Chapter 366: Chapter 366
Chapter 366 Was This A Hellhole?
Cloudy had a good image in Texas.
He did charity projects often, which left a good impression from the citizens. He may be considered as an outlier of the Carter family, but he was the most popular one in the eyes of the townsmen of Texas.
Now, Cloudy was also keeping an eye on Leon.
But it should be not easy to guess the real identity of Leon even with his impressive IQ. He wanted to pry something useful out of John's mouth as well.
The day of the annual meeting of the Flying Group was very close.
When Leon got home, he glanced at the annual meeting planning book made by Hugo. He reviewed it first before he approved it.
Leon thought he should go out later when he's done with everything. It had been a long time since he had taken Rachel out for a dinner. After a while, Leon decided that he'll take Rachel out for a stroll later. He should take a bath first.
Leon remembered a good restaurant that served delicious food. He had come to eat there several times before. He would take Rachel there this time.
He was taking a bath when the phone he placed in the living room chimed a sound that meant he received a text message.
"Leon, Tobey said he wanted to apologize to you. He asked me if you were free tomorrow morning. He would like to make meet up." Was what the message said.
However, Leon did not read the message. After taking a shower and blowing his hair dry, he went straight to Rachel's place. He forgot to bring his cell phone with him.
Leon expressed his intention as soon as he arrived at Rachel's place. "Rachel, you haven't had dinner yet, have you? Come on, I'll take you out. I know a place with delicious foods."
He wanted to do what couples do with Rachel. Unfortunately, Tina was also at Rachel's residence. She instantly rolled her eyes the moment she saw him.
"What are you doing here again? You're so annoying! Stop disturbing my sister! "
Leon's eyes narrowed when he heard Tina's question.
Considering his relationship with Rachel, he didn't think there was something wrong with what he was doing.
"Your sister and I are a couple. Don't interrupt us. It's none of your business." Leon glared at Tina.
"How come it's none of my business? That's my sister. I don't want my sister to be involved with such a frivolous person who couldn't be trusted." Tina retorted.
"Tina, don't talk like that. Go and change your clothes. Let's go to dinner." Rachel scolded, interrupting their banter. She didn't like her sister's rudeness towards Leon, but she didn't exactly know what to do to make them get along.
"Dinner? With him? I don't want to go!" Tina resisted.
"Well, I won't force you. I'll bring you back some food if you want to stay home." Rachel compromised.
Tina wrinkled her nose. "Oh, I don't even want to see his face, let alone eat dinner with him. But for the food's sake, I'll go."
Leon glanced at Tina's reluctant expression. He felt a little bit annoyed but didn't want to say anything anymore to her future sister-in-law. To be completely honest, he didn't want to have dinner with Tina either. But Rachel cared for her sister a lot so Leon couldn't complain.
"Go away! My sister and I need to change clothes! No peeking!" Tina grumbled with a pout on her face.
Her exclaim surprised Leon. What did she just say? Peeking? Him? He wasn't such a dirty person!
Leon was indignant but he didn't want to bicker with Tina again. He walked to the door and waited for them to change.
Ten minutes later, the two sisters had changed their clothes.
Rachel and Tina had both changed into dresses that emphasized their long legs. The two walked towards Leon as if there was sweetness in the air.
The two sisters' appearance almost resembled each other, except that Rachel, the elder sister, looked more pure and gentle, while Tina looked more playful.
"What are you looking at? I'll gouge your eyes off!" Tina's originally playful and lovely face turned to an angry expression.
Leon was speechless for a while before he decided to ignore her. He reached out to Rachel and took her hand.
Tina became the third wheel in an instant.
Annoyed, Tina chose to change the topic. "Where is he taking us to eat, Rachel? It better not be on some roadside stall!"
Rachel looked at Leon with a gentle smile on her face and sweetness in her eyes. "He must have planned to take us to a good restaurant." She said confidently and turned to address Leon. "Today is not a holiday. Anywhere is fine, but don't spend too much money."
Tina grimaced at the two's show of affection towards each other. Oh, how she badly wanted to meet her destined one as soon as possible.
The three went downstairs where Fort was quietly waiting beside the car.
"Why is it him again? Why do you always call him when have to go somewhere?" Tina didn't doubt Leon's identity, but she was wondering why Fort was the driver every time.
"Well, he is a friend of mine. Besides, he is very meticulous in minding his own business. He doesn't pry a lot." Leon answered faintly.
"Oh." Tina slightly snickered. "So basically, your friends are all drivers. Was your circle of friends full of drivers as well?"
Fort, who was waiting quietly, was silent and grim.
That wasn't quite right.
His main job was to do anything possible to help his employer complete the tasks while the others were not as patient as him.
Tina surveyed the interior of the car as soon as they got in. "Which Volkswagen is this? The interior is good. I should be able to buy one after working for a year."
Leon and Rachel looked at each other when they heard this. There were faint smiles on their mouths, but they did not say anything else as it might embarrass Tina.
"Little girl, it looks like you earn an annual salary of one million dollar." Fort, who was quietly driving, said coldly.
"No, not that much. I earn 300,000 dollars a year." Tina answered.
"Then I don't think you can afford to buy this million-dollar car with your salary alone." Fort said as a matter-of-factly. After that, he said no more and continued driving quietly.
"Million? Don't be ridiculous. This car can't possibly cost a million dollar." Tina chuckled.
The atmosphere in the car went a little awkward. All three were silent except Tina.
"What's the matter? Why aren't you talking? Did I say something wrong?" Tina asked, puzzled.
Half an hour later, the car arrived to the old streets and alleys of Post Isabel.
"We're here." Leon announced to the sisters in the car.
After Tina got out of the car, she glanced at the place and was greatly disappointed.
The buildings here were all in the style of the 1990s and they looked a little old compared to the bustling centre of the town. The roadside barbecue stall was full of people and the people in the stalls were noisy. The small restaurants on the street was also bustling.
This place was one of the rare cities in Texas's that had no curfew.
"Why do we have to go somewhere far just to eat in such a crappy place? Leon, you're not really going to bring my sister and me to a roadside stall, are you?" Tina glared at him.
