Chapter 38: Chapter 38

Craig heard the squeaky sound of the door. He thought they must be bringing his meals. It's a bit late today. He doesn't really know but he had been feeling a little uneasy since yesterday.

Though Craig had been kept a prisoner but he had been treated very well after that day he confessed. The only thing that puzzles him is the reason they haven't released him yet. Could it be that they were waiting for the right time to kill him?

These people are not humans and they might do whatever they want, including tearing him into pieces. Craig wonders if they eat human flesh. That thought alone sent shivers down his spine.

No, he shouldn't be thinking about that. If they eat human flesh, does it mean Aurora does too? He shook his head so hard to drive those horrible thoughts away. He was having a headache already. He took the water can beside him and gulped down all of it.

Craig was certain these people did not want to kill him but he wondered why they still kept him in another place. Another thing he worried about was Aurora. Where was she?

Was she captured by these men? But if she was captured, she would have been brought here. Was she…dead? He dreads to think about it.

"Listen, man. Our Alpha would come around later. You had better behave yourself.", The guard who opened the door warned sternly.

"Alpha? You mean the ruler of your pack? Like an almighty god or something?", Craig asked.

"I see your friend told you a lot about us", the guard said.

"Not much but I never believed her. She never wanted to be part of you anyways", Craig said calmly.

The man motioned Craig to follow him. He was led to a room in another of the Warehouses. It was more like a cell. It has glasses surrounding it but unfortunately, you can't see anything outside.

"Why are you keeping me here? What are we doing here? ", Craig asked in panic.

When the guards saw how Craig was terrified and shaking, they softened their attitude. They walked up to him and patted him gently on his back.

"Don't be afraid. Just remain calm and pitiful. We are going to perform a little act on you later. If you act it out well, you might likely go back home today", the guard said as he brought out some stuff.

"Okay", he nodded.

He watched as the guard worked on his face for almost fifteen minutes. After the guard was done. He switched off the lights.

Then everywhere went pitch black.

Though Craig was afraid, he trusted the guards who had been responsible for him since they brought him here. He was well treated though he missed going outside. His only main concern had been his brother and Aurora. His brother has been well taken care off.

Craig was willing to stay here because of another thing again. The guys here are fucking hot! They all looked like models. If only he wasn't a captive here.

Soon the sound of a pulling car was heard at the car garage. It must be the alpha.

************

Alpha Jax drove at a high speed along the highway that connects his pack to the human world. After driving for more than thirty minutes he got to a fence area.

He pressed a button in his car and the gate slowly opened. He drove as the gate closed by itself again.

Inside the huge compound, there were several rooms which looked like human cells while some had silver bars around it. Aurora wondered what they were doing here.

Did he want to lock her up here? She looked at him wide eyed. But, Alpha Jax kept driving along the narrow driveway leading to a secluded building made with glasses.

He stopped the car and got down. Aurora refused to come down. How can she? What if he imprisoned her? Afterall she once stole something from him.

"Get down Aurora", Alpha Jax ordered impatiently.

"No, I won't get down", she replied adamantly.

"Don't waste my time, you better get down or I'll pick you up myself", he threatened

"Do…do..do you want to put me in prison?", Aurora asked, stuttering.

"Who told you that? Why would you even think about it?", Alpha Jax asked a little amused", now get down before I totally lose my temper"

Aurora threw him a deadly glare before opening the car door. She was visibly shaken but had to brave up and trust this devil's words.

As they walked slowly towards the glass room, Aurora began to see the image of a man tied with a bloodied face.

Who was this man? She asked within herself until they stopped at the front of the room. Then she saw him clearly.

"Craig!!!", She shouted his name. She immediately turned to look at Alpha Jax.

"Why did you keep him hostage? What had he done to you? I am the one that stole from you not Craig. Please let him go", Aurora didn't mind begging as she started weeping.

Alpha Jax looked at her crying over another man. He wanted to console her but he resisted when he remembered why he came here in the first place. He was also jealous of Craig. How can his mate be crying over another man?

If not that this man was a bosom friend of Aurora, he won't think twice before he snap the man's neck off.

"I will release him this instant but you have to promise me something", Alpha Jax said looking straight into her eyes.

"I promise you anything. He is my only friend and if anything happens to him, I will never forgive myself", Aurora responded with a heavy heart.

"Good. Remember your words today. You promised", Alpha Jax said with a smirk.

"You haven't told me what I will be doing,'' Aurora asked.

"Well, it's simple and straightforward. You have to promise me that under no circumstances should you ever mention Rejecting me or going out of the pack. If you do, I will not only kill him", Alpha Jax threatened.

"But I will also make life unbearable for your mother and sister that they would beg to be killed to end the suffering. If you make me suffer by rejecting me, I will make your suffering a thousand fold. Trust me, you don't want to get on my bad side", Alpha Jax concluded.

"You are a bastard. An evil person! You wouldn't dare hurt my mother and sister. I will kill you!", Aurora screamed as she shook in anger.

"You are welcome to try. Think about it and give me an answer now. If you reject my deal, he dies this instant", Alpha Jax said pointing at Craig.

"Don't you dare touch him"

"What's your answer?", Alpha Jax pressed.

Aurora looked at Craig with his bloodied face.

"Yes, I agree to always stay by your side, never to leave in exchange for the protection of my friend and family", Aurora said as a drop of tear fell from her face.

"Good. Let's go back", Alpha Jax said smiling.

"I want to speak to him", Aurora said to Alpha Jax", please, I need to talk to him".

"Not…"

"I won't spend much time. I just want to see him once more. It's not like you can't see me", she quickly added.

"Alright. Five minutes but give them some time to take him to a more conducive place", Alpha Jax said as he motioned on one of the guards to instruct him. He nodded and quickly left.

Aurora narrowed her eyes at the guard who came to escort her in. The uniform looked extremely familiar. Where had she seen this uniform? She was still thinking about the uniform when the guard came back.

"Follow me, madam", the guard said cutting into her thoughts. She shoved those thoughts at the back of her mind.

Aurora was anxious to meet Craig after all these while. Even though it was just a few weeks ago, it felt like years.

Would Craig still be angry at her? She missed him so much. But she felt more guilty towards him. She caused his sufferings. If she wasn't friends with him, he won't be caught here and treated like a slave.

She missed their happy moments together. He was her only friend.

When they got into the room, everywhere was dark. You can't see anything outside.

"I can't stay in the darkness. I need light", Aurora said. The guard nodded and switch on the light.

There was Craig. He didn't look bloodied like before but rather he looked well shaved and well taken care of. His eyes were closed but didn't look hurt. How did he change so much?

"Craig…", Aurora called out softly.

Craig heard that extremely familiar voice. He thought he was dreaming. He opened his eyes. He wasn't dreaming. It was really Aurora.

"Rora, sweetheart", Craig cried out as he got up to embrace his friend.
