Chapter 398: Chapter 398

Chapter 398 Rachel's Report

"Let's go" Leon told Rachel as he put down his glass.

Tina, however, took a glance at the remaining food on the table and sighed. "We were lucky that Fay hadn't asked us about the wine. If she did, she wouldn't be able to call us 'professionals' because we left her out of such good wine." She said as she glared at Leon.

Leon didn't have the courage to tell Tina how naΓ―ve she was, but he figured that he should let her find out how society works for herself.

When Tina saw Leon simply sitting on his chair while looking at the expensive wine, she couldn't believe her eyes. The money most likely came from Leon's salary, but after looking at how calm Leon was, Tina began to have her doubts.

Just then, Leon extended his hand out to Rachel and smiled. "I'll take you to the office, Rachel."

While Leon was talking to Rachel, Tina decided to look at the wine that Leon bought and put it in a bag. If it was an ordinary wine, she wouldn't have done an embarrassing thing, but she also liked the taste of the wine Leon bought, so she took it with her.

Leon noticed Tina as she put the wine in a bag, but he simply smirked and said nothing.

As soon as Tina followed the lovebirds straight out the restaurant, she noticed something that seemed to have caught her eye. "Leon, didn't you say that you were going to pay for the food we ate?"

"Yeah, why?" Leon looked at Tina, bewildered.

"I didn't see you pay for the food at all. What are you trying to do?" Tina said with a frown.

"You really do talk a lot." Leon said as he didn't bother explaining the little details. "I already paid for the food. You can't expect me to pay for a second time."

"When did you pay for the bill? I hadn't noticed."

All of a sudden, a Rolls-Royce car parked in front of them. Tina and Rachel were surprised, but Leon simply kept a straight face.

"Rachel, is this car supposed to pick us up? Also, isn't a Rolls-Royce car supposed to be for rich people? What is it doing here?" Tina asked, surprise written all over her face.

"Leon must have called him." Rachel said as she pointed at the person who was in the driver's seat. "That's Fort, you know?"

"Leon must have borrowed his boss' car just to make things seem fancier, then." Tina said with a pout. "Driving a Rolls-Royce is good and all, but smart girls like me won't be fooled by this nonsense!"

While Tina complained, Leon pulled Rachel into the car and closed the door.

Tina noticed that the car was about to start without her, so she was flabbergasted when she realized that Rachel and Leon wanted to leave her and ran to the car. "H-Hey! Wait for me!"

"I want you to drive for a while then let her in." Leon told Fort.

"That's not really necessary, Leon." Rachel frowned.

"Don't worry, it's to keep her fit." Leon smiled mischievously.

After ten minutes of running around and keeping up with the car, Leon finally let Tina in.

However, Tina was sweaty and angry. It was almost like she was a little girl who was going to throw a fit because she hadn't bought her favorite toy.

"Leon, you son of a bitch!" Tina told Leon.

Leon was laughing at Tina, though.

A few minutes later, Rachel arrived at the company that she was working for before four o'clock.

It wasn't too late, and her timing was just right, which relieved her.

"Let's go in together." Rachel told Leon with a smile. "I just want both of us to go in and have a look."

Leon simply stood at the door, but he was hesitant to come in. Not because the company was owned by the Carter family, but because they might recognize him and drag Rachel into a hell hole if they found that that she had a relationship with him.

"I'll just wait for you outside. Call me if you need anything." Leon told her.

"Well, I'll come out as soon as I report the leader about the good news."

The vice president of the company that Rachel was working in looked more feminine than manly. His name was Glenn. At the same time, he was talking to a middle-aged man with thin hair, whose name was Archer.

"Archer, I have a feeling that your subordinate won't make it." Glenn told Archer.

"Then does that mean we'll have to hire another person to do the job?" Archer asked.

"Precisely. However, if the head office won't give us the funds, it'll be a bit hard if she actually did her job, don't you think?"

"That's true, Mr. Glenn."

Glenn simply sighed. "Are you just going to agree with everything I'm saying, Archer?"

"I-I'm sorry, Mr. Glenn. There was nothing I could do by myself, so I told my subordinate that I'd give her a promotion and a raise if she did her job right." Archer hurriedly said.

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door.
