Chapter 158: Chapter 158

Third Person's POV

Luna couldn't explain how she felt when she saw Athen with a weak eye. The pain and numbness mixed in her heart. Unbeknownst to her, tears welled up in her eyes.

Her eyes also hurt because she was always crying. For Luna, all the sources from which she can draw strength are gone.

She took Athen by the hand and wiped her eyes. Athen's eyes could not be removed from her mommy's face because this was the first time she had seen her cry without hiding.

Because then, she had to catch up and secretly look at Luna just to know that she was sad or crying.

"Mommy." Athen thought it was her attitude that made her mommy act like this.

Luna went inside, holding Athen. She doesn't have time to sulk now that her daughter is here. She is afraid that her behavior will affect her.

When she sat up in bed, she grabbed Athen's arm and tried to hold her back. She could not imagine what Athen's reaction would be.

"Mommy?" Athens calls her again.

Only then did Luna return to herself. Luna smiled bitterly at her daughter and decided that she needed to tell the truth so that she would not have to rely on her even though she knew it was difficult.

"Athen, mommy has something to say about daddy."

Athen was no longer surprised by what Luna said because she had heard earlier what she should have heard. Even though Athen's heart was sad, she wanted to show Luna that she can be strong like her mommy.

"I know, mommy." Athen's fade voice answered her.

Luna hugged her daughter tightly so that she could absorb the strength that she thought could not be regained due to the loss of Adonis.

"I'm sorry." Luna's voice could hardly be heard because she was just trying to be brave. With so much going on, she didn’t know if she could still do it.

During their one -week stay on the island, she realizes that it is not that easy to find the person hiding, even though she knows that Adonis is not hiding from her.

"It's not your fault mommy." What Athen said only made her heart broken.

She wanted to be angry with herself because of how she was able to be weak now and thought of giving up if her daughter wanted to be stable.

"But your daddy ..." She couldn't continue what she wanted to say so Athen just responded with a hug that she should have given earlier.

“It’s okay mommy. You can rest.”

Luna is grateful that Athen is brilliant because she can understand the situation that she would have been the only one doing it. She couldn't stop the large droplets of water from dripping from her eye again.

She broke away from Athen's embrace and then crawled onto the bed. Athen, on the other hand, took a blanket that her mommy could use. She saw how much Luna was affected by what happened because of the pale of her lip and skin.

She even felt guilty for what she had done earlier.

Her heart was relieved when she saw Luna fall asleep quickly, maybe her mommy was too tired. She just hope Leilani doesn’t say the tantrum she made when she was looking for her mommy.

Athen climbed into bed slowly and laid the blanket on her mommy's body. She leaned over her and looked at Luna's beautiful face which was now pale because maybe it was lack of sleep or tired.

She saw the tears in Luna's eyes even though she was asleep. She wiped it and hugged the woman.

Even in the dream, she was hurt.

Leilani went out of her room to check how the mother and daughter were doing.

But as soon as she opened the door she saw Raymond waiting outside. She frowned to wonder what the man was doing there.

She stepped back and looked at Raymond's face which was now tan in color. She looked down at his arm and saw the same thing.

She swallowed once because the man became attractive in her eyes even though at that time she was just frowning in her face. She also can't deny that Raymond is really handsome.

"What are you doing here?" Leilani immediately asked him because the woman was annoyed when he suddenly appeared in front of her. Her forehead furrowed as Raymond released what was from behind him.

Her forehead wondered even more.

Raymond took out the flower he had brought and showed it to Leilani. Leilani suddenly felt the heat on her face when Raymond revealed that to her.

She wanted to pretend and ask that she didn't know what the flower Raymond was giving her was for but the smile on her lips couldn't be erased no matter how much she wanted to stop it.

"Thanks." She pretended that she didn't like it even though there was a smile on her face.

Raymond immediately turned around when he saw the reaction he was waiting for. Raymond knows that he feels wrong for Leilani but he can't stop his feelings for the woman.

During the whole week of their stay on the island, that was the first time he had missed something he couldn't explain. He just wanted to go back to the mansion immediately to find what he wanted.

Leilani went back to her room again and ran to the bed to scream because of the butterfly playing in her stomach. During her time together with Luke, this was only the first time she had felt the strange joy she had never experienced with Luke.

But the smile on her face also quickly disappeared when she realized that she couldn't like Raymond. She doesn't want to be the reason why Raymond would be damned.

Finally, she stood up on the bed and laid the flower on the side table.

Regretting that she had accepted it.
