We already set everything in our lives.
I also settled Millie’s situation so I am kinda relieved that Enver’s parents would not just show up in front of her.
That is why I decided to focus on my job at Raiden.
And when I arrived at work, I was greeted by the expansion project of the Raiden.
“Is this serious?” I asked Enver after I saw Lucien’s proposal. “Our partnership with Anox was just getting started but you are already deciding about this.”
He sighed. “Adding another branch was not really in my plan before but because of the result of the partnership, the existing shop of Raiden couldn’t accommodate every client that visits our shop.”
“Every shop is getting crowded and the supposed spots for other car brands that also have a partnership with Raiden were taken by Anox,” Lucien added. “If it continues, our partnership with them might get damaged because we are too focused on Anox.”
Anox has great promotions when it comes to its partner dealers. Ferry also promotes Raiden at Arch Fend since she is also the face of Anox. Castiel features the company in her magazine weekly. And because of it, we are getting a lot of customers.
A lot of people from middle-class families choose to buy their Anox car at Raiden Shop using the installment program we have. And aside from them, we also have a lot of customers from high-class families who choose to buy their cars at Raiden rather than their previous dealers.
Most of them were influenced by our former clients who bragged about the service of our sales associates. Others were influenced by the promotion we got from Anox, Ferry, and Castiel’s magazines. And some were convinced by our sales agent in the field.
“Do we have enough funds for expansion?” I turned my head to the head of the finance department who will provide the funds that we need for this project.
He nodded. “We have enough funds for every ongoing and planned project for the whole year. So, adding another branch will not give us any trouble.”
“What about the location?” I turned my eyes to Lucien since he was the one who proposed this idea. “Did you find a good location for the fourth branch?”
He nodded and gave me the survey of the land that he chose for the project. “I already talked to the owner and they are willing to rent or sell the land.”
Hmm…
Having a fourth branch in the city is not really a bad idea. I once visited one of the branches near this office and I saw that our sales associates were having a hard time entertaining everyone.
We are not only serving the people living in this city. A lot of people travel from another city and province just to buy their car in our company.
I looked at Enver. “I guess we do really need it.”
I am just Enver’s secretary but since I am also his wife, he told me that he will ask for my advice once in a while for the decision that needs for Raiden.
That is why they presented this project to me.
He nodded and turned his attention to all the head departments of Raiden. “Let’s continue this meeting tomorrow. I will tell you my decision.” He put all the papers in the folder and gave them to Mikea. “Dismiss.”
They packed their things and immediately went out of the conference room. Until we were the only ones left here.
I locked the door first, then sat in his lap. “From the looks you had earlier, I am sure that you already have a decision on what we are going to do with this project,” I said. “So, why do you have to tell them tomorrow?”
He put his arms around my waist and put his chin on my shoulder. “I just want to discuss something with you first.”
“And what is that?”
“It is about the land where we might build the next branch for Raiden,” he said. “Do you want to buy it and put it under your name?”
“Huh?”
“I just remember what you said before,” he added. “You need assets to make sure that you will not lose to my family if they decide to bully you again.”
“What about it?”
He sighed. “To be honest, I don’t really understand why you have to do that. Well, I guess everything changed right after I met Millie. You did all of it to make sure that no one will be able to take her away from you.”
I nodded. “Yeah, that is my main objective why I needed a lot of assets under my name,” I said. “We both know how your family moves so I am just taking some precautions so we will not live in fear that they might take Millie away from us. I also don’t want any unnecessary trouble in Millie’s life just because of our past.”
“I understand that now,” he said. “So, I was thinking that it would be better to put the land under your name and Raiden will just pay rent to you yearly.”
I stared at him for a while and raised my eyebrows. “You are making a way to give me additional money.”
He was stunned and looked away. “O-of course, not!”
“I know that kind of look, Enver.”
He scratched his head and sighed. “You are being unfair to me, Mi.” He buried his face in my neck and hugged me tight. “I built Raiden for you and our family. I take care of it and make it successful for me to provide everything you need. You are the only one in my mind when making my way in this industry and hoping that we will be together again while I am working here.” He sighed again. “But you don’t want to accept anything from me, aside from your salary as my secretary.”
Well, I guess I just don’t want people to think that I am after his money. And by doing this, we can avoid someone who might meddle with our relationship again.
“I don’t have enough money to buy that land, En,” I said. “I already spent my savings because of the assets that I bought last month.” I bought our current house and additional two cars. The first car is for Millie while the other one is for me. The old one that I am using was stuck in our house so we will have a spare car just in case.
“Then, I will use my money,” he said. “You can just pay me back whenever you want or you don’t really need to pay me back since what is mine is also yours. That is an additional asset, right?”
He looked at me and I can see in his eyes that he is hoping I would accept this.
“En…”
“Just this one, Mi,” he insisted. “After this, I will not force you into this kind of idea. I will not force you to accept any properties I have.”
He never treated me badly throughout our relationship. He never neglected his responsibility as my husband and he provided everything I needed.
That is why there are still times before that I question why I doubted him and his feelings for me.
And now that we got back together, he did everything to help me with everything I wanted. Even if he doesn’t really agree with it, he never stops supporting me and just tries to be considerate and understanding of my decision.
I sighed. “Fine.”
His eyes widened as if it was shocking to him that I agreed. “Really?”
I nodded. “But like what you said, just this one, okay?”
His mood lightened and nodded. “Yes, just this once.”
Yes, he built Raiden with me in his mind but we already have Millie. It will be good for us if he focuses on everything he has for our daughter’s future.
We are not just a couple. We have our family now. And everything we are working for right now is for Millie’s future, and if we are fortunate, for her siblings.
“Then, let's start taking care of that land first.”
