Aurora banged on the door for a very long time with no one coming to her aid, she gave up and walked to the bed. She lay down on the fluffy bed. Her tears soaked the pillow. She looked pitiful as tears stained her beautiful face.

Aurora never thought her life would turn upside down if she came here if not, she would never agree to her mother's request.

She would rather die in the hands of those mafias than be treated like this. She hated her life more. Why does it have to be her?

Firstly, her father died leaving her, her mother, and her sibling alone in this merciless world. Not only that, her mother fell ill and the burden of catering for them fell on her.

It's not like she wasn't a graduate. She graduated with a very good grade, she was one of the best students of her time. Her school was one of the best in that area.

But after her father's death, everyone withdrew from them including her father's friends and business associates. Only Mrs. Avery, her mother's friend, stayed by them.

Some even made lustful advances towards her. Her mother was not left out as they promised to help her if she just agreed to a night with them.

Her mother was so furious that she slapped one of them. That man vowed to make Aurora and her family pay a heavy price.

They became penniless after they took away everything from them except for the house. But that house isn't certain too because her father had used it as collateral.

The bank had already sent the last notice to them some few weeks back. They may likely come any day to lock up the house. That's why she decided to look for a job so she could gather money for them to move to any apartments even if it's in the slums. Unfortunately, she couldn't find one because she had no connections.

She never had the intention to steal but she had to when she saw her younger sister treated badly for staring at a little boy who was munching a piece of sausage. Her sister had wandered out of their house in search of food.

When she left for job hunting that morning, there was nothing at home just like the previous night. She had been happy when they called her to come for an interview. She quickly got up, took a quick shower, and dashed out without thinking about anything.

Unfortunately for her, there was no interview because the owner of the company decided to use his cousin's girlfriend at the last minute. They didn't even hide the fact that what they did was unethical.

Aurora had no choice but to go back and search for more jobs. She even forgot that it was getting late already. As she was walking, thinking about her life she heard a woman scolding someone.

"Go away, you piece of trash! Don't contaminate my son's food. You are full of fleas", the woman was shouting angrily.

She wanted to walk away but then she heard the voice that made her stop walking. That was Maya's voice.

She was job hunting nearby but as usual, she was turned away. As she was returning home, this was the scene that met her.

"Ma, please. I just need a little sausage. I haven't eaten since yesterday night. I will surely pay you back if my sister finds a job", Maya begged with tears as she held onto the woman's skirt

The woman was so infuriated that she pushed Maya away. Due to the force used by the woman, the woman's son dropped his sausage by mistake. A piercing cry rang out from the boy's mouth.

As for her sister Maya, If not that she was around and quickly rushed to hold her up, Maya would have been seriously injured.

"Sister Rora!" Maya cried out in relief.

Aurora glared at the woman who did not look remorseful. Instead, she started raining abuses on them. Her son who dropped his sausage pointed at Maya.

"Momma, she dropped my sausage. My sausage is gone", the son wailed loudly.

"Ma, I didn't even touch him or the sausage. Sister, I didn't touch him", she said, holding back her tears.

"You must pay for the spoiled sausage before you can dream of taking your filthy sister out of here. I will arrest both of you if you don't pay", the woman said raising her voice", help! This girl and her sister want to rob me!".

Aurora was dumbfounded at the words coming out from the mouth of the well-dressed woman. How can that woman be so twisted? Her sister only begged. She hasn't stolen from anyone.

The woman insisted on Aurora paying for the sausage after so much plead to no avail. Aurora dipped her hand into her back pocket to get her wallet. S

he had a little money left in the wallet which she had wanted to use and buy some foodstuffs that night. Her heart flew away for a second when she found her wallet missing. It was no longer in her back pocket.

Her heart shattered and every hope she had of eating that night dashed.

She turned to the woman with a pitiful look. "Ma'am I think I lost my wallet, please I will give you the sausage money tomorrow, I have nothing on me now" she tried explaining. She wasn't sure if she would have the money tomorrow but she still had to get the woman to let them go. She doesn't want to cause a scene there.

"You piece of a tramp, do you think I'm stupid for you to fool? You had no money, of course, you should admit that and not say you lost your wallet as if you could actually afford one" the woman said with a look of disgust.

Aurora swallowed the word that was about to escape from her mouth. If she was to speak rashly to the woman, the woman would draw the attention of people who would blame her.

Aurora was still figuring out what to do when the woman Insulted their mother, Calling her a cheap prostitute who got an infection with the virus and couldn't care for her kids.

That was the last straw that broke the camel's back. Aurora couldn't take it anymore. It was one thing to Insult her but another thing to accuse her mother of what she doesn't do. How dare her? Who gave her the right to spill such trash about her mother?

Aurora was so angry that she walked up to the woman and slapped her so hard that she fainted right on the spot. Aurora had forgotten she was a werewolf and wasn't supposed to let her anger get to her. She was much stronger than a regular human.

Before people could gather around, she took her sister and fled the place. She managed to collect the woman's purse before leaving.

She didn't mean to do so but since the woman said she couldn't afford a purse then she could start with hers. She was lucky to have fainted if not, she would have given her the beat of her life.

When she got home, she saw their house had been sealed and her mother had been chased out. They were homeless. She didn't ask her mother anything as she picked up their luggage and escorted her mother away.

They made a stop at Mrs. Avery's home before they finally got an apartment in the slums. That's where they had been living and life in the slums wasn't an easy one.

She began to pickpocket whenever an opportunity came. It was a one-time act that turned into a habit. Since finding a job wasn't possible, she couldn't watch her family die of starvation.

She knew it wasn't right but a man ghat to do what a man ghat to do to survive. She couldn't bring herself to sell her precious body so stealing was the best way to make money and still keep her body safe.

She used the money gotten from people's wallets to sustain her family. She managed to save up enough money to send her sister to school and she was absolutely leaving fine not until she picked the devil's wallet.

That's when her life changed. She can't believe she had become someone's property over the silly excuse of being mates. She regretted that day so much.

Aurora was still lost in her thoughts when she heard the door opening. He must have been back, she thought to herself. She decided to feign sleep as she closed her eyes tightly. She doesn't wish to see him. The sight of him angers her as well as sparks up emotions in her.

His scent wafted through her nose. It was so intoxicating. She had the urge to go wrap herself around him but she resisted the stupid urge.

Aurora scolded her stupid body for being too sensitive. She should resist him. She shouldn't be melting in his presence or touch or anything. She should resist him.

She continued to remind herself how she should resist him that she didn't know how she slept off.

Alpha Jax walked into the room and there she was cuddling herself on the bed. She looked so small and…fluffy. He could hear her feign breathing. He saw through her act immediately he came into the room.

She doesn't know yet that he could hear her thoughts. Not all but most of them. He knows she doesn't want to see him. He also knew she wanted to reject him. He knew all the dirty thoughts hovering around her mind. He knew of her jealousy.

She wished! She can never reject him because she would always be his…now and forever. He remains her mate for life. He will surely tame her. She needs to be submissive to him at all times.

Alpha Jax walked closer to her. He could feel her even breathe. She is really asleep now. He drew closer to inhale her scent. He felt a desire to devour her. Her luscious lips were pouted. She had a beautiful scowl on her face. It look like she was still angry at him. He drew closer to kiss it.

At first, he just wanted to plant a soft kiss on her lips but it was so delicious that he couldn't remove his mouth. He kissed her deeply as he savored the taste from her lips. He started caressing her neck and face, then slowly, her hands slipped inside the blanket she used for covering. Ha! She was naked. That was when he remembered that her clothes were torn.

A kind of anger and jealousy crossed his mind. What if it were someone else who came? Would that person have seen her naked body? He needs to look for a shirt for her.

He immediately mindlink his Beta to provide ladies' clothes in an hour. He specifically told him to drop it with any of the female servants. He shouldn't come to his room.

After instructing his beta, he turned to look at his sleeping beauty. She was looking so quiet and sweet but once she was awake, she will turn back to a tigress.

He chuckled quietly to himself. He pinched her cheek softly before planting a wet kiss. He noticed he was already aroused. He lay beside her on the bed as he wrapped his hands around her naked body.

He had absolutely forgotten all his plans of punishing her for stealing his wallet. He even forgot about the important documents in the wallet, it wasn't important to him right now as she is.

A sweet sensation passed through his body. His mate. Stubborn yet beautiful. He could drown in those stubborn eyes of hers.

The moon goddess must be tempting him. He was without a mate for a long time only for his mate to be the disobedient type. But he will surely tame her.

Alpha Jax's mind ran back to what his Beta told him today. Is he in love with her? If he doesn't love her, then why is he so affected by her? He even couldn't withstand Jasmine.

Does the mate bond come with love? He couldn't help but query himself.
