Chapter 35: Chapter 35

“No! I want a high-end Anox car!” That scream greeted me as soon as I entered Raiden’s shop.

There is a commotion beside the counter where Enver was still talking with an old woman. And from what I heard I think she is one of the customers that keep insisting on buying Anox cars even though we have a policy regarding that specific car.

“Are you not ashamed of what you are doing?” the old woman said. “I am one of your regular customers here, right? Every time you launch a new model or brand of car, I am one of the first customers who buy it to support you. But what the hell are you doing now?”

“Madam, we appreciate your support to our company,” Enver said with a calm voice, though I can see in his eyes that his patience is at its limit. “We really do. But those high-end Anox cars are here for a purpose. We cannot sell it to you. I am sorry—”

“Shut up!” she screamed again. “I don’t care about any of that. I already said what I want and you will give it to me right now!”

“What is happening here?” I whispered at one of Raiden’s sales associates, Dani.

She turned to me. “Ahm, she is one of the five customers that insist on buying the high-end Anox cars,” she said. “Sir Enver managed to calm the other four with the promise that we will sell another batch of Anox cars two months from now.” She looked again at the old woman who kept screaming at Enver. “She is the only one that remains and doesn’t want to deal with anything.”

“So, you decided to close the shop just to deal with her.”

She nodded. “She is making a scene. And the other customers that entered together with her earlier got scared because of what she is doing.”

“Oh.” I nodded and turned my eyes to the customer.

She doesn’t listen to anything that Enver said. It is like she is trying to reach everyone’s patience even though they keep saying that the car that she wants is not for sale to her.

Then, I looked at Enver. I can see the irritation in his eyes but he was still trying to control his temper because the woman in front of him is still his customer.

I sighed.

Dealing with customers is not easy. Especially when the customers are too entitled to think the shop will never get a profit if it is not because of them.

I guess I have to do something about it.

I took my phone out. Search for the contract number of a friend who can help us in this situation. And when I saw it, I sent her a message and I just smiled when I received a reply from her.

After a while, the old woman received a call that made her stop nagging at Enver. She took out her phone and her eyes widened as soon as she saw the screen.

Then, she went far away from us and answered her phone.

“Please ready your legal team,” I said as soon as I got near Enver.

Enver frowned and turned to me. “Huh?”

“That woman is reselling the cars that she bought here,” I said, which shocked them. “You have the policy that the customers agreed where they cannot sell the car that they bought here within three years of its warranty, right?”

That policy was made by Raiden so the warranty that they are offering to everyone who bought a car to them will not be taken advantage of. And to make sure that the benefits of its warranty will be enjoyed by the one who bought the piece in their shop since it has a lot of inclusions that takes care of the customers and the cars.

He nodded.

“That woman, she sold the car that she bought right after a month.”

“How did you know that, Milan?” Steph, one of the sales associates, said.

“Ahm…” I scratched my head. “I know her employer.”

“What?”

I nodded. “She was only using a credit card to purchase the cars, right?” I said and they nodded in response. “She doesn’t have a huge amount of money in her bank account to pay the monthly bill for the car that she bought, so she sells it to someone else in cash and that is what she is using to maintain her cards.”

“And she is selling it at a higher price so she could also profit from it?”

I nodded again. “It was her side job.”

I just happened to see a little information about her in our database. And I saw where she works and I confirmed it to my contact.

And because that woman is such a talkative person, she told me that this woman always brought different cars every month. And after that, she would ask her colleague to buy that car for her.

It is against Raiden’s policy and they are aware of it. Before they could make the transaction of buying the car, the sales associates are obliged to explain their policy.

So, she can’t use the ‘I-didn't-know’ card to escape the lawsuit that Raiden will file against her.

“Ma’am,” Yucia called me. “Can we just let this go? I mean, she is already an old woman. It will be cruel to put her in prison.”

I shook my head. “You are not doing charity here,” I said. “You are running a company where a lot of employees are dependent. If you let this one slide, other customers will not respect your policy and it will only bring nothing but trouble to Raiden.”

Everyone agreed though I can see that they are hesitant about this action. But like I said, they have a company that depends on every action that they make.

“I understand,” Enver said. He took out his phone and called his legal team.

I let him talk to them and I went to the old woman who had just finished talking to whoever was on her phone.

She turned to me and I could see that she was about to cry. “M-Miss…”

“You are not welcome here anymore, Madame,” I said, giving her the sweetest smile that I have. “High-end Anox cars are not for sale to people like you.”

“W-what?”

“And please tell whoever hired you to make a scene here that they will not succeed in bringing Raiden down,” I firmly said. “Not on my watch.”

I told the security to escort the old lady out of the shop. Then I breathe deeply before turning my head to the sales associates who are waiting for their signal.

“You can now open the store again,” I said. “And if they ask those people who are waiting outside, explain to them everything that happened here. Don’t leave any information behind, okay?”

“Yes, ma’am!” And they immediately move.

This is just the beginning of our problem. I still have two months to keep those people from ruining the Raiden and it is not going to be easy.

I just hope Enver’s father is not involved in anything like this.

“So?” I asked Enver as soon as I get near him. “What did your legal team advise?”

He looked at me and sighed. “Just like what you said, they also said that I should stick to the company’s policy. So, they will start gathering evidence to work on a case that we should file against her.”

I nodded. “Good. But don’t let it bother you. She will learn her lesson from this.”

He sighed again. “But I am impressed that you got that information without the result of the job you gave to your friend.”

“I know a lot of things around me, Sir Enver.” I emphasize the word ‘sir’ because I can see that he doesn’t want me to call him that. “I am not naive when it comes to your company even though I am just one month here.”

“I am aware.” He smiled. “You have been studying all the previous documents about Raiden and its transactions so you will become familiar with the whole operation from here at the shop up to the main office.”

“Well, I do have a job to do,” I said. “And I guess, both of us did a good job today.” I feel relieved now because I know we will not encounter any problems for the rest of the day. “Wanna have some snacks before we go back to the office?”

He was stunned by that question. And so am I. But I made sure to pretend that it was just a normal thing to do.

But deep inside my whole body became tense. And my mind kept cursing myself for suddenly inviting him like that.

“I kinda feel hungry.” I slowly turned my eyes away from him and made it look like I was just looking around. “If you don’t want—”

He held my hand and made me stop talking. “Let’s go.”

Before I could say anything, he pulled me towards the exit of the shop. He just left some instructions to the manager before we finally got out.

“Where do you want to eat?” he asked. He let go of my hand as soon as we get in front of his car.

I breathe deeply again to calm myself. Having him hold my hands is such a big mistake because I feel like my heart is going to explode. “L-let’s just going to the drive-thru,” I said. “We don’t have much time to go to a restaurant.”

“Okay.”

We rode in his car and I just let him choose what we were going to eat since he knows that I am not a picky eater, especially when it comes to snacks.
