Chapter 99: Chapter 99

CHAPTER FORTY TWO

Two old friends were together as both of them took a sip of their coffee in silence. Nothing was spoken from their mouths that could cut through one's soul, and just be with each other's presence instead.

Suddenly, a gush pain passing by that left the woman of the two to hissed in pain, feeling herself being burned. Wincing, she put down the mug in order to ease the agony with her healing spell but nothing works until the one across just stared, raising his eyebrows.

"Is it acting up already?" A smirk curved up onto one's lips, just doing nothing but look at the woman who was squirming around on her seat.

With a groan, Hanisha snapped. "Shut up."

The man snorted, rolling his eyes as his hands travelled to his scarred cheeks, tapping it with his index finger. "Let's see..."

He acted as if he was thinking something but he knew what was happening to Hanisha.

"S-She dared to break the spell?" Hanisha growled, gritting her teeth as she glared at the man who was being so ridiculous as of the moment.

"What's with that look towards me? I ain't doing that shit towards you."

"Why are you and him so different when you two are practically the same?" She snarled, grasping her chest that was having a fire inside.

"That man is surely different from me," He licked his lips. "Let's just say that I was dumb back then to not be able to change my destiny."

"Does it hurt still?" He asked, changing the topic as he playfully pouted. "I wish I could help you, but I'm not a witch."

He pursed his lips, adding as he glanced at Hanisha who was still flinching from the pain. "I guess she's starting to remember, and there's nothing you can do about that."

He put down the mug of coffee. "Perhaps, it's her destiny as well."

"Why do you favor her such so?!" She snapped, clenching her jaw.

"I'm not favoring her. I'm just complying to destiny." He chuckled bitterly. "Don't be selfish, and just get out alive."

"You do know that if this destiny will happen, we will both—" She shrieked in pain.

"Min Ha Na, how dare you?!" She yelled while the man just watched her in amusement.

Ha Na abruptly sat up, gasping for breath as she panted heavily with sweats forming on the side of her head. Her chin trembled, lips parted and clutched her chest as she tried to breathe in and out, relaxing herself a bit.

What was that dream about? Who was that man?

She was dreaming of her memories, yet she couldn't identify the people around her dreams. She was breaking through the spell that Hanisha put on her.

Her eyebrows furrowed, feeling a warm contact on her other hand and glanced down to her side to see a black haired man. In rapid, she removed her hand as the man stirred in his sleep, and a throaty groan escaped from his mouth.

One could hear the hoarseness of his voice as he tried to mumble incoherent words from his lips, and causing Ha Na to take a glimpse at the man.

A gasp released from her lips when she realised that it was Jungkook, and to think that the man looked ill with those pale lips and sweat beads on his forehead as he was heavily panting as well.

Jungkook squirmed on his seat before fluttering his eyes opened, and weakly stretched himself out. He forced his eyes to open, only to meet wih Ha Na's brown ones before giving a small tender smile.

"You're awake—"

"How is it that I am here?" She questioned as she was baffled because as far as she remembered, she was at the prison cell and trying to look for Kiana there.

"Yoongi hyung said someone found you in the prison cell, so he had to go there quickly to rescue you along with those physicians." Jungkook answered mindlessly, still his mind wasn't properly functioning as he blubbered words without any awareness.

"Physician?"

"It's because you lost consciousness there," He continue to grumble, yawning before answering again. "Because you were bleeding down—"

His eyes widened, stopped his words when he realized what he almost said.

"Bleeding—" Ha Na uttered, completely confused. "What?"

"You got wounded." He quickly said, avoiding any awkward tension as he didn't want to reveal that he was bleeding because of the baby reacting to its mother's weak state.

"Oh—" She cooed nodding, before looking at Jungkook's odd hair. "But then what's wrong with you?"

The Alpha's hair has strands of white hairs that was mixed along with his black hair. It made the lady wonder if he was that sick to the point he would grow odd hairs. Does wolf gets white hairs if they're sick?

"What do y-you mean?" He shuddered, feeling chills all over his body before rubbing his arms to give himself heat.

Even though what Jungkook did with Kiana was truly hurtful in Ha Na's part, she couldn't bare to get mad at him—at least not yet.

Considering how ill the Alpha looked right now. She was completely oblivious that the Alpha was reacting to something that no one knows about except a certain person— Hanisha.

With that, Ha Na spent the entire night, taking care of Jungkook who insisted to just leave him be but Ha Na was being stubborn, and just ended up taking care of the Alpha.

"Is my son, fine?"

"We don't know yet, Tía." The physician answered, cowering himself. "The Alpha refused to get treatment, and just stayed with the Luna the whole time."

"I shouldn't have punished him like that." Caroline started to panic, pacing back and forth as she ruffled her hair. Regret filled her mind when the image of the Alpha breaking down in front of her room during punishment played.

Hence that, she didn't go to check his son who was at his room with Ha Na, and just got updates from the physician. Besides, he refused to let anyone near his room after the physician treated Ha Na who almost lost her child.

What worries her more was the condition of Ha Na who wouldn't be able to bare the powerful child inside her, being a human only.

"Tía." A voice with sourness and bitterness came from behind as she looked over to see Jimin standing there with his eyes flashed red, palms clenched into fist that knuckles are already turned to white.

"Jimin?" She squeaked, raising her eyebrows before looking at the physician to get out of the room.

As soon as the physician got out, her loving and caring mother instinct went all out. "What are you doing here?"

"You knew all along, do you?"

"What are you talking about, Jimin?" Caroline asked, slightly taken aback by the sudden attack of the Duke.

His eyes were red, and Caroline was aware of what it means. She didn't want to get a Duke to get mad at her though she doesn’t have any idea as to why he is acting this way.

"You knew about Seokjin hyung?" He huffed in disbelief. "You knew about Jungkook being Seokjin hyung's son yet you didn't even talk him."

"What?"

"You two really hid away from hyung very well after a thousand years. Yet even at his death, you didn't even gave hyung a chance to introduce to him his own son nor give Jungkook the chance to know about his father."

Caroline was in no doubt speechless as she just looked flabbergasted and overwhelmed. Anxiety rises up as her lips and chin shakes in fear. "D-Don't tell Jungkook please!"

"What the hell? Even after informing you, you still won't—"

"If he knows!" Caroline wheezes, tears tickled her cheeks. "He'd experience what I experienced too."

"You —" The Duke took a step forward, eyes unwavering with her. "You don't want your child to know about his father?"

"If my son knows, how devastated would he be to know that the father he was longing for was all along alive but then just recently died without a chance of making his father proud."

"What?" It was Jimin who was completely flustered now.

"All that my son wanted was to have a father for him to show off his achievements too." She pursed her lips into thin line. "To show how great of a son he would be towards his father."

She clenched her jaw, chest burning in longing for her husband's presence. "He wanted to be the son that could make his father proud."

"So please don't tell a thing to Jungkook." She pleaded, falling on her knees as she sobs that struck through Jimin's heart, painfully

"Because I, too!" She yelled, tears now flowing. "I didn't know that my husband was alive all along yet I was blind not to see him nor tried to find him."

She begged, elbows on the ground now as she cried softly. "Just please don't tell, Jungkook."

There was a moment of silence between the two, no one shared a word and just the sounds of wails echoing throughout the room. Jimin inhaled sharply, closing his eyes tightly before mumbling. "How did you do it?"

"What?" Caroline looked at him.

"How did you managed to make Jungkook that —" He gulped, opening his eyes. " —that tall?"

"What are you —"

"How is it that Jungkook grew up so fast in just a span of what? Four months!" He snapped, giving a pierce ice look.

"My best friend —" she stuttered, goosebumps rising on her skin that showed fear towards the Duke as she was quick to respond without any hesitation.

"My best friend was a witch, and helped me suppressed the child since it wasn't legal a thousand years ago. So the consequence of the spell was he will never grow unless he had to die in his mate's arms. And he died back then." She said, partly telling the truth.

Ha Na was the one who was able to save my son, and I couldn't thank her enough. She thought, without any awareness that Jimin could hear it, and it caused him to freeze with eyebrows knitted.

Ha Na? He wondered. What could Ha Na possibly do to save Jungkook, Seokjin’s son?

"Ha Na? Mate? Was the Luna the one who saved your son?" Jimin shook his head, thinking that he might be wrong. There could be one Junsoo in this era, but surely, there would be a lot of people named Ha Na.

"How did you...?"

"I can hear thoughts, a Duke's special. Now answer me." He snapped as he demanded.

She nodded, giving him the glossy and moistened eyes as she stifles. "My son died in the Luna's arms in order to break the consequence."

"You said a while back that a witch helped you, right?"

"Yes, a witch." She nodded, hesitantly and looked at him who just looked horrified. She was startled when the Duke looked at her with petrified expression.

Jimin screeches. "Do you know how witches could be so cunning?!"

Caroline shook her head, defended. "My best friend wouldn't lie to me."

"Trust me, they're more ruthless and cruel than most of us here." Jimin scoffed in astonishment.
