Chapter 161: Chapter 161
Third Person's POV
The next morning, everyone woke up early but Leilani only stayed in her room because she remembered the hurtful words she had left to Raymond. She did not have the courage to face the man now.
Luna, on the other hand, was still like that, she felt even heavier because she remembered what she said to Leilani.
They were the only two left and everyone is waiting downstairs to eat.
“Nana, pick those two to eat.”
Since Adonis left the mansion, Luna often invite them to eat because they're no different than real family.
And since they weren't used to the table being quiet, Mark ordered Nana to wake the two.
She climbed up and was nervous because she also wanted to say something to Luna today. Before she went straight to Luna, she went to Leilani first.
“Miss Leilani, Mark ordered me to ask you to come out and eat. They are all waiting for you.” Nana knocked to get an answer.
She heard footsteps and the next door opening. Leilani looked at her as if she had no appetite.
When Nana saw her, she backed away for fear that Leilani would scold her. Leilani, on the other hand, quickly adjusted her posture so that she would not have a bad impression of the new maid in Luna's house.
Nana looked up at her and Leilani smiled. "I'll come down."
Leilani looked at Luna's door and so did Estella. “All right, Miss Leilani. I'll just wake Luna up next. ”
Leilani nodded again and went back inside her room. She didn't even watch Nana turn away from her. Even though she didn't want to go out because she knew it would be awkward to talk later, she couldn't do anything.
She just wait for the time to pass for Luna to come down to her first. Meanwhile, Estella also started calling Luna.
"Luna, are you awake now?" She knocked softly so that in case she was asleep, sje would not be disturbed.
But she didn't expect Luna's door would open for her. She greeted Luna's face with a smile. She noticed that compared to her aura the day before, Luna's appearance was lighter now.
"Is Athens downstairs?" She asked Estella.
Estella just nodded and was ready to close the door when Estella stopped her.
“I would like to say something, Luna. If you only have a little time and if you will allow it.” Estella scratched her head because she was ashamed to open the topic to Luna.
"...."
Luna removed Estella's hand and closed the door. "What's that?"
"... Ahm ... You remember Sasha, don't you?" Nana could not tell her directly what she wanted to say. She was ashamed of what Luna could tell her.
"Of course."
"Because ..." She stopped and looked Luna in the eye as if begging.
"Say what you want to say because I'm sure they're already waiting in the kitchen to eat." Luna told her without stopping because she noticed that Estella was having a hard time speaking.
“They kept asking people questions about you and they found out that you live here. They left the island so that Sasha's condition could be treated.” Estella bowed then continued what she wanted to say. "I just wanted to ask your permission if they could stay here for a while."
Estella played with her fingers because she was restless.
Her tail pulled back even more when she heard Luna's sigh. Because of their treatment of Luna when she went to the island is the reason why Estella is hesitant whether she will open the topic.
"It's okay if not—"
“Not that I don't want them to stay here, but I can imagine the ambiance of the mansion. You know that they don't treat me that kindly, I don't want to be in my own house while adjusting with my guest— "
"I'm sure that won't happen, Luna!" Nana immediately cut off to what in Luna's mind.
Luna, on the other hand, stared at the old woman earnestly and wondered if she would agree.
"When did you see them?" Luna asked in surprise.
“Yesterday, when I went to the market to buy groceries, I saw them on the street asking about your name. They only ask for my name so they are lucky to see me.” Nana's expression became tired. “I don't want to imagine how tiring it is.”
“Okay. I will let them stay here but they should not expect me to entertain them.” Luna said seriously.
Nana nodded one after another while there was a smile on her lips. Luna had no other reaction and walked away from the front door.
As soon as she came down followed by Nana, she could hear nothing but the deafening silence and even the sound of cutlery hitting the plate. They seem to have started eating as well.
When she came to the living room everyone was looking at her. She looked at Athen who was eating slowly and seemed to have no appetite.
She realized that her excessive grief had really affected her daughter. She did not think that Athen was hurt either.
"Athens." She weakly calls Athen.
"Mommy!" Athen's eyes widened as she saw her mother standing now.
She ran over to Luna and let go of the spoon and fork she was holding. Luna couldn't stop being emotional either.
"Mommy!" Athenian persecution.
Luna kissed her quickly and sweetly on the forehead like Adonis used to do.
She caressed her back and tried to remind herself of what she should do.
As they hugged, she looked at Mark who suddenly stood up and stared at them. Luna looked at him curiously while the others looked on as well.
"Miss Luna, you have to get ready today because the lawyer is coming later." Because of what Mark remarked, Luna immediately stood up.
Although there was a fear in her heart that she might lose the mansion, she just kept quiet.
