Chapter 70: Chapter 70
After a while, we decided to go back to Millie and our friends. I am already feeling alright so I think we can’t let this vacation go to waste just because of me.
Millie immediately approached us as soon as she saw us. She ambushed us with a tight hug and I know that it is her way of saying that she is worried about me.
So, I gave her a lot of kisses to let her know that I was okay.
Enver lifted her and brought her to the seaside and played with the other kids and guys there. And I went to Ferry and Castiel who were only sitting in the sun lounge.
“Did you tell him everything?” Ferry asked me.
I sat beside them and shook my head. “I just told him the minor details.” I fixed my eyes on Enver and Millie while playing in the sea. “Not that I don’t want to tell him but my headache keeps attacking me whenever I dive too deep into my memories of that incident.” I sighed and turned my head to them. “And because of that, he stopped asking and didn’t force me to say anything else. So, I just suggested to him that he can ask the two of you.”
“Oh,” Ferry said. “I will be happy to tell him every single detail of that incident.”
“We already told you before about this, right?” Castiel said. “But you keep dodging this situation and insisting that he didn’t have to know it.”
“Well, maybe because I was too scared at that time,” I said. “There were so many things that were happening in our lives back then and I am afraid that it would add stress to him if I did say anything. You know, he might not be able to bear all of the worries and just give up on me.”
“I understand your worries, Mi…” Castiel sighed. “But don’t you trust his feelings for you back then?”
I looked at Enver again.
He was chasing Millie in the water and they were happily laughing, together with others. “Not telling this to him before is not about his love for me, Cas,” I said. “It is just, I don’t believe that there is a perfect person in this world. Everyone has their weakness and limitations to the problem that they are facing. And in my mind, those times were not the right chance for me to tell anything related to that incident.”
That incident was a huge blow in my life. Whether I like it or not, it would affect Enver in anyways so I had to make that choice for us to move forward.
Besides, I had been dealing with this trauma alone before I could even meet him. So, continuously dealing with it alone again, even after we got married, is not that hard.
We still have a lot of time ahead of us and it is not really required for us to know everything about each other immediately. I can tell him everything when the right time and chance comes to us.
Well, I think that is also what makes our relationship last longer, despite everything that happened. Every day in our lives, we still keep finding new things to each other that surprise us.
“I will not assume that you are now ready to face this,” Ferry said. “You still can’t even tell him everything.”
I shook my head. “Not yet. But I will try not to run away again from it.”
Right! I might still not be ready but if a situation comes that will force me to face it, then I will put up all my courage and fight it.
No more running away.
I looked back at my friends and gave them a sweet smile. “Well, I guess I have to thank you again.”
They both frowned their foreheads.
“Thank you for coming into my life and being friends with me when I really need one.” I was fortunate when I met them in those times when I didn’t know who to trust anymore. They stayed by my side even though I didn’t have anything else to offer to them. “I am really glad to have you both.”
“Milan!”
I chuckled when I saw them trying to hold their tears back. “Seriously?”
“You are being so dramatic.” Ferry rolled her eyes, but she still couldn't manage to stop her tears from falling down her cheeks. “Well, I am also glad to be your friend.” She took a deep breath and looked me in the eyes. “And we will always be best of friends. Forever.”
“Yeah,” Castiel agreed. “Best friend forever!”
Yeah, I am truly fortunate to have someone like them. Not everyone is bound to have someone in their life who will accept them for who they are. Not everyone is lucky to have someone who will stay by their side, despite their flaws and imperfections.
I am what I am not because these two supported me and didn’t leave me.
We hugged each other for a while and after they let go, I helped them wipe their tears.
“Then…” Ferry looked at me.
“Are you going to help her?” Castiel continued. “That Amethyst?”
I didn’t hesitate to nod. “I guess it is finally my time to help others. Just like how you helped me before.”
I don’t plan to meddle in everything. It will not do any good to her if I shoulder everything just to fix her situation.
I will just give her a slight push for her to realize that she should be doing something.
She needs to learn how to fight for herself. Because not everyone will stay beside her to fight for her battle. Just like what happened to her when those people who she thought were her friends left her and even bullied her because of something that she didn’t do.
She was left behind by her so-called friends because she never thought of protecting herself. She always depends on others for everything, even finding her husband. That is why she can’t do anything but wait.
“What are you going to do to help her?”
“I will try to get any additional information about the case of her husband,” I said. “And I will coordinate with her family so they can start investigating the possible reason why people keep resurfacing the issue of her being a suspect in that case.”
I can only give them ideas on what they should do today.
“It will not be easy since a lot of people were already investigating this case but it resulted in nothing. But I need to give them another possible perspective that they failed to consider because they were only focusing on the obvious,” I explained. “So, that is where I will start.”
“Okay,” Ferry said. “But you still have time for that? I mean, you are still busy with Raiden, right? The fourth branch is still not open.”
I shook my head. “I am done with my work,” I answered. “We have already filled up all the vacant positions for every shop and the fourth branch is nearly done. Other projects are still in discussion so I have a lot of free time now.”
Well, I guess it happened because I was too worried that it might hinder our vacation so I immediately finished everything before this day came. Besides, I also don’t want everyone at Raiden to work overtime again because it also drains their morale since they can’t spend that time with their loved ones.
“Last question,” Castiel said. “Do Enver know this?”
I nodded. “Of course.”
They looked at each other and sighed. Then they looked at me.
“Then, we will support you with what you want to do,” Ferry said. “You just have to make sure not to push yourself too hard, okay? This is still a similar situation you got before so it might trigger a lot of memories from what happened to you.”
“Be careful, Milan.”
Remembering what happened in the past might be painful to me as I proceed to help that woman. But I think it will also help me face the real process of my healing.
So, I am ready for this.
