Chapter 34: Chapter 34
Joanna's POV
"Stop cockblocking me!" Frank whined and glared at Ifeanyi who had a smirk on his lips.
"It isn't my fault you guys didn't look before, you know, started eating each other's face," Ifeanyi blurted rolling his eyes.
"Ifeanyi, get out," I said, in between deep breaths.
"What are you even doing here, and how did you get in?" Frank implored already annoyed.
"See y'all tomorrow, I'm gonna meet Harmony," Ifeanyi murmured in a shrug, ignoring Frank's question, and walked out.
I shook my head at his retreating figure while Frank looked confused and asked, "Are they?"
"Yeah." I nodded, oblivious of what he was implying.
"So you mean they are dating?" He polled, seeming grossed out.
"What the!" I exclaimed in shock, "Francis! eeew, eeew, no! Why the hell did you think that?"
"I don't know!" He retorted in a shiver.
"Okay, I need to get that image out of my head, that's so gross." I gagged.
"Yup, so disgusting." He laughed, "I don't even know why I thought that."
"Deep breaths baby, deep breaths," I chanted while I strived to calm down.
"But do y--"
"No!" I cried out, cutting him off. "Harmony isn't like that, they are both single, so it's just two people hanging out."
"That's the problem, they are both single, anything could happen," He voiced out.
"Just stop! they are getting together as friends," I grunted sternly to which he nodded, a bit frightened at my tone. "Now, where's my Valentine's gift."
"You wanna see it?" He quizzed beaming.
"Yeah," I grinned. He winked and put his hand in the waistband of the towel and pulled it a bit lower.
"God! No, no, no, no." I stopped his hand as he chuckled. "Not that I don't want to see, that! but dude, not yet."
He laughed at me and grabbed my hands afterward, "I got a surprise for you."
I followed him with sealed lips into the living room and was stunned at what I caught sight of. There was food everywhere and you know the best part? there was a round-shaped strawberry sponge cake that had white icing around it and on top, there were words that said Happy Valentine's day baby and beside the cake was a little box.
I opened the box, shocked to see a simple beautiful golden necklace.
It was so glamorous that I couldn't contain myself and squealed before I lunged on him to kiss him everywhere, I even kissed his beard.
See? This was why I loved him, he understood me, Valentine's day cake in my favorite flavor, plus the gorgeous necklace did things to my heart that felt so overwhelming.
"Thank you! Thank you so, so much." I gleamed, offering him a tight hug.
He chuckled, "Where's mine?"
"Here," I voiced out and produced a golden chained bracelet.
"Wow, it's the same design with the necklace I got you," He spoke as he examined the two of them.
"Yeah, it is." I agreed after I had observed them closely.
"I think this is a sign, saying the two of us are meant for each other." He grinned, to which I shoved him and laughed at his cheesiness.
"Now, it's time for food." I blurted and sauntered to where the cake was placed on a rectangular-shaped glass table that had golden legs.
Damn, is there anything in this house that isn't golden or white, I thought as my eyes took in the white walls designed with black and golden circular shapes and the plain white PVC ceilings that also had the same color of circular shapes on them.
My eyes also gazed at the golden chandelier that sparkled above us, down to the cream-colored couch and seats that had golden legs too like the table.
"Always thinking about food." He scoffed cutting off my roaming thoughts and eyes.
"Hey! Don't judge, I love my food." I defended.
"More than me?" He smirked in a query as he slowly walked over to where I stood with a wild, hungry look in his eyes.
"Umm," I cleared my throat, in an attempt to break the sudden sexual tension.
"You have a beautiful house," I clamored, to which he just chuckled and lent me an intense gaze.
"Why, are you staring at me like that?" I quizzed in between breaths.
"Nothing, you just surprise me that's all." He shook his head and retreated a few steps backward.
I lowered myself on the couch after he said that and kicked off my shoes before I took a slice of the beautiful, delicious cake.
I moaned when it melted in my mouth, releasing a sweet and harmonious taste that could make you scream a hallelujah.
"Please, don't do that, it turns me on." He groaned and gestured to his__, you know, area.
"What the--" I choked as I noticed clear evidence of what he meant.
He snickered and walked away to where I guessed his room was hence he returned, wearing grey sweatpants instead of the towel he had on earlier.
"What movie do you want to watch?" He implored and pulled my head down to his bare chest, wrapping his arms around me.
"Girls Trip." I grinned as I loved that movie.
If you are a girl and you haven't watched that movie, please do, it's hilarious! I'd watched it once then and I was dying to watch it again.
"Why!" He groaned. "Not again."
And did I mention the first time I did was with Frank? Yep, we watched it on his phone.
"Shh, it's starting." I shushed, as the movie began.
"I admit, it was way better this time." He laughed and shook his head.
The movie had ended and I was still clutching my stomach. The part where they said it was beautiful? And should be used as wallpaper? Damn, it still cracks me up till now.
"Yep, it definitely is." I cackled.
"Now, to some music." He winked and gave me a dirty look to which I smirked in return as I knew where this was going, and in case you're wondering, the food was finished by then.
How we both devoured that big cake alone was totally beyond me and I think I was a bit sugar high at that moment.
He switched to a music channel and the song Abule by patoranking came on.
"Come here," He spoke with his hands wide open, inviting me to join him in dancing.
I gave him a dirty smile and slowly catwalked towards him.
