Chapter 42: Chapter 42

“Is that all?” I asked Lucien and he immediately nodded.

Well, they just finished presenting the project that they are planning to do together with Raiden after the deal we had with Anox. And I already finished giving them pointers on what they need to adjust about it.

And I didn’t realize that we did it in just a short time.

“All of your pointers have been noted and we are going to start revising the project presentation,” Lucien said.

It doesn’t really need to change anything about it. Just a minor adjustment and their presentation is good to go so we finished it earlier than I expected.

I sighed and stood up. “Okay. If you need anything else, I am at Enver’s office.” I tapped his shoulder and walked toward the office.

To be honest, I just wanted to make myself busy so I stop worrying about the result of what Enver is trying to do right now.

I know I told him that I trust him on solving this matter but I still can’t help but worry about it since we don’t really have any idea who wants to sabotage Raiden.

I want to do something. But unfortunately, I can’t think of any idea that might help us in this situation to ensure the success of our deal.

I sighed again. And I was stunned to see that I was already on the floor where Enver’s office was. Maybe I was so preoccupied with my thoughts that I didn’t even notice immediately the man standing in front of the office’s door.

“Ahm…” I tried to catch his attention.

He turned to me and smiled.

“I am one of Enver’s secretaries.” I came to him and offered my hand. “Milan Escuero.”

He accepted my hand and shook it. “Karyu Flynn.”

I let go of his hand after the introduction. “What can I do for you, Mister Flynn?” I asked as I guided him inside Enver’s office. “Mister Andrius is not here as of this moment but I will convey what you came here for.”

“Oh, I am not actually here for him.” He comfortably sat on the sofa and looked at me with a smile. “I am here for you, Miss Escuero.”

I frowned and pointed at myself. “Me?”

He nodded. “I have some business with you.” He pointed to the sofa in front of me, telling me to sit there first. “Please have a seat first and let’s talk about the deal that I will offer to you.”

I am confused.

I don’t know this man yet but he is saying that he is here to offer some deal to me?”

“Well, it has something to do with the last potential customer that you need to secure a permanent partnership from Anox.”

My eyes widened because of what he said. “You…”

He nodded as he kept his smile. Like he is enjoying the problem that we are experiencing right now. “Looks like I got your attention. “He pointed at the sofa again. “Please sit down first.”

I was hesitant at first but seeing the situation right now, I guess I don’t really have any choice.

If what I am thinking right now, this man is the one who talked to the potential client of Raiden so they would back out in their application.

“So, I will introduce myself again,” he said. “I am Karyu Flynn, the one who is sabotaging your deal with Anox.”

“Why?” I asked. “Why are you doing it?”

“Well, let’s just say that it is personal,” he answered. “I have a huge grudge over Enver and I wanted him to suffer as I did.”

I clenched my fist.

Now I realize, this might be the reason for everything that Enver did in the company of his father. All those decisions that his father forced him to make.

I am aware that his father’s company hurt a lot of people. They ruined a lot of competitors’ lives without even thinking twice. And I guess he is one of those people.

“You should know that Enver was only—”

“Obeying his father’s order,” he said and nodded. “Yeah, I know. But in the end, it was still his decision whether he will execute that order or not, right?”

Then, he is really targeting Enver.

And because he knows that Raiden is working together with Anox and its partnership is still weak, he used it to make problems for us.

Damn it!

“So, as I told you earlier, you are the reason why I am here,” he said. “And I am here to make a deal with you since I heard that you are the one behind the success of Raiden for the past three months.”

I glared at him. “What deal is it?”

His smile became even wider. “I know about your relationship with Enver Andrius,” he said. “You are his wife and from the observation that I conducted in the past months when you met again, I guess I can assume that he is still in love with you.”

“It seems you are not updated on our status,” I said. “But we were already divorced. We are not together anymore because he cheated on me. So, what makes you think that he is still in love with me?”

He pointed at the picture frame that Enver put on his table. “Because I know that it is you who was in that picture, right?”

I didn’t say anything.

But what he said makes me think that he has someone inside the Raiden that gives him the information he needs to set his revenge plan. But who the hell is it?

The only people that I investigated are those who are related to Raiden’s competitors or related to his father.

This man seems not part of any company. He is doing this personally.

“Anyway, let’s cut to the chase.” He leaned his back at his rest and faced me. “Leave him as soon as possible and never let him see you forever. Do that and I will stop sabotaging your project.” He showed me his cell phone. “Well, just so you know, I already have the phone number of the remaining five clients that you have and just one message from me, they might also back out from their application.”

“Is that all you want?”

He nodded. “I just want him to suffer by not seeing you again. I think it is enough for me after all the suffering he caused me.”

I stared at him. I am not sure what to think about this deal but seeing his upper hand, I guess I don’t really have any choice.

“I need to think about it.” I looked him straight in the eyes. “Give me until five pm today. I will tell you my decision.”

He put a business card on the table in front of us and stood up. “Then, give me a call at exactly five pm. And just to secure this agreement, I will also leave this.” He put a piece of paper on the table.

“A contract?”

He nodded. “I just need to make sure that you will honor your words. It is legal.”

I stared at the contract and saw that it has a legal seal. It also has a signature so I nodded and took all of it.

“I will call you right after I make a decision.”
