Chapter 162: Chapter 162

Third Person's POV

Everyone was eating, Luna didn't even ask after Mark told her about the arrival of their lawyer. Nevertheless, something was troubling her demeanor about the matter of why Adonis ’lawyer was going even though the funeral had not yet been confirmed.

When she sat down, Leilani went down the stairs just in time. Leilani wandered her eyes to the table where Mark, Raymond, Leilani, Athen and Nana were sitting.

Raymond's eyes met hers but Raymond was the first to avoid his eyes. Her heart pounded and a loud thump hit her heart.

"Miss Leilani, sit here." Nana smiled at her and she sat down next to her.

Leilani reciprocated her smile and walked over to the spot Nana said. She hadn't even sat down when suddenly Raymond stood up.

Raymond did not get the attention of others because for them it was just normal of what he did. It was only for Leilani that the act was different because she felt that Raymond was avoiding her. Even she feels like she’s just being assuming.

“Everyone, get ready because we will have a guest. I want you to treat them well.” Luna spoke despite the silence that made them all wondered.

No one asked any of them but Leilani's mind was filled with question. She wants to know who Luna's guest will be.

When they had all finished eating, they returned to their respective activities and jobs. But Luna goes straight to the garden with Athen. She knew it would be difficult to stay in her room because she would only continue to be visited by the sadness that she would have wanted to escape.

Athen didn't insist either because she knew it would be difficult for her mommy to open the topic.

While they were still sitting in the garden, Leilani came immediately. It was a long time before Leilani approached because she knew Luna and her were still not getting along. But if she wasn't the first to humble herself, she knew the friendship she had been looking for with the people she was with would end, be thrown away and just be wasted.

Luna didn't see her or rather, she didn't notice because of the depth of what she was thinking. Athen was the first to notice her, so Athen called her mommy.

"Mommy, aunty Leilani is here."

Luna seemed surprised by what Athen said because she quickly woke up and shifted her attention to standing and avoiding Leilani's face now.

"Oh." There was a shock on Luna's face that she tried to hide. As she sat in the garden and wherever her brain went, what bothered her the most were the words she left to Leilani.

It was a mistake for her to tell the woman everything that she thought was wrong just because from her perspective, Leilani didn’t understand her. We have different way to understand someone and she’s afraid to talk to Leilani because she knows she’s wrong.

“Can we have a little chat?” Leilani averted her face as she asked Luna. She doesn't want to see Luna's expression so she tries not to look at it.

She waited for Luna to speak and give an answer before she finally turned her head to the woman.

After just a few seconds of waiting for her answer, she heard Luna's voice.

“Athen, go to Nana Estella first, is that okay with you? Aunty Leilani and I are just going to talk.” She stroked Athen's hair to show her daughter that she didn't have to worry anymore because Luna was slowly returning to her former self.

Athen nodded and quickly ran inside.

“Come. Sit beside me.”

When Leilani heard Luna's voice, she turned to her as tears streamed down the corner of her eye.

She couldn't stop the weak sob either so to stop it, she covered her mouth.

"It's my mistake."

"I'm sorry."

The two of them stuttered without knowing it. They both looked stunned because they both had that in mind.

Luna grinned and looked down at where she had stepped on the wild grass. She played with it with the slippers she was wearing and so did Leilani.

They felt ashamed of each other so they couldn't help but say what they were saying. They spent a few minutes before Luna continued what she was about to say.

"You know, a person's mind becomes closed and poison when they want to believe something — and when someone reminds them of a thing they don't understand, they become more emotionally violate." Luna looked up and turned to Leilani.

"What I told you is wrong, I also shouldn't justify what I said just because I feel—"

“No. I'm sorry.” Luna was cut off when Leilani stepped in. “I shouldn’t have told you those things. And how you feel, I should consider first before I give you heavy words. I-I'm sorry.”

Leilani's sobs got louder so Luna hugged her. Luna patted her back to calm the woman.

"A-And ..." Leilani couldn't continue what she wanted to say because for her the thing in her mind was unnecessary but she seemed to explode if she couldn't say anything about it.

"And I said something to Raymond ... that shouldn't be." Leilani's eyes got even hotter and the grain of tears in her eyes grew bigger. She did not know the right thing to say. She just wants to get rid of all the weight she feels.

"It's okay if you don't want to say." Luna looked from a distance because she already had an idea of what was happening to the two.

Leilani didn't continue what she was going to say because she couldn't find the right word. No matter how much she says of how she feels for Raymond, Luna will not side with her. And maybe this is the right time to say goodbye to Luna.

“Maybe next week, I will leave. I can't run away from all the problems.”

"Hmn." Luna just nodded because she had no advice to give Leilani. The two of them made the right decision. And if in the future, they want to pursue what they want, there is no stopping them, she just hope that Leilani will fix what she left behind.

"Don't worry, you'll be fine too." Luna's words are like empty words because even she, it's not certain how long it should take for a person with a broken heart to heal.

Leilani didn't answer but before she left this house, she wanted to leave a memory with Raymond, just in case they never meet again, she would have a memory to cherish.

She wants to give herself a week of happiness.
