She decided to reject her mate. But, could she really bring herself to reject him? She knows the consequences of rejection. Can she really have the willpower to overcome the consequences? Could she really reject the alpha?

Aurora decided that she would do whatever it takes to make him so angry that he will be the one to reject her. Yes, that's what she would do.

Just as she was in deep thought, she detected a cold chill from Jax which made her stiff. Did he know what she had in mind? No, it can't be. She decided that she must be paranoid.

Aurora looked down at her dress as she felt something wasn't right. She saw her dress had been torn by Jax. What the heck? He tore her clothes and he had the guts to tell her to put on her clothes. Is she putting on the rags or what? She looked at him angrily.

"How do you expect me to get dressed like this? You knew you tore my clothes!", She yelled at him.

"Keep yelling and you will go around with the torn clothes", he replied calmly as he tried to compose his emotions", it's not like I am entire to blame. I can remember someone moaning in deep pleasure too".

"You…you…", her face went red as she struggled to say the next words. This man is just too raw. Doesn't he have an ounce of shame? Shameless, she thought in her heart.

Alpha Jax watched her face reddened. He knew she was feeling shy but underneath that shyness is a very stubborn disposition. He won't be fooled again.

"Yes, me. I remembered everything that happened a moment ago and I wasn't the only one enjoying it", he said again, this time he was grinning.

"Just shut up!", Aurora rushed to cover his mouth.

As soon as her hand touched his mouth, she was overwhelmed with the urge to kiss those lips again but she shook her head vehemently to dispel those images

Damn the mate bond! It's obvious she can't think straight!

Alpha Jax must have seen through her as he drew her closer to sniff her hair. She smells great. He found her irresistible.

Aurora pulled away from him. The man was an obvious temptation to her.

"What would I put on now? I have to go back home tonight or else my family would be worried about me", Aurora said.

"I told you that you don't have to worry about your family. My men would take care of that issue", he replied.

"But I still need to leave…", she insisted.

"Your duty is to stay by my side. I wanted to send you home tonight but I changed my mind. You are staying here tonight…with me. And…don't test my patience further", he said as he stood up.

"Where are you going? Are you leaving me here?", Aurora asked.

"Yes, stay in bed but you can still move around if you are not afraid to be seen naked by the servants", he said as he walked towards the door of the room.

"Jerk!", Aurora muttered silently.

"I am afraid if I stay here any longer I might just go crazy", he said ignoring her last statement.

The door was shut tightly as Aurora slumped on the bed fuming with anger.

Aurora thinks this is one of the worst encounters between mates for the first time. He just left her like that?

Beta Rufus was about to take a nap as soon as he got home when he received a mindlink message from Alpha Jax to meet him up at the pub.

He wondered what the alpha was doing there at this time of the night. Did he bring his mate along? Or is he there alone? What happened between those two? Different questions kept popping into his mind.

When Beta Rufus got to the private cabin, he saw Alpha Jax pouring himself a bottle of wine. He looked exactly like the god of death people always refer him to. What happened again? Is it that girl?

"Alpha", Beta Rufus greeted with a bow.

"Did you know that girl had the thought to reject me?", Alpha Jax suddenly said.

"What? But why?", Beta Rufus asked in bewilderment.

"She hates me. She doesn't want to submit to me", he responded as he gulped down the wine.

"Did you do anything to her?", Beta Rufus asked. That question earned a deadly glare from the angry Alpha.

"What do you think I did to her? All I want is for her to be docile. She's a woman, Rufus", Alpha Jax replied.

"And she's also your mate. Women prefer to be treated with love and understanding. The respect will follow immediately", Beta Rufus said calmly.

"I am her mate and her Alpha. She needs to respect me. She seems to forget that I can destroy her life and that of her family once I reveal her secret to everyone", Alpha Jax said with anger.

"Alpha, I know you are my superior but we're also friends. What I want to tell you is that it's better you just shut that chapter of the theft for the sake of her being your mate.

If you continue taunting her, she might withdraw from you. She did what she did out of compulsion", Beta Rufus advised.

"I didn't mean to bring up that matter but she really pissed me off. She can't stop calling me names. She is not afraid of me", Alpha Jax said.

"Do you want her to fear you or respect you?", Beta Rufus asked.

"Both. She should fear me as an Alpha, her Alpha, and respect me as her mate", he replied nonchalantly.

"Do you love her?", Beta Rufus asked.

"Rufus, I just met her tonight. That question is absurd", he replied.

"If…", Beta Rufus wanted to continue when the Alpha waved him off.

"That's enough. Tell me something, is that man still alive?", He asked.

"You mean Craig? Yes, he is still in our safehouse", Beta Rufus said.

"Okay, you can leave now. Jasmine would be here anytime soon", he said, pouring himself another drink.

"Jasmine?", Beta Rufus asked, surprised.

"Rufus, I don't need any silly advice from you. You can leave now", he replied as he waved his Beta off.

Beta Rufus wanted to say something but he stopped himself. He bowed deeply and took his leave.

On his way out, he saw Jasmine wearing a smug look with joy clearly written on her face. She cast the girls around a disdainful look before walking into the cabin like a peacock.

When Jasmine got into the cabin, he saw Alpha Jax downing another glass of wine. He looked at Jasmine and beckoned her to come closer.

Jasmine was filled with joy as she walked with docility towards the Alpha. She sat close to him and placed her hand on his muscular chest in a circular motion.

Alpha Jax relaxed his mind as Jasmine touched him. His mind wandered to Aurora. Why can't she be like Jasmine? He dislikes people that disobey him.

He thought about those luscious lips, that succulent body. Those moans…. arrrgh! Why can't he get her off his mind?

With those thoughts still running in his mind, he drew Jasmine closer and kissed her. He tried to feel that spark he felt when he kissed Aurora but he just couldn't feel anything.

What's happening to him? Alpha Jax pondered. Why can't he feel anything? This is not the first time he had been with Jasmine.

He shook his head and proceeded to take Jasmine's clothes off but still couldn't feel any attraction. Damn, what is happening to him?

"She is not our mate, we have found our mate and you don't expect things to remain the way they were before" his wolf reminded.

I don't fucking care. I am here to enjoy myself with Jasmine and you won't stop me with that shit called mate bond, Alpha Jax retorted.

"Alpha, is something bothering you?", Jasmine asked when she noticed he wasn't responding to her touches.

"Your job is to fucking get me aroused not ask questions, got it?", Alpha Jax said in anger.

"Forgive me Alpha", Jasmine replied in fear.

Alpha Jax grabbed Jasmine again. He kissed and caressed her but still, he felt nothing. He felt frustrated. In anger, he pushed Jasmine away from his body.

"Get dressed and get out", he ordered as he stretched his hand for another glass of wine.

"Did…did.. did I do you wrong?", Jasmine asked.

"I said get lost", he growled loudly in his Alpha's tone.

Before Jasmine could recollect herself, she had been pinned to the wall. Another loud growl was heard again as Jasmine whimpered.

"Ple…plea…please…don't… kill me", Jasmine managed to voice out.

The cabin door flung open as Beta Rufus rushed in. He fell on his knees begging the alpha.

"Alpha…please drop, you will kill her", he pleaded.

Another growl sounded before Jasmine fell to the ground coughing violently. She managed to pick up her clothes and fled the cabin not minding the whispers behind her.

She just escaped death.
