than shutting herself out like this.
Lora stood up from her bed, feeling a little energetic, she is done with the crying, she need to get out of here, and maybe she would go and see Catalina.
“Yes Catalina, I have to see her, maybe we can go shopping today to shake off all this sadness I am feeling.” She said as she remembered how much fun she had when Catalina took her out for shopping.
First she needs to freshen up and eat something as she hadn’t eaten properly for three days now, with this resolve, she went into her wash room feeling a little light heartened.

Lora arrived at Catalina’s house few hours later, the house seemed quite as if no one is at home. She had called Catalina’s cell phone earlier but couldn't reach her so she took a decision to still go to her friend’s house as she already feels the need to go out and clear her head.
She pressed on the doorbell but found that it wasn't ringing, she pressed hard again only to discover that the switch is broken.
“Oh no…” Lora muttered and stood still a little, glancing around and thinking of what to do next, then she decided to knock on the door, just in case and with one knock on the door, she found that the door is open.
“Is anybody home?” she called out as she peaked inside the house.
She opened the door slowly and went in when she had no response. They may be out and probably forgot to lock the door properly she concluded as she saw how quiet the house is.
Lora turned to leave the house when reminding herself that she was not supposed to be in someone else house like this, knowing that this was trespassing but suddenly she heard a small mourning sound coming from the hall way leading to Catalina’s room, or so She thought, deciding to ignore the sound.
She paused and listened again as she is not sure what she heard after she thought that she heard the sound again, for a brief second she heard nothing, she shook her head and turned to leave again when she heard the same mourning sound again.
She felt her feet stop, as the mourning sound increased this time, still coming from the hall way leading to Catalina’s room.
Lora turned and slowly followed the sound until she stopped at Catalina’s room door, she stood still by the door unable to believe her ears.
“What time are you expecting your parents to be back?” A male voice from the room asked. The male voice sounded so strange and husky to her but she thought she recognized the voice.
“Not until later this evening.” She heard Catalina reply in between her mourning, her voice also sounding a little strange.
Lora felt her feet stock to the ground as the combination of bodies clapping together and mourning sounds of both voices increased, she could neither move forward or backwards.
This is actually the first time she had heard such an erotic sound and she couldn't believe that it could come from Catalina.
Her friend can be anything but she didn't know that she can mourn like this from what she thinks might be going on in there, and to think she can do this in a house where she lived with her parents, she thought.
“You are so sweet darling.” Lora heard a familiar voice say to Catalina when the mornings have stopped, bringing her thoughts back to the present, and she could hear her friend giggle at the complement.
That's when it dawned on Lora what might be going on here. She felt her feet move as she slowly pushed the door open, what met her eyes was something she never would have believed in her wildest dreams.
“Lora!” They both exclaimed, surprised to see her there. Lora turning her gaze from Catalina to Alfredo, the pair is in their nude and Lora could not believe her eyes as they both scrambled to put on their clothes looking more shocked than she is herself.
“It's not what you think Lora.” Catalina said in a husk tone, still dressing up as quickly as she could.
Lora stood still, her both feet pinned to the ground, she could neither move nor speak.
“It’s okay Catalina, she's bound to find out anyways.” Lora heard Alfredo say as he dressed up himself, there was no sign of guilt in his tone.
“Stop it Alfredo.” Catalina said glaring at Alfredo, “She is my friend remember?” she added almost immediately.
“Stop what Catalina, it's time she knows the whole truth, don't you think?” Alfredo snapped at Catalina who only shook her head, gesturing for him to stop as she could see how hurt Lora was, she had let her emotions get the better of her and wished that she did not allow Alfredo into her house today but she could not do it because she misses him too and wanted him so badly, as he had wanted her.
Lora stood there speechless, turning her gaze from one person to the other.
“I’m sorry but I do not love you Lora, hanging out with you was a mistake, I only did that for my selfish interest Lora, it was all for my grades, the person I truly love is Catalina...”
Lora heard Alfredo say those words that she did not know how her feet that seemed stocked to the ground moved and she saw herself running out of Catalina’s house into the streets, tears clouding her vision, she could not stand and listen to his words anymore as her heart could no longer bear to hear any hurtful words.
She left the mansion to Catalina’s house because she wanted to free her mind from its burdens, only to hurt all over again.
She ran as far as her feet can carry and then suddenly stumbled and fell to the ground in a lonely street she could not recognize as hot tears clouded her vision even though some has already began to fall.
She knelt down there crying her heart out for what seemed like hours, she didn't know if the tears she cried are from betrayal of her boyfriend and girlfriend, or from the pain of not being able to contact her mum, or maybe a combination of all the troubles in her life, she thought, not caring about the reason behind her tears anymore.
Then all of a sudden she stopped crying but instead she started laughing out hysterically, from laughing hysterically she began to shout out her frustration into the air in the lonely street.
A few minutes later, she became quiet, like one who has just been cured of madness. She stood up and gathered herself together.
She would have to take her dad’s offer to send her out of the country as she felt that there was nothing here for her, the two people she thought she had and could run to when she needed comfort where fooling her, she thought, so it would be best for her to leave and this time she is not going to be the Lora people would play or toil with, rather she is going to be a changed Lora, and she would have to live the life of a billionaires daughter she truly is.
