Chapter 92: Chapter 92

Emelinia stood in the middle of a village. The heavy down pour soaking her to the bone couldn't stop her from looking at what was happening with the pale look of fear. It was so familiar and known to her.

The screams of the people couldn't break the trance she had trapped herself in. All she could think of was the reoccurring nightmare she had many, many years ago. To her horror, it had come to pass and it was just as she saw it.

People ran past her screaming and shouting. They were running away from the army that was mercilessly slaughtering them. Dragons fed on them and blew fire on their homes.

The village was been attacked because King Meelzib was told that it was harboring rebels. This was true because the rebels established the village. One traitor had informed King Meelzib of their settlement and he sent an army to kill them all. Sevilon and Emelinia were shocked to find the settlement under attack when they arrived for a meeting.

"Emelinia, don't just stand there, get out of here and return to the secret base!" Sevilon yelled at her. His voice was rough and angry.

Emelinia was about to say something back at him when she saw a little child go into a house that had a dragon perched on its roof. Emelinia knew that she wasn't to go into the house but she took pity on the child and ran in after him.

Just like in her nightmare, the house was dark but she could still see the destroyed furniture. She looked down for the broken glass that hurt her foot in the nightmare and behold, there it was, glimmering in the darkness.

Emelinia avoided it and made her way into the house. She followed the sound of the crying child and found him kneeling beside the body of his dead mother. Emelinia remembered the part when he was cut in half after she picked him up and she chose not to lift him up.

She looked around for her father and saw him standing right where she saw him standing in her nightmare. He walked toward her and raised his sword.

"When will you ever be a good man?" Emelinia boldly asked Holan.

"Oh so the seer knows that it is not a stranger before her but her father." Holan snickered and stepped into the light of the flash lightening.

"You have finally accepted to my face that you are indeed my father." Emelinia answered him.

"I have only done so because you will not live long." Holan said and went after her.

Emelinia ran away and headed toward the door. She opened it and found the dragon staring at her. She banged the door in its face and gasped when she saw Holan right in front of her with his sword held up high. He forced it down at her with all his might but it was blocked by a spear. Flash lightening revealed the fangs of Jemi.

"Hello princess, we meet again." Jemi said to Emelinia and shoved Holan back. He grabbed Emelinia and put her over his shoulder. "See you later commander." Jemi smirked and launched out of the house.

Holan's dragon blew fire at him and Emelinia while they were up in the air and Jemi threw his spear at it. He landed away from it and ran with her still over his shoulder. Jemi jumped up a tree and leaped from tree to tree until he finally landed. He threw Emelinia off his shoulder and she scowled at him appalled.

"This is the part where you say 'thank you'." Jemi mockingly told her.

"What do you want from me?" Emelinia asked him through her teeth.

"I know that you are a rebel." Jemi said and the MidNight Crawlers came out of the bushes. Before Emelinia knew it, hundreds of MidNight Crawlers surrounded her. "We would like to join your cause." Jemi said to her.

"What?" Emelinia was astonished at his words.

"You see, my master and Boo are still in the dungeon. Form an alliance with us and we will fight alongside you to not only free Sharaina but my master and Boo as well." Jemi told her.

"We accept your deal." Sevilon suddenly spoke up and he and Ouman landed beside Emelinia with thuds.

Jemi grinned. Master they have agreed. He said to Diavinx telepathically.

Excellent. Diavinx answered with a chuckle.

"I'm looking forward to working with you." Jemi said to Sevilon, Ouman and Emelinia.

King Meelzib slashed his sword in the air and a powerful static wave was created. It completely destroyed the highest room where Lalina was being kept hostage. The guards bowed their heads in fear. None of them dared to speak nor move an inch. King Meelzib roared in anger and angrily faced the two hundred guards before him.

"You are all useless! I want her found dead or alive you hear me?!" He thundered.

TWO MONTHS LATER

Sharaina sadly walked into the woods. In her hand was a basket filled with mushrooms. She ignored the sound of the twigs breaking under her feet as she walked.

The sweet melody the birds sang did not lift her spirit. Sharaina suddenly heard a sweet symphony being played ever so tenderly on a guitar. She followed the sound and it led her to a tall tree.

Sitting on a branch was Light. She looked at him with tears in her eyes but he smiled at her. He continued to play and Sharaina lifted her hand up to him. Light stopped playing and extended his hand to her. It was as though both of them had hope that they would hold each other's hands despite the distance between them.

Sharaina put the basket down and tried to climb up the tree but for some reason it was too slippery. She kept sliding down with every attempt. Light watched her futile efforts with a frown. He knew that she wasn't going to be able to get to him no matter how hard she tried.

Sharaina gave up, dropped down to her knees and broke down crying. Light couldn't bear to see her cry anymore and he jumped off the tree. He knelt beside her and hugged her.

"Why have you left me all alone Light? Can't you see that I can't live without you?" She hugged him tight. "My family is gone. I don't know if I will ever see them again. I don't understand why you have all decided to leave me when I need you the most. What kind of life I'm I to live now" She cried but Light said nothing to her.

Light pulled away from Sharaina and the both of them gazed into each other's eyes. He used both his thumbs to wipe the tears off her face and gave her a warm smile. He then placed his hand on her belly and gave it a gentle rub. Light looked back at Sharaina and his smile grew wider. Sharaina couldn't understand why he was doing that. She wanted to ask him why when he began to grow faint.

"Light! Don't go! Stay with me! Don't leave me!" She cried.

He grew fainter and fainter until he vanished into thin air. Sharaina screamed loudly in anguish.

Sharaina opened her eyes only to see a rat sniffing at her. She turned her head and it ran away frightened. She looked around herself and saw that she was in a dungeon. The sound of the chains that bound her to the walls of her dungeon cell confirmed her thoughts.

Sharaina slowly sat up with a moan. She cared less about the dirt on her light pink dress that had holes in it due to the swords that once pierced through her body. Her veil was still on her head but when she looked at her hands she saw that her rings were gone.

Sharaina's tears began to form but when she remembered her dream, she calmed down and held her belly. She couldn't believe it when she felt another energy in her. It felt so warm and sweet that she couldn't stop herself from smiling despite the pain she felt in her heart.

She was pregnant again and this time her baby survived the attack that was waged against her because none of the swords punctured her womb.

Sharaina suddenly sensed that she wasn't alone and she turned to see a short and fat red headed female guard smiling at her through her prison door. She had a warm glow in her eyes that puzzled Sharaina so much that she didn't smile back at her. She watched the guard anxiously look left and right. A look of relief crossed her face and she turned back to Sharaina.

"I am glad that you are awake." She whispered to Sharaina. "My name is Ronitte. I am pleased to have finally met you."
