Sitting timidly beside Rufus, Celine looked at the man who was smiling broadly at his relatives. He seemed happy.

If not for the fact that Celine would be leaving soon, she would have loved to love this man. His smiles brought flutters to her stomach. She feels happy whenever she sees him.

But she can't seem to forget the fact that Rufus works for the alpha who might want her life anytime because of the crimes of her family.

Though Celine knew the excuse sounds stupid but she had heard a lot about this ruthless Alpha. And Jasmine had to hurt his mate. A mate he had met after a long time. He almost thought he wouldn't have a mate anymore. And Jasmine was so bold to hurt her. If he really was ruthless as they say, he will surely want to wipe anything relating to Jasmine.

Even if he doesn't want to bother, what about his mate? What if she is the type that is vengeful? She might likely take it out on her as Jasmine's sister. She shuddered to think about it.

"What are you thinking about?"Rufus masculine voice whispered in her ears. She felt a tingling sensation all over her body. I really hate this mate bond, she thought to herself.

"Nothing", she replied curtly.

Mrs Edmund walked up to her with two other women who were dressed flamboyantly. They looked more like clowns than high class women with all the paintings on their faces and the bright clothes on them. They sure don't know how to dress. Celine tried very hard to suppress her laughter which was threatening to come out.

"Karen, this your daughter in-law is surely gorgeous. She looks really pretty. How I wish I had a daughter in law like her too. She will surely give us cute babies' ', one of the women rants as she draws closer to Celine. Her heavy perfume rushed into Celine's nose.

"Yes, she sure is pretty and she has hips that can give children. Karen, you are surely lucky", the other woman said.

"But Karen, she looks really familiar. I really can't remember where I have met her", the first woman said, stealing a glance at the other woman.

"What are you ladies talking about? How can she be familiar? Where have you seen her?", Mrs Edmund asked.

"I think she looks like the daughter of the Davis family. You know, the one that hurt the Alpha's mate", the first woman said looking at Celine whose complexion has changed drastically.

"Did you women come to welcome MY MATE or did you come to find out about her family?", Rufus asked in anger.

"We spoke out of turn. We are very sorry, Rufus", the women quickly apologized when they saw he was getting angry.

"It's Beta Rufus….not Rufus. I don't know who invited you here but I don't want to see either of you. You can show yourself the way out, now!", He bellowed at the women.

"Son…", Mrs Edmund wanted to say something but Rufus cut her off.

"Mother, I don't want to see these people anywhere near this place", Rufus said to his mother.

"It's okay, son. Don't get yourself worked up for nothing", Mrs Edmund said as she glared at the women.

The women were shaking in fear at the angry look on the Beta's face. They made an excuse and scurried out of the ceremony. They don't want to be punished. They knew Beta Rufus was the right hand man of the Alpha of the Pack and also his best friend.

After the women left, everyone resumed what they were doing before. The music was still on and the young girls were dancing as they swayed their hips. They approached Celine to dance with them too.

Celine had wanted to refuse but the girls didn't take no for an answer as they dragged her to the dance floor. She had no choice but to dance with them.

Everyone could tell she was a very good dancer as she danced gleefully to the music playing. Beta Rufus was enthralled by her dancing. He never knew she could dance very well. Actually, he doesn't know anything about her.

The celebration was at his highest when a servant ran in to whisper to Beta Rufus. He looked shocked before he recollected himself and called his mother.

His Grandfather was also present. Everyone was surprised to see the rarely seen former Beta of their Pack. Beta Rufus' father had died alongside the former Alpha and Luna. They quickly rushed to the door to welcome the Alpha who suddenly came without prior notice.

Beta Rufus couldn't believe the alpha would grace his mate's welcoming ceremony. He felt honoured. As he was about to go to the front with Celine, he saw her looking pale and stiff.

He understood what Celine was afraid of. He knew she was afraid of the Alpha.

He went closer to her and squeezed her hand. Then, he bent down and planted a kiss on cheek.

"I assure you, Alpha Jax is not who you think he is. He is way different and I can assure you, he won't even hold you guilty", Beta Rufus said.

"How are you so sure? Jasmine hurt his mate. My younger sister hurt his mate and he arrested her including my father, Rufus", she said with a shaken voice.

"Listen to yourself. He punished your sister and father because they were guilty. You are not your sister, Celine. I assure you, okay? Just trust my

Celine nodded reluctantly as she followed him outside. She just wished Rufus was right.

Aurora got into the car feeling exhilarated. She had been cooked up in the mansion for some days now coupled with the pregnancy cramps. It's been very frustrating for her these days.

But she wondered when Rufus got married and when did he get his mate? Who was her mate? She glanced at Jax who was resting his head backwards in the car. She wanted to ask Alpha Jax but he obviously seemed uninterested in the topic.

They drove silently for thirty minutes before the car entered a beautiful spacious compound. There was a mansion in the middle of the compound and the back was full of trees. The trees were of different types and sizes. Behind the building, it looked like there was a forest hidden in it. It was so beautiful and serene.

Aurora took a deep breath as she inhaled the fresh air rushing to her lungs.

The car stopped at the entrance of the house. Their driver got out of the car so he could open the car door for them. As they were about to get down from the car, they noticed a servant coming out of the house. But before they could grasp anything, the servant had run back inside. Aurora was surprised at the servant's reaction. She couldn't understand why the servant ran away on seeing them.

"Why did he run back into the house? Is something wrong?", She asked looking perplexed.

"It seemed he went to inform them of the Alpha's presence. They will likely flock out very soon", he replied smiling. He walked close to her and covered her with his coat.

He whispered to her," It's cold, sweetheart".

"Oh! So that's why he ran off. Anyways, thanks for the coat. It's really chilly out here", she said, wrapping the coat tighter.

"But I can get you warmer. We can go back inside the car, without the driver", he replied with an evil grin.

Aurora glared at him. He is so shameless! But it seems Alpha Jax hardly comes here. Well, it's understandable because he is the alpha, after all.

"Come on sweetheart, let's go inside", he said as he smiled at her fierce look. His mate is so cute.

As he led her towards the building, his driver turned the car to the parking lot. But before they could take another step, several people who were dressed up flamboyantly came out to welcome them including the newly wedded couple.

Beta Rufus was holding his mate's hands with smiles all over his face. It seems he can't take his eyes off her. He seemed so in love with her. Aurora scanned the lady beside Beta Rufus. She looks extremely beautiful with a beautiful pointed nose that brings out her features. She looks curvy too with the gown that clung to her body. Aurora must confess that she is one hell of a beauty.

But the lady seemed stiff and…pale. Aurora knew she had never had any encounter with the lady but why does she look familiar? And she was looking very frightened. But there is something really familiar about her. She reminded her of someone but she really can't say who.

Aurora shoved that thought aside as she followed Alpha Jax towards where the people were gathered. She really hates these parties but she really needed fresh air…and she just had to get used to it.

I guess I have to get used to being around people, I am after all, the Alpha's mate, Aurora thought to herself.

Aurora smiled broadly when she got closer to the people. They were all staring at the alpha and his mate. Some of the young ladies who had their eyes on the alpha looked at Aurora jealousy. Some even secretly wished Aurora could just disappear. But it's very impossible now that she was already pregnant with the first seed of the alpha. They wondered whose family she was.

Even some of the mothers couldn't help but feel disappointed that their daughter was not chosen as the future Luna. But some random girl just came out of nowhere. It was really heartbroken. How can someone unknown carry the future Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack?

Mrs Edmund scanned the people walking towards them. They looked really good together. The Alpha's mate was very pretty with big round eyes that looked innocent yet alluring. Her son had told her about the girl but she never knew she was this beautiful.

Mason who was standing with the people smiled at Aurora who was holding the alpha tightly. He was excited when he remembered Aurora was pregnant with the Alpha's child. His cousin was looking more beautiful than the last time he saw her.

When the couple got to the entrance, Alpha Jax smiled at the couple and gave his blessings. He hugged his Beta as he whispered in his ears.

"How dare you get married before me? I will definitely punish you, Beta Rufus", Alpha Jax said threateningly.

Beta Rufus laughed and whispered back," Did you forget, you got your mate before me? Let's just say I was quicker and smarter than you".

"Sorry to burst your bubble, you were neither quicker nor smarter. It seems you are still unaware that you are going to be a big uncle soon", Alpha Jax said as he chuckled softly.

Beta Rufus was confused about what Alpha Jax just told him but before he could ask him further, Alpha Jax had already withdrawn from him. He was smiling mischievously.

Beta Rufus Grandfather, Grandpa Edmund, came forward to greet Alpha Jax also. But the young Alpha hugged him tightly instead.

"You look so charming, Grandpa Edmund. Please give us the young ones a leeway", Alpha Jax joked with the old man.

"I have told my wife several times that I am still as handsome as when we first met but she keeps denying it. Come here, Gracie. Did you hear the alpha now?", Grandpa Edmund said beaming with smiles.

"Grandma Edmund, why won't you agree to grandfather's words? You both are looking very good compared to us youngsters", Alpha Jax said, turning to hug Grandma Edmund.

"Don't mind him, son. He just wants to show off", Grandma Edmund said as she glared at her husband.

"Grandpa, Grandma. Please let's go inside so the alpha could sit down before you start asking him your barrage of questions", Mrs Edmund cautioned them before opening the part for the couple to go in.

Beta Rufus glanced at his friend again. Alpha Jax was looking very happy and seems to be in a good mood. He wondered what Jax meant by he was going to be a big uncle. Something dawned on him as he stared at Aurora who was tightly wrapped up because of the cold. Could she be….?

Alpha Jax looked at his friend who had suddenly understood his words. He smirked at him before sitting down on the chair reserved for him and Aurora.

The dancers who were dancing before started dancing again as the alpha sat down. After some few minutes, Aurora, who was tired of sitting down, whispered to Jax that she needs to get some fresh air. He wanted to follow her but she refused. He reluctantly agreed after signaling one of the secret guards to look out on her.

Aurora walked out of the ceremony to get fresh air. She saw a beautiful garden with fragrant flowers. She decided to relax there. She closed her eyes as she took in the fresh air.

"Can…can I have a word with you, please?", A voice brought her out of her reverie. The voice sounds shaken.

She opened her eyes to see Rufus' mate staring at her in shame and…fear. Why was this lady looking at her like that? She knows she has never come across her even though she looks very familiar. Aurora couldn't help but beckon on her to come closer.

Back at the party, when Celine saw Aurora going out, she excused herself too. She really needs to talk to her. She doesn't want Aurora to think she came for revenge. It just happened to be that she was Rufus' mate and she will be leaving him soon.

"Okay, you can sit down. Let's talk", Aurora said.

Celine sat down meekly with tears rolling down her eyes. She didn't know how to start apologizing on behalf of her sister.

"I…I…am really sorry. I really don't know what to say but I am really sorry", Celine managed to say.

Aurora was a little confused. She had never met her before, she was sure of it. But why is she apologizing? She looked at the crying woman again.

"I really don't know what you are talking about. Why are you apologizing to me, Miss? Did you get the wrong person?", Aurora asked.

"I know you don't know me but all I want to say is that I am very sorry for whatever my family has done to you. I…I…I am Jas…Jasmine's elder sister", she said, still looking down.

Aurora was confused at the name but when she realized who the lady was referring to, she grew stiff. She happened to be Jasmine's sister. No wonder she looked familiar. But, she really doesn't have a grudge against her. She only had a grudge against Jasmine.

"Miss, tell me something. Were you involved in whatever Jasmine had done to me? Is that why you are apologizing?", Aurora asked calmly.

"No…I swear, I even tried to discourage her from going further with the alpha when I heard he had found his soulmate. I.. I really tried but that's not an excuse. The fact remains that my sister tried to kill you. And…I will leave very soon. I don't want to cause trouble for people around me", Celine said looking distraught.

"Miss…"

"My name is Celine", she said, still looking down.

"Celine, your sister tried to kill me, not you. You don't have to feel guilty about it. She will be the one to pay for her crimes, not the innocent", Aurora said.

Celine was surprised at Aurora's words. She can't believe Aurora was this big hearted. She raised her head to look at the girl closely. Aurora was smiling at her.

"Miss Aurora, you…you don't have a problem with the fact that I am Jasmine's sister?", Celine asked.

"Like you just said, you are Jasmine's sister not Jasmine. I do have a problem with Jasmine and whoever that is on her side. And I won't hesitate to deal with them but as long as you are not on her side, I don't have the right to judge you harshly", Aurora explained.

"Miss Aurora…I am really grateful!", Celine said with a sigh of relief.

"Celine, you said something about leaving? I don't get you", Aurora asked after Celine had calmed down.

"Actually, I am afraid of the Alpha. I…I really don't want to leave Rufus but I don't want him to have issues with the alpha because of me", Celine explained.

"I don't understand. How can Rufus have issues with Jax because of you?", Aurora asked.

"You know because of what Jasmine and my father did to Alpha Jax was very angry so he decided to punish my family. I am afraid that if he finds out I am Jasmine's sister, he might decide to punish me too", Celine explained.

Aurora understood what she was saying. Would Jax really punish her because she was Jasmine's sister?

Aurora didn't know what to say to that because she really wasn't familiar with Jax's character yet. If he can murder her father, killing a whole family whether they are guilty or not would be a piece of cake for him.

But leaving Rufus would make him heartbroken. She knew Celine was a nice woman but she didn't know how to convince her to stay. Maybe she could talk to Jax to forgive Jasmine's family.

"Celine, you don't need to leave. I believe Jax won't hold you responsible for whatever happened between me and Jasmine", Aurora said trying to convince herself too.

"Thank you, Miss Aurora", Celine said gratefully but she doubted if he would really forget.

However she was grateful towards the Alpha's mate. If only there wasn't a grudge between her sister and her, maybe they might have been good friends.

She smiled gratefully at Aurora before getting up to leave. The Alpha is surely lucky to have her as his mate.
