Chapter 15: Chapter 15

Aurora looked at Craig with a perplexed and a little annoying expression. Why can't this fool ever think positively about anything she tells him?

"Why do you always look cranky whenever I tell you my ordeals?", Aurora asked him, a little annoyed.

"Rora, you are my friend and I will be very hurt if anything bad happens to you. Please Rora, stop this already. You might be caught and end up in jail", Craig pleaded.

Aurora sighed before walking up to her friend who obviously looked concerned about her.

"Listen Craig, I won't be caught. I promise. Stop wishing me bad luck. Be happy for me, buddy", she tried talking to him.

"Happy that you are a thief? Happy that you might go to jail? Aurora, I don't want to lose you", Craig was emotional.

"Blaaa! Craig! What's all this? Why are you cursing me? Why do you think I would go to jail?"

"Any man that hides his face behind a mask is not a common person. He must be influential. What if he tracks you down?", Craig reasoned.

"You are just paranoid. Easy, buddy. No one is going to track me. The person must be one of those rich people who wouldn't bat an eye on losing just twenty thousand", she said stubbornly.

"Paranoid? Rora, why don't you stick to decent earning? What do you need excess money for?", Craig asked.

"Yes, you don't have to worry much because there was a commotion at that time. Anyone could have taken it. Besides, that guy didn't even look at me. He wouldn't recognize me", Aurora said, trying to convince him.

She wonders what was wrong with Craig? Does he have to be too logical? Even that stupid Aliya thinks that man is also very important. Who cares? As long as she gets some money to cater for her family, she doesn't give a damn.

Her mind ran back to what Aliya said about the man. If he is not human, then what is he? Is he a…wolf? Aliya even said he hid his scent. She grew angry just thinking about wolves. To say she hated the fact that she belongs to the werewolves community would be an understatement.

She always resists Aliya but it still finds a way to come back to her. Inside her head. Invading her privacy. So annoying.

"Have you finally seen why I am anxious?", Craig said when he saw Aurora's distraught expression.

"Duh! Who cares? Besides, I have quit that job already. No one can trace the stealing back to me", she replied smugly before dragging Craig with her.

"Let's go have a nice drink", she said with a wide grin.

Reluctantly Craig followed her like a little lamb. This girl always has the upper hand on him. But this time, he would not let her do as she wished. What if that man was a Mafia? Or a leader of a notorious gang? Or an influential government official? So many thoughts kept running through his head as Aurora dragged him to a nearby bar.

Aurora, who was very happy, ordered drinks for them. The service boy brought the drinks to them before taking his leave.

"Craig, why don't you tell me your escapades with that crush of yours. You even skipped work just to be with him?", Aurora tried to change the topic when she noticed he was still brooding over the matter.

Craig's features softened at the mention of his crush. Aurora smiled knowing she had successfully diverted his attention. Phew!

"Well, it was quite a fascinating meeting and he was so sweet. So caring and…strong. Gosh, Rora. That guy is one hell of a knockout and I can't wait to be with him again", Craig said blushing.

"Huh? Again? Craig, you are not the type to go for a real relationship", she said.

"Fuck off, Rora. What makes you think so?"

"The last time I checked you were still a 'one night stander'… if there's any word like that", she said with an evil grin.

"People change. But that doesn't mean I quit being that. I just love his service and want to taste it again. There's nothing wrong in that", he defended.

"Yeah, right. There's nothing wrong in you being a womanizer. But do you know what's wrong? It's you going for a second time. You have never…I repeat, never done that before. You like them differently all the time. At Least that's what you told me", she said smiling as she drank from her beer.

"Stop chugging your beer like that. Act like a lady", Craig chided her.

"Never told you I was one", she said as she gulped another glass of beer.

Craig shook his head as he looked at her. This girl always takes everything for granted. She would do anything for money as long as it doesn't involve blood. But extortion? That's her forte.

Sometimes life isn't fair though, he thought. Aurora only does these so she can fend for her family. Her ailing mother and kid sister. After the gruesome death of her father, she had been taking care of them. She hates her father's murderers and vow to avenge her father if the opportunity comes.

"Tell me Craig, is he that good in that aspect or is it that you are smitten by his beauty?", She asked curiously.

"What do you know? It's not like you have done it before. So it's useless telling you anything", he hissed. She can be so nosy.

Aurora shrugged and continued her drinking. She was getting a little tipsy even though her alcohol tolerance was okay.

"You know something Craig, it's not like I don't want to have someone but I feel like my life isn't meant for those things. I have my mother to worry about and my little sister to cater for. I don't have time for that stuff", Aurora said looking into space.

"Rora, you have to stop carrying all the burden of this world on your shoulders. You still have a life, sweetheart", Craig advised.

"Yeah right. And my life belongs to my family", she muttered under her breath.

"Not just your family, Aurora. It also belongs to our mate", Aliya chipped in inside her brain.

"Shut up, Aliya", Aurora shouted angrily.

"What's Aliya saying?", Craig asked looking at her in smiles. "I know she's right though" he added making Aurora to roll her eyes.

Aurora looked down as she just realized Aliya messed up her head. Damn you, Aliya. I will get you out soonest.

Glaring hard at Craig, Aurora filled up her glass cup and gulped down, fuming in anger.

"Stupid bitch!!!"
