Chapter 365: Chapter 365

Chapter 365 The First Child of Texas

Leon heard his name being called. He looked around and saw nothing.

But once he heard it again, he caught the glimpse of Julia in need of help.

He rushed towards her as the light slowly illuminated her face every time he got nearer. Her once gentle and brave face has suddenly vanished. However, he was not surprised to see her this way.

He glanced at Julia as he watched her beg for his help. He was unsure of what was happening and did not want to move her in a way that would only cause her more harm.

"Mr. Williams, I'm dying. Please help me. I don't want to die!" she begged.

Julia was wailing as the pain started piercing more everywhere in her body. It was indescribable and Leon could not bear the thought that she was beseeching for mercy.

"It's already late. I warned you about that Pearl Necklace. You have to face the consequences that bore that jewelry."

Leon Williams reluctantly opened the golden mouth.

On hearing this, Julia Young became even more flustered as she trembled violently.

"Mr. Williams, I beg you to give me a reading. Look for a sign or a message to save me from this pain." She uttered in fear as she yearned for hope.

Leon Williams shook his head gently and said faintly, "There's no need to tell me. I can see from your face that you are born cheap, vulgar, beautiful but frivolous, and you were always destined to live a grand and wealthy life. However, trouble is your magnet" he stated.

Julia may have been blessed with fortune, but her character as a person stops her from attaining more gifts that fate wanted to bestow upon her. Julia's blindness and greed are what is causing the necklace to do this to her.

"I'll throw this Pearl Necklace away!" she screamed as she yanked it away from her neck. She then threw it away without hesitation. However, this did not make any changes upon her.

"It's too late. The evil spirit has invaded your body. Even if you threw the Pearl necklace away, and move out of the house, it would not spare your life" Leon said.

"Then I'm wasting my time with you, then." Julia sneered away from Leon as her stubborn look washed over the pain that was in her eyes. And even when she is closer to death, she could never bother letting her pride down.

"Is there really no way to save her?" Betty said as stood close to Leon.

"Yes, but with that attitude, she's not worth saving at all." He responded.

It is said that most people who are dying, would usually let go of their final words with so much goodness and kindness inside. However, for Julia's case, it was unchangeable. Only a miracle would be able to save her.

Betty nodded as her head continued running with thoughts and options to save Julia. She knew that her only hope was Leon. In her eyes, he became wiser in every situation that he had to deal with.

Still puzzled, Betty shifted her attention towards Leon's question, "Have you heard anything about John?" he asked. Although still confused with Julia's condition, it seemed as if his worry and care towards John was something that has been endlessly bothering him.

Thomas arrived and overheard the question.

During the days when John disappeared, Leon had kept his feelings hidden inside his heart. Thomas could not explain the emotions that he had felt when he witnessed Leon go through his silent struggle. But even though Leon masked it all away, Thomas knew that he had to do something.

"I'm sending someone to investigate, but my stronghold in J City, is understaffed, so it would probably take a long time." Thomas said.

"I'm looking into it too. I have a hunch that the Carter family had something to do with it. If not, they must have known something. I'm going to see if I could gain an explanation." Leon firmly mentioned.

"Mr. Williams, are you sure John's disappearance has something to do with the Carter family?" Thomas asked.

"I'm sure it was the Carter family who colluded with White Tiger to attack John. They tortured and held him hostage, until he got the chance to escape. However, his whereabouts remained unknown after that. I am guessing that they got the job done and buried him somewhere nobody else could find. But once I find out the truth, justice shall prevail." Leon said as he stared into nothing, but with perseverance all over his head to avenge John.

"Thomas, it looks like you'll have to wait a little longer before you go back to J City." Leon Williams said.

"When I came to Texas. I was invited by Owen Wibowo, but I did not come in vain. Getting to know you, a master, is the greatest achievement of my trip." He exclaimed.

Speaking of which, Thomas still had hoped to join Cloud Gate.

After around 5pm, Leon and Betty bid farewell to Thomas. They stood at the door of the hotel and looked at each other. "Come on, I'll take you home." Leon whispered to Betty.

"Aright." Betty nodded slightly. They both walked over to the loud silver Hennessy Venom GT and galloped away with all its horses towards the Rainbow Villa. After taking Betty home, Leon arranged for someone to investigate the whereabouts of John.

Sigrid, the housekeeper of the Carter family, was standing in front of Water Carter, the current successor of the Carter family. "Sir, you have locked down John's hiding area. If you bring enough men, you will be able to catch him." Sigrid said to his boss.

"Very well, hurry up and do it. I'm going to pry something out of his mouth!" Water said with so much rage. "Yes, my lord." Sigrid nodded and walked out of the office.

At this time, Cloudy Carter was holding a thread-bound book as he read it carefully and took notes at the same time.

When Water saw this, he shook his head in disappointment. "Cloudy, reading is good, but I'm worried that if you study all day you won't have the time to run the company."

Cloudy wondered, "Grandpa, if you think reading is good, why are you worried?"

"If you stay at home studying all day, it is enough to send someone crazy. In fact, you lack the courage that the people like us should have. Our family has been able to run through the business world of Texas for decades, relying on the spirit of resolve. Do you understand Cloudy?" he replied.

Water was satisfied with the eldest grandson in all aspects, but he just does not like his character and what he was aiming to become.

"As a matter of fact, I think studying is good." Cloudy said. "By the way, Grandpa, I donated a sum of money to the charitable foundation for the construction of public facilities in Texas." he closed the book and responded politely.

"Oh! Investing in charities like that would not turn your life around. It's better to invest in stocks or at least somewhere where you would gain some income." His grandfather replied.

Just before Water left, Cloudy reopened the book and made another note.

"Grandpa, it's you who don't understand!". He sneered under his breath.
