Chapter 160: Chapter 160
Third Person's POV
The bed sank as Leilani sat on it. Luna still wasn't looking at her. For Luna, half of her soul is dead.
From the moment they returned, she began to realize that they might be right. From what Sasha said, maybe she's just killing herself because she's believing someone is alive in her heart.
Or maybe other people are right when they say that Adonis is dead but she just don't want to accept it because she is delusional. Either way, she still can’t receive and process anything there.
Nana had said then that she had to keep going because there was a memory Adonis left with her — and that was Athen.
But how can she fulfill her responsibility when even she is drowning in the depths of sorrow. She was under the sea that many hand wanted to hold her but she could not take them because she was only waiting for someone.
“Luna, if you just keep lying there, what about Athen? Who will be responsible for her?” Leilani wanted to explain her point to Luna.
“Nana is there, just tell her to take care of Athen first. I'll come out when I'm become fine."
"When is the word 'when you're fine' for you?" Leilani got up from her seat and moved to where Luna could see her. "How many years? How many months? How many days should everyone wait, Luna? Everyone around you wants to take a step! They all want to move because the world to is round, they want to go with its flow but they can't because they want you to be with them!”
Leilani was about to plant the words on Luna but Luna had no plans to listen to everything.
“Nothing is stopping them from moving. I can't hold their feet.”
Luna closed her eyes and didn't want to listen to Leilani's sigh. She didn't want a discussion because she was too tired and thinking a lot to add to it.
“You’re selfish. You can't see that they want to take you because they don't want to leave you— ”
“Who cares?! Who cares, Leilani?! You can't even fix your husband, why do you want to help other people?!” Luna stood up on the bed and looked at Leilani like a knife.
Leilani felt pain because of what she said. Luna suddenly realized of what she said. She was only carried away by her emotions because of the amount she was thinking.
“... Look ... I'm sorry -”
"I wouldn't be surprised if Adonis just chose to stay away from the selfish like you." Leilani grinned sarcastically but she gave it a dark stare.
Luna was shocked by what Leilani said. They don’t talk much about this kind of thing but Luna knows that Leilani is one of the most dependable when it comes to this kind of problem. She quickly regret what she said.
"I won't be surprised if Adonis doesn't come back to you." Leilani walked to the door while Luna was stunned.
When Leilani got out of the door, she grabbed her chest, leaned against the wall and slowly gave up to her knees since she had been holding back. Tears welled up in her eyes.
She finally believed that she already found her home, her happiness because she had met friends she could call but she didn't think that they would look at her differently. She felt the first disappointment in a friend relationship.
She was holding her chest when there was a handkerchief laid out in front of her. She no longer had to think about who it was.
She tried to stand up again but her body just gave up and exactly Raymond grabbed her by the waist.
She felt her heart pounding but she had to remind herself that it was a betrayal before God what she was committing. Because of what Luna told her, she wanted to correct her mistake.
She removed the man's hand and pushed him away. She turned away, not speaking while holding onto the wall as support. The pain she felt in her chest was mixed.
"Why are you acting that way?" Raymond's voice echoed in the hallway which caused Leilani to stop walking.
"What do you want to say?" Leilani asked back to him but she didn't face up.
“Why did you suddenly treat me differently. I want to know." They are far away from each other so they seem to be shouting.
"I don't know what you mean." Leilani continued but she was almost paralyzed by Raymond's next question to her.
"I thought ... You have a little feelings for me too." Raymond felt ashamed because of what he asked. He had never experienced confession in his whole life.
But the thrill he felt was replaced by embarrassment as Leilani laughed out loud at him. The woman now looked at him and raised a grin as if looking down.
She looked at him from head to toe. “Look at yourself. Who would like you? A guard who has achieved nothing but to be the puppy of his boss.”
Leilani crossed her arm to show even more courage. Raymond couldn't believe what Leilani was saying. Leilani hid her hand behind her back to hide its trembling .. Even she couldn't swallow her words.
What she says is against her will but this is the right way for her to distance herself from many sins. She could not bear to have even Raymond perish because of her negligence.
“Who told you that I like you too? Is it because I smiled at the flowers you gave? You're such a fool. The happiness of women is only superficial, it's easy for them to decide but that doesn't mean I want you.”
Leilani's words to Raymond were like a dagger. He was deaf to every word Leilani uttered to him. He knew how far away their state was in life, he just didn't think that Leilani would insult him like this.
"You can take back the flowers you gave me because I will never like you."
Leilani's last words before turning away.
