Chapter 47: Chapter 47
It was such a great party. Everyone was enjoying themselves, especially right after the program and the alcohol started to serve. And the live band that I hired started performing on the stage. Most of the people are dancing on the platform that we set up in front of the stage.
Well, there is no problem even though everyone got drunk here. I rented a lot of rooms on the three consecutive floors of this hotel for them to use once they are drunk enough or they want to rest. I also added a lot of security at the elevators to ensure that only people on our part are allowed to step on those floors.
And the hotel is always ready to help us if ever some of them get too drunk since I already talked to the management and gave them a heads up about what might happen.
“Milan…” Mikea called and immediately came to me. “You need to take Sir Enver home.”
I frowned. “Why?”
She pointed in the direction where Enver was and I saw that he couldn’t stand straight anymore. I also noticed a bunch of alcohol bottles at the table beside him and that made me realize that he was already drunk.
“He was totally drunk and needed to rest. Lucien tried to take him to the rooms that you rented but he refused,” she added. “He said that he will be going home to his house.”
I shook my head and sighed. “I told him not to drink too much.”
“Well, you can’t blame him. Just like everybody else, he just wanted to celebrate this big success,” she said. “Just take him home so he can rest.” She took a table napkin and wrote something on it then gave it to me. “Every weekend, he is going home to that address so please take him there, okay?
She didn’t wait for me to respond and run away from me.
And I just sighed again, stood up, and went to Enver. “Hey…” I held his shoulder and slightly shook him. “Enver… Enver…”
He slowly opened his eyes and looked at me. “Hello, wifey.” He gave me a sweet smile and it looked like he was trying to look cute in front of me.
But I was too taken aback when he called me with his endearment that we had when we were still together but I just shook my head and held his hand. “Let’s go. I will take you home.
“Will you come home with me?” He stood up. But I immediately hugged him to support his body before he fell to the floor. “Please come home with me, wifey.” His voice almost cracked and I think he was close to shedding tears so I caressed the back of his head to calm him down.
“I will come home with you.” I put his arms on my shoulder and put mine on his waist to support him. “Just behave and let me walk with you, okay?”
I noticed that Ferry and Castiel turned in my direction so I just signed to them that I will be taking Enver home and I will let them handle everything here. Mikea is also here and she didn’t drink any alcohol so I guess I don’t really need to worry about what is left here.
They nodded and waved at me.
And I started to walk with Enver outside the event room.
Other employees didn’t even notice us so we got outside without interruption.
Lainz met us outside. “Oh, that man got drunk too much,” he said. “Are you going to take him upstairs?” I hired him for added security to ensure the safety of everyone at the party.
Well, as Lancelot said before, we can’t be so sure that Raiden’s competitors in the industry will not do anything to harm us.
I shook my head. “I will drive him home.”
“Oh.” He nodded. “I guess the rumor about him not wanting to sleep in a hotel room is true.”
I frowned. “What?”
“I talked with his former friend, Spencer Seavers, and he said that Enver never once stepped inside a hotel room right after he got back to his training of handling his father’s company,” he said.
“Why didn’t he tell me that?”
He shrugged his shoulders. “I guess it is not really necessary since he doesn’t need to sleep in a hotel again when he gets back here,” he said. “You know, he has you and his home here.”
As far as I know, Enver doesn’t have a problem sleeping in a hotel room. And since he was often out of town when he was still working at his father’s company, staying in the hotel was the only option he got.
It is almost like the hotel where he stayed became his home because he sometimes stayed there for almost a month or more.
So, it is really a mystery to me why he didn’t want to sleep in a hotel room anymore.
“You can just ask him if you want to know,” he said while helping me with Enver as we walked towards the car that was parked outside the hotel. “You can start with that, right? Asking him what happened to his life when he decided to stay here with you. Or why he suddenly decided to come back here even though you know that he will be managing his father’s company.”
“What are you talking about, Lainz?”
“We all know it, Milan,” he said. “You are afraid to hear his side of the story. You are afraid of what you might know about his reason for cheating on you. And if you are still not ready to hear that, why don’t you start with what has changed in his life since then.?”
“Why don’t you tell me what you know?”
He put Enver inside the car and faced me. “It is not my story to tell,” he said. “Just be brave and ask him yourself because you are being unfair to him.” He tapped my shoulder and left us after he gave me the key.
And I just sighed and entered the driver's seat of the car. I looked at Enver who was sleeping peacefully in the passenger seat.
I am still scared but I guess, Lainz is right.
If I am still not ready to hear his side about the cheating issue, I can just ask him other things about what really happened to him and what makes him decide to come back here when it was clear to both of us that his father wanted him to stay out of town to handle their company.
I can just change the subject rather than not talking to him just to avoid the topic because it is really so unfair to him.
I held his face and caressed his cheeks. “I am sorry for being unfair, En,” I mumbled. “I was just being too careful because I am not the only one who might get hurt if I make a mistake again about our relationship.”
I need to think about everything carefully because it is not just about me anymore. Millie is always part of it and her feelings are the most important thing for me.
And I will do everything I can to make sure that she will not get hurt. Even if I had to sacrifice my happiness in the process.
I put his seatbelt on and started to drive the car.
When we reached the major road, I took the napkin where Mikea wrote Enver’s address and my eyes widened as I saw it.
I just sighed again and started to drive the car again towards the direction where Enver is going home now.
