Chapter 197: Chapter 197
Third Person's Point if view
Adonis has only just woken up, and his head is still throbbing from the day earlier. Even though he wanted to get out of bed, he couldn't because he felt as if the bed itself was dragging him back into it. In his peripheral vision, he saw Athen sleeping next to him, which also had a towel and a basin of water in the side table. After taking a glance outside, he realized that it was already night... Adonis pondered how many hours he had passed out when he realized that everyone else seemed to be sleeping. He couldn't help but go back to the recollection that had passed through him earlier, which had triggered the event that had led his memory to be instantly ignited.
During his attempt to vaguely remember everything, he yanked his hair because the side of his brain was beginning to ache again.
“Adonis...”
“Adonis...”
No one was calling his name, so he glanced around him and at the entrance to check if anybody else was, but there was no one screaming his name. The only thing that can be heard is the sound of the air conditioning. He was intrigued by the voice and wanted to know where it was coming from, but the sound never returned.
He closed his eyes once again because he felt like he was just exhausted as a result of all that had transpired today. What he didn't know was that there had been some kind of news concerning Luna. He was worried, but he realized that if he forced himself to get up and exhaust himself, he may end up adding to the problem rather than solving it.
But, despite his desire to shut his eyes, he kept refusing, and he swiftly rose up, without caring whether he would wake Athen. As soon as he got to his feet, he was on the verge of falling to the floor, but he managed to grab onto the wall.
When he touched the doorknob, it opened, and he was greeted by Raymond and Mark, who were both looking at him with puzzled looks. He couldn't tell if it was out of anxiety or delight since what he saw was a mixture of both.
"What's on your face?" Because of the roughness of his voice, it was difficult to hear him. He seemed to be thirsty, but he did not want to demand the two guys in front of him to get some water.
"Raymond, please go get some water." Raymond was given the command by Mark. Raymond rushed rapidly as Mark held Adonis' hand, as he had noted that Adonis was having difficulty rising up and needed assistance. "Sir, let us briefly discuss the news that we just received. The doctor said, ``You should not stand or exert yourself at this time."
Adonis, on the other hand, followed what Mark said because he didn't want to add to what the two men were doing because he noticed that the two were already busy and he would only be a burden if he pushed himself.
"What would you say?" When Adonis asked, the door opened and Raymond entered with a glass of water in his hand. With a quivering hand, Raymond offered the glass to Adonis and Adonis drank it. Adonis doesn't have to inquire as to why Raymond's hand is shaking since his lover has the same problem as Luna. Adonis was hesitant to ask about it because he believed it would create an unpleasant mood.
When Adonis had finished drinking the water, he turned to face the two men who had been waiting for him to finish. He looked them in the eyes with seriousness and then repeated his query. “What would you say? You We can't simply sit here all night and watch my daughter and I sleep peacefully, can we?”
“Oh no! Please accept my apologies." Mark regained consciousness swiftly because he couldn't believe that the guy in front of him was in fact Adonis, as he had previously believed. In the past few months, they traveled to the island only for the purpose of finding his friend; now it is confirmed that Adonis is still alive.
Mark handed along the piece of writing he had written about what he had learned from Luke. Adonis picked it up and began reading what was inside. However, in order for Adonis to better comprehend what was stated on the page, Mark also explains through what was mentioned there.
"According to that report, Luke Yuno was the one who abducted Luna. He is a successful businessman with whom you have worked for many years but with whom you do not get along well. Others said he had a bad attitude since he abused staff on a continuous basis—"
"That is not the information I want; instead, please provide a quick overview."
"Luke Yuno is Leilani's husband, and Raymond is now in a relationship with her." Mark admonished straight. In Adonis' thoughts, he considered how Leilani might be Raymond's lover if the lady were married. As for the fact that it wasn't his concern, he brushed it off.
“Proceed.”
"Because Luke had had so many different women, his wife got the idea of seeking for other guys as well. Given the fact that they are no longer happy in their relationship, they did not file for divorce, most likely due to political considerations.
"Then how did Luke meet Luna?"
"When Miss Luna returned from the United States, Luke recognized Athen and decided to use her as a model for the Zhejiang project." "
"What is the Zhejiang project?" Adonis was embarrassed by the sheer amount of questions he had to ask.
“Yes, sir. This project is under your authority."
"If I'm in charge of that project, why is Luke there?"
"Because he purported to be a photographer and created a false identity," he answered without pause.
"For what reason?"
"Because he regarded that the Zhejiang project was a significant element of your company's overall success. He believed that the initiative would be lucrative."
"Does it work out? Can you tell me what the goal of this project is?"
"Sir, that project was formerly held by Ma'am Luna. However, when she went to the United States, it was you who prepared and carried on. That campaign is about the underprivileged, who need to be exposed on social media in order for many more people to reach out and support them."
"If Leilani was kidnapped because she was Luke's wife, why was Luna also affected?"
"Because we found out that Luke is obsessed with Ma'am Luna."
“Obsess, huh? How did you say that?”
“The day Ma’am Luna returned to their house in Guangdong, someone was watching her house. You instructed us not to leave Ma'am Luna alone, so we kept an eye on her from a distance, and we saw that Luke was usually around Ma'am Luna's home."
As a response to what Mark stated, Adonis was able to get up and walk.
