Chapter 111: Chapter 111
Once you see the woman you hope you will spend the rest of your life with, it is a completely different experience.
If you tell her that, you don't want anybody to stand in your way, even if it's destined to happen. The only dilemma is; fate is an enigma to us. It is like a weapon that will cause injury to conclude that you are not the right person for the one you love. You want to fight it, but you're not sure how to go about it since, rather than battling it, you prefer to implore to that fate, whispering in the air that it would give you your desire.
“Mmm…” Wendy was sound asleep when I took hold of her face for fear of waking her. I stood and watched her hair fall out. Every time I see her in this state, my chest tightens up a little more. It was impossible for my heart to tolerate the notion that she might leave me one day. I'd want to be self-centered and ask her;
How about me?
I walked out of the room and left her to sleep. Before I descended to the stairs and went into the kitchen, I could hear the woman weeping in the room. I came to a complete halt and my gaze wandered over the telephone.
Our stay in the United States has only been one month, yet she has not stopped sobbing everyday. I want to contact Adonis and inform him that his girlfriend has landed here and that she is bearing his child. The crying stopped and I went to the kitchen since I knew her eyes were closing and I didn't want to wake her up any more by being in her presence.
My attention returned to the telephone, and I considered making an effort to just contact Adonis because it may not be good for Luna if she was just here, sobbing, and wasting her time. Perhaps, if anything happens to their child, I will be forced to bear the weight of my guilt. I threw myself on the single sofa and I didn't know what to do because it was also confusing my mind after we arrived here in the USA. Like my head is about to burst out of my skull.
I couldn't keep myself from getting up and walking over to the telephone that was positioned next to the vase. Because the landline here is international, I don't have to worry about how I'm going to reach him when I need to. As soon as I had the telephone, I placed it to my ear and called the number for their residence.
When I looked away from the telephone, my gaze returned to the room where Luna was sleeping because the phone had already rung twice and Adonis had not answered each time. He must be awake at this time since we don't share the same time zone, so I'm certain that our schedules will not interfere with one another.
My second call to Adonis went dead, and he didn't even pick up the telephone to answer it. I called his contact info for the last time. In the event that he does not pick it up, it serves as more evidence that they truly do need to end whatever connection they have with one other and that they are not meant to be together. I waited a few more rings and I was able to get the call straight to the sudden response to the call.
"Hello?"
On the other end of the phone line, I could hear a deep voice. What am I supposed to tell him? Shall I say that Luna is here? What happens if he claims he isn't seeking for the lady anymore? We had a disagreement in the past because Wendy kept a secret from me but he didn't deserve to do the same to him. No one has the right to be harmed in any way.
“Adoni —-” However, no matter how hard I tried to continue my sentence, I was unable to do so because of the woman who spoke from above. Luna was looking directly at me when I saw her. I yanked the phone out of my ear and hung up.
"Can you tell me who you're talking to?" She stated it coldly, yet her eyes were swollen from what she always does in her room.
“No. There is nothing." I feigned a chuckle despite the fact that it was obvious that I was pretending. I will only seem suspicious. My gaze was drawn to the telephone, which had been switched off. Now that she's down, I'm much more nervous. When she eventually came into view in front of me, she clutched my arm. I've just bent my head.
"A-adonis, correct?"
My eyes widened as she wept and knelt. I grabbed her arms to assist her in standing. I couldn't take it any longer as she sat and grabbed my knee. Perhaps something awful will happen to her baby if it continues.
"I want to return h-home." She was trembling as I saw her eyes well up with tears. "I am unable to stay here for an extended period of time anymore. I'd want to see him." She continued speaking, and all I could do was observe what she was doing.
I was upset because I saw myself feeling the same way once the Lord decided to take Wendy's life. Probably I will feel even worse since she may see the one she loves from afar but I will not because the almighty will take Wendy from me for the rest of my life. However, I will not allow that to happen; I must discover a way to prolong the life of the person I love.
"It is really Adonis."
She came to a halt when I stated that. I felt her fingers shaking. I assisted her in rising to her feet and escorted her to the couch. I rushed to the kitchen to offer her water and to ensure her comfort. I instantly returned, and she gulped the water. Perhaps she was already dehydrated from her constant cries.
"What exactly did he say?" I stared into her eyes and saw that they were filled with hope. In reaction, I shook my head.
"I disconnected the phone before we could speak because I assumed you would not want to talk with him." I stopped speaking and looked her in the eye with concern.
"Would you want to speak with him?"
