Chapter 47: Chapter 47
"You should thank me for that" Diana rolled her eyes shutting the door on his face.
She turned and busted out laughing with Luciana. "Such fools" Luciana sneered as they both continue laughing.
"Okay master Robin, it's quite getting late and I would be on my way now and would come back tomorrow noon to finalize the deal" Arnold said and master Robin smiled widely.
He never knew that boundary was worth so much money and now that he knew, he was going to sell it off and make fortunes from it.
Smiling widely, Master Robin walked back to his chambers. "Call back the mistresses" he said to the guards and walked into the room.

Galene got out of the woods and waited for Arnold. Few minutes later he came out of the castle.
"You have it?" Arnold asked and Galene nodded showing the sword to him.
He smiled and collected the sword from Galene's hands then stepped few metres away.
Galene stare at him as he chanted some words, linking the sword spirit to Damien's spirit. few seconds later, the sword came to light and glowed.
Arnold held tightly to the sword still chanting while the sword continued glowing.
It suddenly spread out lights which hover over them. Galene's mouth dropped open as she stare at the magic in front of her.
The lights from the sword had formed and created a word or should she say some strange letters that she couldn't understand.
It went off immediately Arnold stopped chanting.
"Haram clan, hidden inside a cottage of a woman" Arnold said and Galene nodded.
"Let's go then, if we set out now then we are sure to arrive at sunrise" Galene said.
Arnold tucked the sword under his robe and together they walked to a place where they would get a night carriage.
Luckily they found one who claimed to be retiring in and after offering him double of his price, he agreed and they got set off.
The next morning.. Arise Galene for we have reached our destination" Arnold said tapping Galene's shoulder lightly.
Galene who was awake the whole night and had only slept in the wee hour of the morning groaned tiredly before opening her eyes.
She stared out of the carriage to see they had arrived at the clan. This clan was the most smallest and poorest clan in Carran community.
Most atimes, people do not remember the clan exists and they had no leader.
Galene climbed off the carriage, they paid the carriage riders and began walking into the village.
"How do we locate the cottage father?" Galene couldn't help but ask.
At the outskirt of the clan, the sword will direct of footstep" Arnold said and Galene shrugged.
She never understood how a sword could do all that. Form out words and direct paths." It sure was a powerful and unique sword" Galene mumbled.
"Let us proceed" Arnold said and began walking, he took the left path and started going deeper into the clan while Galene followed behind him.
Galene sighed, they have been walking for close to an hour yet there was still no sign of them reaching and Arnold kept walking, taking different direction.
"Aren't we there yet?" Galene asked, her legs were beginning to ache her same with her waist.
"There is the house" Arnold pointed at a small cottage few meters away from them.
"Galene heaved a sigh of relief hurrying her footstep. She couldn't wait any longer.
She needed to see her husband, to touch him and hug him. To cry in his arms and tell him everything that had happened.
Getting to the house, Galene knocked on the old wooden door. "Hello, how may I help you?" A young girl of about ten years asked, coming out of the cottage.
"Good morning little girl, is there a young sick man in this house?" Galene asked the little girl.
"No" the girl replied sharply. The stared up to Galene glaring at her. Rosanne wondered who the beautiful lady was and why she was asking after her handsome new brother.
"Please, we mean no harm we just want to see him. I am his wife and I am sure my husband was brought here" Galene said and the girl froze.
Wife? So her new sick brother had a wife. But why didn't she take care of him if she claimed to be his wife. Why would her brother bring him to their house if he had a wife that was supposed to take care of him" Rosanne couldn't help but ask herself.
"Little girl go and call your mother" Arnold said to Rosanne who nodded and ran into the cottage.
"Mother some people are here, one of them claimed to be my sick new brother's wife" Rosanne said and her mother immediately stood up, dropping the cassava she was peeling and followed Rosanne to see who those strangers were.
"Quick, go and call your brother at the farm. Tell him what you just told me" Rosanne's mother said to her just before she reached the cottage entrance.
Rosanne nodded and ran off to call her brother who came home last night and had gone to the farm to harvest cassava for their mother.
"Good morning ma" Galene greeted the elderly woman who just came out of the cottage.
"Welcome" she replied and pointed to a bench near the house. The all walked to the bench and even though Galene had no interest in sitting down, she knew she had to.
They cannot just barge in to someone's house and demand a person whom they are not sure was in the house.
"We came to seek for my son whom we were told was here. He disapeared from the castle and ever since then, we never heard anything about him until now.
"Castle? Could the young man in her house be a ruler or son of a ruler?" Rosanne's mother thought.
"I cannot deny the fact that I have harbored a sick young man for two months in my cottage and administering treatments to him but my son was the one who brought him here so you bought have to wait for him to return, Rosanne had gone to call him"
In that case, we would wait for him to return" Galene said in excitement. The woman just confirmed her husband was there and she could not contain her happiness.
Galene wiped off the single tear that dropped to her cheek.
Few minutes of waiting, Rosanne walked back into the compound with a young man who was carrying a basket on his head, his hands holding tight to the farm tools.
The young man dropped the basket and tools, he could see his mother seating at a distance allong side two other people.
Galene turned her eyes to the sight of seeing who the young man was. Her mouth hung in shock.
"Duru!!" She called out in shock. "Yes milady" Duru answered with a bow.
Galene stared at Duru, one of her husband's close warriors. How come he was here? Could he be the one they are waiting for?" Galene wondered.
"Sit down son, do you know this people?" The woman asked and Duru nodded.
"Yes mother. I only know her and she's the wife of master Damien. The young man in our house" Duru answered and his mother stared in shock.
Mas..master Damien? That man is master Damien? The woman asked, her body shaking from both surprise and fear.
How could her son bring in such a powerful man into their house and told her he was an ordinary nman he just wanted to help, does he want to put them in trouble?.
"Milady, I know you must be wondering what master Damien is doing here and why I brought him here for my mother to look after, I would tell you.
"I had overhead Robin telling one of the council elder that the poisonous herbs the physician had been administering to master Damien had no effects on him so he decided to kill him completed by sword on that night".
"Having heard that, I couldn't sit and allow him take the life of master Damien so I pleaded with two other guards and they helped me sneak him out through the secreted passage I found in the library earlier" Robin concluded and Galene burst into tears.
"I couldn't tell anyone and even my mother does not know he was master Damien for fear of being found out so I just kept quiet, waiting for the time master Damien would wake up and fight back those who pulled him down" Duru added with a sigh.
Galene stood up and pulled Duru in an embrace. "Thank you so much Duru, you don't know what you have done for me" Galene muttered weeping uncontrollably.
She couldn't believe Robin also planned on killing her husband. Even though Arnold said the sword's spirit would keep him alive, she still feared for the life of her husband.
What if the sword's spirit failed and her husband dies?" She couldn't help but thought.
"Thank you young man. Can you show us where he is, we have come with a solution to his problem" Arnold asked.
"Okay, come with me" Duru muttered and they all walked into the cottage.
Galene sighted her husband laying on a mat. His face, as pale as a ghost's. He looked so drained and weak.
She ran to him and hugged his body tightly weeping loudly. "My Lord..her voice cracked.
Arnold could not also control his emotions. For the first time in twenty years, he was laying his eyes on his son.
He wiped the tears in his eyes and gently brought out the sword.
Duru who saw the sword shifted back, grabbing his mother. Arnold saw what happened and smiled.
"Do not fear, this is a sword of life and not of death. With this sword, we would bring back Damien" Arnold assured and Duru calmed down.
Tapping Galene to step aside, Arnold bent down and placed the sword on master Damien's chest using his hands to guide them.
He began saying some strange words and Galene waited to see if the lights would appear but few minutes in, the light didn't still appear.
Galene began panicking, lots of thought started flowing into her mind. What if the sword's spirit has forsaken her husband, what if it doesn't wake him up what if the sword has lost its potency to heal. Too many what if's.
She closed her eyes in pain, her heart chattering. Her husband wasn't moving and Arnold had been chattering for more than thirty minutes yet nothing was happening.
She quickly ran to his side and knelt down beside him.
All efforts Arnold made to get Galene away from Damien proved abortive.
He sighed and decided to let her be. He too was surprised at why the sword didn't show any sign on Damien's body.
Galene clutched tightly on her husband's side, tears flowing uncontrollably down her eyes, falling onto his chest.
"Please Damien, wake up please. I need you and our son, he needs you too. The clan needs you and I can no longer live everyday without you by my side" she wailed.
Her voice shook uncontrollably. "If you know you would not wake up then tell me the need to live?
What else would I live for if you are not by my side. I am suffering. Robin, Mariam, they are making my life and that of our child unbearable.
Rise and fight back what belongs to you please Damien" Galene begged.
Master Damien still laid lifeless, Galene stared down at his chest, quickly grabbing the sword.
"Since you do not want to wake up, how would it be if I die and we join you there.
"Since you preferred to die leaving me, wouldn't it be nice if I kill myself here and join you?" She said raising the sword up.
"No Galene please, do not do this to your self, you cannot kill yourself when your husband hasn't been confirmed dead" Arnold pleaded trying to get the knife from her.
"Do not come any close to me. Of what use is it to me when my husband is laying here like a log of wood? You tell me not to die?
What would I live for? My father already sold me off to him and my mother, I know she can survive without me, she had been doing that since I got sold out so tell me why I should not end my life" Galene screamed like a lunatic, her voice rising and echoing round the room.
One could tell how broken she was. Arnold sniffed wiping off his tears. He could no longer control the stream of tears falling from his eyes.
He walked up to his son and crouched. He took hold of Damien's hand as a single tear dropped on it.
"Son, this is Arnold your father" he paused and sniffed. "I am alive and I want to tell you I did not kill my father, your grandfather.
It was Harold who did. I know you might not believe but I have no reason to lie about it. Please, come back to us.
