Chapter 72: Chapter 72

“Mommy!”

I slowly opened my eyes and I saw Millie jumping on top of our bed while calling me.

“Wake up, Mommy! It is already morning.” She stopped jumping when she saw that I was already awake and she sat beside me. “Good morning, my beautiful mommy.” She kissed my cheeks. “Daddy is preparing our breakfast.”

I smiled and pulled her closer to me. “Let’s sleep some more, baby.” I kissed her neck and tickled her side which made her laugh.

“Mom! Don’t tickle me!” She tried to get away from me but I hugged her tight so she couldn't do anything but laugh. “Mommy! Please stop!”

“Hey…”

I stopped tickling Millie and we both turned our heads at the door. We saw Enver entering the room with a tray full of food in his hand. We immediately got up and took the pillow out of his way.

“Breakfast in bed for my lovely ladies.” He put the tray in bed and kissed Millie and my forehead. “Let’s eat here so you don’t have to get up.”

“Well, I am still sleepy but this little lady woke me up to have breakfast with you.” I messed Millie’s hair up.

“You can sleep again later,” he said. “Let the maids take care of everything for dinner later. I will also bring Millie to school so you stay here and rest, just like what we agreed on, okay?”

I nodded and didn’t argue with him since we already talked about this. I will not do anything but rest and sleep for the whole day.

“Mommy…” Millie called me while eating her sandwich. “Is it true that my grandparents will visit later?”

“Yes, baby,” I answered. “So, I am expecting you to behave, okay?” I don’t have any idea how they will treat her. Even though they are longing for a grandchild and can’t wait to meet her, it is still possible that they might say anything bad since they don’t really like me.

“Don’t worry, Mommy,” she happily said. “I will give my best behavior.”

“You don’t have to do that, little girl,” Enver said. “Just behave like you usually do.”

“But—”

He shook his head. “If they can’t accept you as what you are, then, it is their loss. You don’t have to do something out of the way from what you usually do.”

“Okay.” I turned to Millie. “Just don’t be rude to them and respect them even if they say something about me.”

I want her to learn how to manage her temper just in case they talk bad about me. In any case, she has this habit of reasoning with people older than her if she hears something she doesn’t like so I had to tell her.

“Aye, aye!” She saluted and continued munching her food.

“But are you really sure about this?” Enver asked me for the last time. I can see in his face that he doesn’t like this idea but he chose to support my decision. “You can still back out. I can reason with them.”

“I am sure about it, hubby,” I said. “I can’t hide Millie from them forever. And If I keep them waiting for so long to meet her, they might lose their patience and make a drastic move that might worsen our situation.” I smiled at him to show that he didn’t need to worry about me. “Let’s just hope that they will behave, even just for Millie’s sake.”

We continued eating our breakfast and after that, they took out our dishes. Millie will prepare for her school and Enver will take care of her.

And I entertain myself using my phone. Scrolling through my social media accounts while exchanging messages with my friends.

Just like Enver, both of them were also worried about my sudden decision to invite my in-laws.

They kept bugging me to agree to let them join our dinner to make sure that my in-laws would not gang me up. But I won’t be able to fix everything between us if I won’t accept them as part of Millie’s life.

Slowly, Enver and I were able to secure Raiden’s future and my connection to other industries will now be enough to ensure that Don Emil will not dare to do anything against my family. And as we continue this, I don’t have to worry about them because I know that they will only suffer if they try to make me angry.

So, if it happens, I can finally drop my guard against them without worrying that they might take away my daughter.

If it was just me, I don’t really want to associate myself with them anymore. It is actually better if we just cut our ties with each other.

But it doesn't work that way.

They are still Enver’s family. And it is not a good model for Millie to see that we don’t have a good relationship with her grandparents.

And it is only right for my husband to get along with his family again.,

We may not like each other but for the sake of my husband and daughter, I will do my best to show some respect to them.

We don’t have to pretend that we like each other. We could just treat each other casually. We also don’t have to socialize with each other. I just want them to think this kind of thing and behave to become a good model to Millie.

I immediately covered my mouth when I felt like my stomach turned upside down. I kind of felt nauseous and after a while, I immediately ran to the bathroom and started throwing up in the toilet.

At first, I didn’t vomit anything. I was just so nauseous and I don’t understand why. Eventually, I threw up everything I had eaten earlier.

Shit! What the hell is happening? I feel great just now.

Did I eat too much breakfast that made me throw up? Or is there something wrong with the food?

But Enver cooked that himself. He knew how to handle everything carefully so I am sure that it is not the reason why I am feeling shit now.

I looked at my phone and realized something when I glanced at the date.

Wait… I opened my calendar and saw that I missed last month’s menstruation. And it has been one and a half months since my last period.

I slowly held my belly. Am… am I pregnant?

I mean, we did it every night, a couple of times if we had more free time and Enver always poured everything inside me so this is not something that I should be shocked about. It is just a matter of time for it to develop but I didn’t expect it to be this early.

“Mi!” He was already kneeling beside me and his face was filled with worry as he held me. “What happened to you? Why are you sitting here in front of the toilet?”

“Ahm…” I don’t know what to say. I am not sure if I am pregnant. It was just a missed menstruation, nausea, and vomiting he gave me this idea. It is still not enough to confirm that theory.

I don’t want to give him hope, in case that this is just a false alarm.

I took a deep breath and smiled at him. “I am fine. I think I ate too much earlier so I threw up some of it.”

“Are you sure?” He helped me get up and went back to bed. “I can—”

I shook my head. “You promised Millie to take her to school today so don’t let her down,” I stopped him before he could even propose any idea. “I am really okay. I just need some water, then I will go back to sleep.”

He sighed. “Fine. Stay here until I come back, okay?” he instructed. “If you need something, call the maid.” He gave me a glass of water that I immediately accepted and drank.

I gave back the glass to him and smiled again. “Please don’t worry too much. I will stay here and just sleep.”

He nodded and kissed my head. “You better be.” He tucked me in and kissed my lips. “Sleep again.” He left the room.

After just a couple of minutes, I immediately took my phone and called Ferry.

“Hello!” She greeted me after answering my call. “Did you change your mind and let us join the dinner you will have with your in-laws?”

“No,” I immediately answered. “That is not the reason why I called.”

“Oh,” she said. “Then, what is it?”

“Call Castiel and tell her to buy me at least five pregnancy test kits,” I said. “Make sure not to show those kits to anyone, okay? After that, both of you come here.”

I didn’t hear any answer from her so I checked my phone. I thought the call ended but that isn't the case.

“Ferry!”

“Oh god! You are pregnant, too!” she shouted.

“Stop screaming!” I exclaimed. “I am still not sure so please shut your mouth up!”

“Who was that?” I heard Lainz’s voice in her background. I guess he heard Ferry’s scream which made him check on her.

“Milan,” Ferry answered.

“She is pregnant?” Lainz asked.

I just sighed and shook my head. It is my bad to call her first, instead of Castiel.

“She is still not sure,” Ferry answered her husband again. “Anyway, Milan…” She switched back her attention to me. “I have to go. I will call Cas immediately.” She didn’t wait for my response and just ended our call.

I took a deep breath while staring at the ceiling of our room. I placed my hand on top of my belly and caressed it.

If I am really pregnant, I guess I have to change my lifestyle from now on. It will not do good for me and the baby if I keep working so hard.

Even though Enver is with me during this pregnancy, I still need to take care of myself and be cautious about everything.
