“You have been working for me for almost a month but this is the first time you invited me to have some snacks with you,” Enver said while we are eating the food that he bought from a fast food chain.

And since he bought too much, we were unable to set it inside his car so we decided to stop by at the nearest park to eat all of it.

“Are you starting to get comfortable with me around you?”

“You know that I am just being professional when I am working with you,” I said. “And I am just hungry and you are already with me so I invited you.”

“So, you are still not comfortable with me around?”

I shook my head. “Let’s just be honest with each other, okay?” I faced him. “You are my ex-husband who cheated on me. And I am your ex-wife who just left you without even saying goodbye. Five years later, we just happened to meet again without any warning and since then, we have only focused on working on this project. Do you even think that it is that easy to get comfortable with you?”

“Then, do you want to talk about it?”

I immediately shook my head again. “Not now, please.”

He frowned. “I have been dying to give you my explanation yet you don’t want to even hear it from me?”

“We are still working with each other for the permanent partnership of Anox and Raiden,” I said. “I don’t want any distraction so please don’t say anything about what happened five years ago. I will let you explain and I will also explain my side at the right time.”

Though, I am not really sure when is the right time.

To be honest, I am afraid to hear the reason why he cheated on me.

He will probably say that I am bored with everything so he can’t bear to be with me anymore. Or he will probably say that I am not good enough, especially when it comes to bed so he finds someone else.

I don’t think I can take it after hearing it from him.

“Besides, we don’t really need to dig up everything that happened before,” I added. “It has been a very long time. We already moved on so let’s just continue our job together without mentioning those nonsense things.”

I just need to bear two months. After that, I can finally be free again from these feelings. And I am sure, I can finally move on once I don’t see him anymore.

We might see each other again but I don’t have to talk to him because he is not my boss anymore once this is all over.

He didn’t say a word so I just focused on eating again. Well, this is better.

He is better off without me. He already achieved everything in his life when I was not with him. He finally got free from the control of his father.

And this is just proof that he didn’t need me in his life.

After we ate, we immediately went back to the office and I just sighed when I saw another commotion in front of the receptionist of Raiden’s office.

We immediately ran towards there and my eyes widened when I saw what was happening there.

“Michaella?” I didn’t expect to see Mikea’s younger sister here.

“Milan!” She said goodbye to the people that she just talked to and came to me.

“You know her?” Shanna, the receptionist of the Raiden office, said. “She has been here since lunchtime saying that she is looking for someone but she didn’t want to give the name so I just told him to stay where I can see her.”

“She is Mikea’s younger sister,” I said. I pulled her away from the receptionist. “What are you doing here?”

“Ahm…” She scratched her head. “I learned that this is where Mikea works so I thought of applying here.”

I frowned. “What?”

“We are getting short on money since hospital bills are getting expensive,” she said. “And I wanted to help even just for a while since it is my fault why Mom is in the hospital.”

“And you want to use your sister’s position just to get here?”

She nodded. “This is the only thing that I know I can get a job immediately. And using her position might help me get here as soon as possible.”

“Does your sister know about it?”

She shook her head. “I told them that I want to help and find a part-time job but they said that I should be focusing my attention on my studies,” she explained. “They said that they will handle everything about Mom’s hospital bills but I can see that they are struggling with it.”

Well, she is a graduating student so she should really focus on her studies.

“But as I said, it is my fault why Mom is in the hospital so I really wanted to help,” she insisted. “Even just for a while. Until mom got out of the hospital.”

I scratched my head.

As much as I want to help her, I can’t just decide to meddle with their affairs because Mikea might not like it. And I am not sure if Raiden is hiring a part-time worker that will match her class schedule.

“Milan…” I turned to Enver as he got to us. “She is Mikea’s sister, right?”

I nodded. “Have you already met her?”

“I just saw her at the hospital when we visited their mother.” He turned to Michaella. “Hi, I heard you need a job?” He offered his hand in front of her. “I am the owner of Raiden.”

Michaella’s eyes widened in shock but she immediately accepted Enver’s eyes. “Y-you are my sister’s boss?”

Enver smiled and nodded. “Yeah.”

Did you hear our conversation?” I asked and he nodded.

He let go of her hand and turned to me. “Bring her to my office and call Mikea. Let’s talk about this there so we can settle it.” He left after that.

And I immediately called Mikea to tell her the situation here.

And as expected, she was shocked to know that her sister is currently at Raiden, which is why she immediately left the hospital. Luckily, her father is already there to accompany her mother.

She just dropped Millie off at Paige’s house since that woman’s class is already over.

After that, we went up to Enver's office but we decided to stay outside first to wait for Mikea.

“I understand what you want to do, Michaella,” I said to her. “But you shouldn’t just go there without even talking to me or your sister. You know that her position is still not permanent here and she just got a huge favor from her boss so she could get indefinite leave without losing her job.”

She sighed. “I am aware of that, Milan,” she said. “But I am too desperate. And in my mind, Mikea’s boss is nice so I was thinking that he will give me a job even just for a while.”

I shook my head.

It looks like she has already decided to find a job. And if she can’t get it here, she will still try to look somewhere else. Any job will do for her, as long as she gets money to help her family.

“Okay.” I breathe deeply. “I have a job that is perfect for your schedule.”

“Really?” Her eyes looked like they were shining as soon as I said that.

I nodded. “Yes. But…” I sighed. I am not sure if this is right. “...you have to convince your sister first.”

“Eh?”

“I will explain to her what kind of job I will give to you,” I said. “And if she agrees with it, you will start as soon as possible so you have to give me your class schedule for the next two months.”

“Ah, I already have that.” She took out a paper and immediately handed it over to me. “I am aware that I can’t neglect my study. That is why I am aiming to have a job that is fit for my class schedule.”

Well, it looks like she knows what she is doing.

“Okay,” I said. “Let’s wait for your sister.

I thought there will be no problem that we have to face for the rest of the day but I guess, things that are meant to happen do come at an expected time.
