Chapter 110: Chapter 110
"Wh-what?" I couldn't stop myself from questioning him. However, it seems as if he intends to resolve the issue between us since he was already outside the door. I saw him, and I had no choice but to chase him even though it was pouring fiercely.
Due to the size of his footsteps, I had difficulty following him. He didn't seem to know I was trailing him because his large steps appeared to be typical. As he was not bringing an umbrella, I did not get one. I followed and watched him make his way to the section where I was unsure where to proceed. This is the first time I've seen this road since it previously did not exist.
Even though the path was muddy, he continued to walk while I took each step cautiously for fear of slipping. As we sped away, I saw him ascending the mountain, and fearful of falling, I grabbed the bushes. What I can see is also blurring as it becomes darker, particularly now that night is approaching. Furthermore, there is the rain that falls on my eyes.
"Adonis!"
I yelled his name aloud as he vanished in front of me. I'm terrified to get lost in this area for fear of meeting someone. I watch in horror as killers lurk in the woods, intent on devouring just flesh. I'm hoping they don't do that because I still have a kid who needs to be reunited with his mother.
"Adonis!" I repeated my call to him since he did not seem to hear me due to the torrential rain. I attempted to run despite my difficulties, but I believe I walked on something no longer a solid rock as I was about to fall.
I examined the part where I came dangerously close to falling and was engulfed many times when I saw the edge with no perspective of what lay below. I stared at the grass, which was why I didn't fall, and I wanted to express my gratitude to all the plants for saving me.
"ADONIS!" I screamed loudly to ensure he heard me. I surrendered the power of my scream in order to call his attention. And I was on the verge of jumping because I had managed to get his attention. I watched his eyes widen as he saw me laying down. I first refrained from making any movement out of fear of falling totally.
He raced quickly despite the fact that the water was rushing down the mud at a rapid pace, which may have caused him to slide. I was preoccupied with worrying about what would happen to him if he were to trip and fall in front of me that I failed to see he was in front of me.
"Can you tell me what you're doing here?!" His tone of voice was loud as he lifted my body with both of my arms in his grip. My clothing was now completely covered in dirt, so I attempted to rise despite being embarrassed by my appearance. "How long have you been following me?" He interrogated me, but I did not pay attention to his questions.
At the time of releasing his grip on me, I was in a comfortable position. But I didn't hesitate to take his hand back since I didn't want him to leave me. I was aware of his reaction, so I devised a reason not to totally withdraw his hand.
"I'm afraid I'll trip. You have to keep your hold on me."
"W-what?" I saw how he stuttered as a result of what I said to him. In spite of the torrential rain, I could still feel the flushing of my cheeks. Because of the shame I was expressing, I grasped the back of my neck with my hands. It was as if the phrase had just escaped my lips, and I couldn't stop myself from saying it.
To keep him from telling me anything further, I acted as if I was coughing due to the power of the rain. I was successful because I saw that his eyes were instantly concerned. 'm sorry, Adonis. It was he who dragged me up the mountain to where he was heading. I took a glance elsewhere, where his cabin was located, and didn't even bother to be alarmed since it was pouring outside and I knew Athen would be deep sleeping.
"Where are we going?" I asked him but I didn’t know if he could hear me. We also went carefully since it was growing dark on the route we were on as we were heading away from the house. I couldn't help but have a peek around since I was entirely ignorant that such a thing existed in this vicinity.
For the last several minutes, we've been wandering in circles, and I'm not sure where we're headed. The rain also became more intense. Will he come here on his own if I don't follow him here? He doesn't even seem to be concerned about meeting someone and having to figure out what to do with them.
Our pace quickened as I took a closer look at the path ahead of us. I couldn't help but be impressed when I saw a little rock cave in the distance. Although it is not as large as the others, there is no doubt that its design is really attractive. It's simply that it's too dark to see much because it's already black inside. If we came upon this area in the morning, I'm certain it would be an even more gorgeous sight.
"Can you tell me how you learned about this place?" I wonder.
We are now going to enter the cave while he is still not looking at me. He let go of my hand and walked inside the cave first, where he sat down and rested. I followed and sat next to him and I was almost stunned when I saw the bottom of the cave.
Even when it rains, the streets are illuminated by lights. In fact, because of the rain, it's much more pleasant to have a look at them. My attention was drawn to him since he was just looking down at the light source.
"How did you find out about this place?" I asked the same thing again.
"When you went missing, I searched every inch of the space in which you might possibly have been found. Even areas I didn't know existed were discovered only for the purpose of finding you." He took a minute to fiddle with his index finger, as if he were concerned, and carried on.
"The thing is, no matter how much I liked this place when I first saw it, I can't seem to reach you anywhere."
