Chapter 37: Chapter 37
“No!” Mikea firmly said after her sister explained the reason why she went to Raiden.
When she arrived, we immediately entered Enver’s office and we let them talk to each other first. We don’t want to meddle for now, especially when it is a family affair.
It might anger Mikea even though we just want to help.
So, we decided to hear them out first and let Michaella talk about all her reasons why she keeps insisting on working. At the same time, let Mikea talk about why she keeps stopping her sister to work.
“Dad already talked to you, right? You can’t work as long as you are still studying,” Mikea added. “Why don’t you just listen?”
“Because I can see that you are struggling with the problem that I created,” Michaella answered. “It is my fault that Mom got a heart attack. So, why don’t you just let me help? At least lift this guilt that I am feeling for putting her there.”
“You are a graduating student now, Micha. What if you neglect your study because of the job that you are insisting on?” Mikea said. “It will give more problems to our parents if you don't graduate within this year.”
“But—”
She sighed. “I know that you are feeling the guilt of what happened to Mom,” she said before her sister could even speak. “But you will only make things work if this situation affects your school. Making you graduate is the last thing that they want so please be a good girl and stop this nonsense.”
Michaella didn’t respond after that. She just stayed there, bowing her head, crying.
“Let us worry about the hospital bills,” Mikea added. “Yes, we are struggling but we all have savings that we can use. We are just planning on how to budget it since we originally plan on using it on other things before.” She breathed deeply and looked at us. “Milan, Sir Enver. Sorry for this inconvenience. We didn’t mean to bother you.”
I shook my head. “We have spare time for the rest of the day so don’t worry about it,” I said. “But I think you should hear your sister first.”
She frowned. “Huh?”
“Well, she is as stubborn as you are,” I said. “And I think if we don’t give her the job that she needs, she will still find it somewhere else. And you will never know that.”
She turned her eyes back on her sister. “Michaella!”
Michaella immediately ran to me and hid behind my back. “She is right!” She said, “No matter what you say, I will try to find a job. I am part of the family so I want to help.”
“I already told you—”
“And who even told you that I can’t do a job and school at the same time?” Michaella immediately cut her sister off. “Like what you said, I am already a graduating student. I only have a few subjects that I need to take. And I am only busy because of the research and thesis that we are doing as a group.”
“Next month, her OJT will start, right?” I said.
“Milan…” Mikea stopped me. “Please, don’t…”
I frowned. “Why?”
She sighed. “If it is you who said something, I am sure that you already have a solution to this problem that will surely favor that sister of mine.”
I smiled. Well, she really knows me. “The solution that I thought will not only favor her side,” I said. “It will also help you even though you are on leave. Both of you will earn money without being present at the physical store of Raiden.”
She stared at me and I can see in her eyes that she is interested in what I am saying.
I looked at Enver to get his opinion.
I already talked to him about this earlier when we were on our way back here. But it was just an idea and I didn’t expect that I would offer this job to Mikea and her sister.
He nodded, a sign that means he agreed to the idea that I told him earlier.
I turned my eyes to Mikea again. “I am sure you are aware that Raiden is having a hard time reaching the target market of the high-end Anox cars,” I said. “We can’t dispatch our sales associates to the possible location to promote the project of the company because they are busy working at the shop since the launch of a temporary partnership with Anox gathered another batch of new customers.”
“So, you want to hire a promoter?” Mikea said.
I nodded. “It will be a commission-based job. You will promote Raiden and high-end Anox cars wherever you want using the new method that we have. You will talk to people. You will explain everything to them and if they are interested to learn more about it, you will give them your referral.”
“And we will get paid if they buy the high-end Anox car,” Mikea concluded.
I nodded again. “Though, you can also promote the other cars in Raiden’s brochure. But the priority is the Anox car because it is the backbone of the deal we had with Anox,” I explained. “You will have twenty percent of the down payment and you will get it the same day they buy the car.”
They didn’t say anything. They are thinking it through and after a while, Mikea nodded.
“Not a bad idea,” she said.
“I have a lot of friends who want to buy a car,” Michaella said. “They have stable income through their parents and part-time job but it will take them years before they can buy it using cash basis.”
“And I have—”
“Yes,” I said, stopping her from saying anything. “I actually thought of this way with you in my mind because I know you have a lot of friends that might be interested in the project that Raiden has.”
Mikea stared at me.
“All you have to do is bring a potential client. If they bought the car, you will earn,” Enver said. “Isn’t that a great deal?”
Mikea sighed and sat on the sofa. And this time, she doesn’t look mad anymore and she is more relaxed right after hearing what I just said.
“This is basically the reason why I don’t want you to know our current situation,” she said. “I know that you will do something to help.”
I smiled. “It was just a coincidence, Mikea,” I said. “Raiden has a problem, you have a problem. Then, I found an idea that will solve those two problems at the same time.”
She raised her eyebrows at me. “And how did you know that I have a problem?”
I chuckled. “You know that you can’t really hide that kind of thing from me, right?”
She just sighed again as she realized how I knew that.
Well, she is always with Millie. And that little girl loves to gossip. And she might look like playing but she is listening to the people who talked around her.
And she will tell me all about it.
So, when I learned that Raiden is having trouble with promoting our project and finding clients for our target cars, I started to think about what I can do to solve both of the problems.
“So, does it mean you will give me a job here?” Michaella asked.
“As I said earlier, your sister needs to agree first,” I said. “The final decision rest in her hands.”
We all waited for Mikea’s decision who was busy thinking.
Then, she sighed and nodded. “Knowing Milan, I am sure she already prepared everything before I could even arrive.”
I smiled. “Maybe because I know that I will be able to convince you.” I took out some folders in my bag and gave it to them. “I already prepared the contract. Read it carefully though you don’t really need to worry that much since it doesn’t have too many restrictions. It was just for formality so when someone questions why you are promoting, you can say that you are affiliated with Raiden.”
I know it is not much but I hope it can help them with their current situation.
