Chapter 50: Chapter 50
Aurora drove the car slowly as she remembered her conversation with her mother some few minutes back. She was still angry. She never believed her mother could say those words.
She had started a conversation with her mother when they got to the kitchen to prepare their lunch.
"Mother, do you trust me?"Aurora asked her mother as they cut the vegetables. Her mother had stopped cutting when she heard Aurora's question.
Her mother's piercing look made her change her mind but there was no going back. She had to talk to her. Though she wasn't going to delve into all the details, she needs to prepare her.
"Aurora, what is the matter?"Her mother asked, looking a little worried. What is this her daughter up to again?
"Mother, I will explain everything to you but do you trust me?", She repeated her questions.
"Aurora, you are my daughter. I gave birth to you even if everyone threw their back on you. I will always stand by you. I don't care if you are right or wrong in their eyes. All I care about is your well-being. Remember this sweetheart, I trust you", her mother said looking deep into her eyes.
Aurora teared up listening to her mother. She dropped her knife and embraced her mother tightly.
"Mom, why do you have such love for me? I am overwhelmed by your constant love and affection for us all", Aurora said in tears.
"I am a mother. A mother had all the love in the world to give to her children. You will understand when you have your own children", her mother said.
"I love you Mom", Aurora said as she held her mother tighter.
"I know sweetheart. Now, talk to me", her mother said.
"Mother, I have found my father's killer. I want to take revenge", Aurora dropped the bombshell as she looked at her mother.
Aurora felt her mother tightened her grip on her as different emotions appeared on her face. She looked hurt…and sad. She caught her mother as she nearly fell down.
"Mother…"
"Aurora, what have you been doing all these while? Were you putting your life at risk just to find your father's killers? I told you to let bygones be bygones. Aurora let go off the hate", her mother said as she looked pale.
Aurora was surprised at her mother's words. How could she forget those people that killed her husband brutally?
"Mother, how could you say that? They killed your husband! My father! We had to watch him be killed brutally. Maya had nightmares for months. Mother, how could you just let go?"Aurora asked, shaking her mother's shoulder.
"Aurora, listen to me. You have to let go. Don't go for any revenge. Some things are best left untold. Aurora, please don't do anything you will regret", her mother tried to convince her.
"If there is anything I will regret, mother, is if I don't get my father's killer. Mother, I am here to tell you to go with Craig once he comes here for you. Don't argue, go with him. For Maya's sake", Aurora said as she started fuming in anger.
She doesn't want to get angry at her mother but she doesn't understand why her mother was so against her revenge. But she won't give up because she wants her father to rest in peace.
"Aurora, please listen to me. Don't go ahead with what you want to do. Please…", she held Aurora's hand but she brushed it off.
Aurora couldn't stand the anger building in her, so she ran out of the house. She got into her car and zoomed off.
She doesn't care about what her mother said. She will definitely do what she had been planning all along.
***********
Sarah looked broken as she watched her daughter running away. She really wished to tell her everything but she wants her to remember her father just the way he has always been in her mind.
How can she tell Aurora what really caused her father's death?
She had kept this secret in her heart two years before his death when she found out a big secret about the man she had been married to for years.
But, she wanted a perfect father figure for her daughters and… she had promised him not to let their daughters know anything.
But now, what she had hidden deep in her heart was about to make her daughter do something grave.
All she wanted was for her daughters to live peacefully. She had been extremely happy and fulfilled when her daughter finally got her mate. She thought Aurora was happy. She never thought she still harbored the feeling of revenge.
She won't let that happen
She won't allow her to do harm to anyone. She can't afford to lose her daughter. Aurora seems to forget that those people are very dangerous.
Sarah made plans to discuss with Alpha Jax. Maybe he could convince her daughter.
***************
Aurora decided to just go and meet Craig since she had been able to leave the mansion. Alpha Jax might still think she was at her mother's place.
Craig had moved away from his previous apartment. Though, this apartment is closer to the creek. He had told her he wishes to stay in the Pack but she refused. She had to explain her reasons. That's how he had been helping her make preparations.
Aurora stopped the car close to Craig's apartment before walking down. She had already knocked on the door before she heard some ambiguous voices coming out from the one room apartment. What could Craig be up to?
Craig is really shameless, she thought as her face became red.
She decided to wait for a few minutes more. But it was too late as Craig must have heard the knocking. He opened the door after a few minutes. He was obviously sweating. Aurora threw him a disgusted look. She wondered when he would stop all these escapades.
Craig didn't mind as he gave her a wide grin. He didn't let her in as he gently closed the door behind him. Then he flashed her a bright smile.
"Hey darling, I didn't know you were coming", Craig said with a chuckle.
"Yeah right. So I should tell you so I don't catch you doing your escapades right? Craig, you need to stop and stick to one person", she advised looking at his disheveled hair.
"That person would have to make me fall endlessly in love", Craig responded as he drew her to their usual spot at the creek.
Craig took out a pack of cigarettes and was about to light one when Aurora took the whole pack and threw it into the creek.
"Hey! I told you to quit already. You have to stop", she cautioned.
"Well, it's really not my fault. I had to keep my sanity after what I went through in your mate's torture room", Craig countered.
"Craig, I am sorry. I know you suffered because of me. I am really sorry, okay?", Aurora pleaded.
"It's okay, Aurora. I don't blame you. You came earlier to collect the stuff?", He asked, changing the story.
"Yeah, this is the only chance I have to come here. You know how Jax is", Aurora answered.
"Yeah, I know his temper very well. You don't need to remind me of the last time", he said as he shivered unconsciously.
Craig wouldn't want to be caught in that devilish Alpha's anger. The last time in the cell room, he was scared out of his wits. And…before he left, he also heard how they brought two people to the cell, he couldn't forget the agonizing tortures of that young girl and her father.
That was why he insisted on staying close to Aurora. He fears for his friend. That Alpha is truly the god of death. His punishments are really dehumanizing.
"Craig, have you finished with all your preparations?"
"Yes, Aurora. I have their passport and I have arranged a temporary accommodation for them", Craig replied.
Aurora wanted to say something but she was hesitating. Craig was looking at her.
"What is it, Aurora?", Craig asked looking concerned.
"Craig, I don't seem to understand my mother", she said looking confused.
"What happened?"
"My mom…she doesn't want me to take revenge", she replied.
"What? But why? Did she tell you why?", Craig asked.
"Strangely, no. She didn't say but she persisted that I should forget about everything. Craig, I really don't get it. How can a wife not wish to punish her husband's murderer?", She asked looking confused and angry.
"Give her some time, maybe she's afraid of losing you. Remember, she is still mourning the loss of her husband. Maybe she is afraid of those mafians", Craig tried to console her.
"I guess it's true. I understand. Thanks Craig, you always have a way to make me feel better", she said hugging her bosom friend.
Now, she feels much better. She can finally go and prepare for her revenge.
