Chapter 50: Chapter 50

CHAPTER FORTY EIGHT

"It's you."

Jun took a deep breath, surprised by his tone. "What about me?"

"This l-letter." Jimin stammered, lifting the letter for him to see—earning a widened eyes from Jun. "Were you the one who sent it?"

It took Jun a full 5 seconds to stare at it before he nodded reluctantly. It was true. While he was outside the palace, he was all along trying to find the eldest Duke’s child whom he saw not long ago. He was sure it was Seokjin’s child as the Duke's blood runs in the child's veins.

His reason of not being present in the palace was that to find Jin's child, in which he did and immediately sent a letter to inform him but he was guessing that the letter might've not landed in Seokjin's hands knowing the Duke's condition in the prison, and Jimin having the letter instead.

Jun wanted to tell Seokjin when he saw him at the dungeon while he was stationed there for awhile as one of the guards and Seokjin's right hand guard. But Jun was too caught up to tell Seokjin about it because of the order to find find Ha Na and Jimin—He knew the Queen being a human.

Thinking about it, the scent that lingers around the ring that Seokjin gave him awhile ago has the same scent he smelled the night when he and Jin went to run after the girl in the forest. Even the smell in that area, he still find it so addicting to him. It was a scent that was mixed with a human, a vampire, a pup werewolf, and Dukes.

He found out that Jimin must've been there together with the 'Queen' considering his scent was in the forest that night along with ring's scent.

"How did you know that Seokjin hyung had a son?" Jimin hissed with piercing gaze at the vampire earning a snort from the other.

Jun scoffed in disbelief, crossing his arms over his chest before rolling his eyes. "It's ridiculous how you didn't know about his son when you eventually met him?"

Right. Jun could've expected that Jimin would know about Seokjin's child. But he was still confirming whether Jimin was there in that forest or not.

"What are you talking about?" Jimin's eyebrows furrowed, flustered, and stared at the man in front of him.

"That night." Jun smirked, emphasizing the word 'night'. He wasn't sure about his words, but it was worth a try. "The night when you met the Queen. You were there right?"

"What?" Jimin's stomach dropped to the ground. He was caught in a lie. He has been caught.

"The child who was with Ha Na." Still unsure, he analyzed everything. The queen was with a pup—a pup that he found lifeless back then.

"What about the child?" Jimin raised an eyebrow, confused by what the young vampire was trying to convey but soon his jaw dropped. "That pup is Seokjin hyung’s child?"

Jimin met the child—Jungkook was his name, as far as he knows. Jimin knew that little clumsy child was a werewolf. Is that why when he met the child that night, he felt somehow odd? About having the same and familiar scent surrounding the child that night?

He knew that there was something special about the child but he didn't know that the child would have Jin's blood running in him. And the child could be a werewolf mixed with vampire, right?

"It's unbelievable how you didn't even figure out the child as Seokjin hyung's child, when you yourself has a speck of werewolf's bloodline."

Jimin froze making Jun having the chance to provoke the Duke.

Jun chuckled with a smirk plastered across his face. "Your werewolf blood mixed with a vampire blood was all over the area that night."

Jimin was dumbstruck and flabbergasted as he tried to step forward. "How—"

"Just like what I said, I can smell your mixed blood." Jun retorted and sighed. It's not even a surprise to him that Jimin has a werewolf blood running through his veins. He had smelled it right when he was introduced to Jimin.

And to think that Jun knows about Jimin's true identity? Jimin was amazed by how powerful Jun's smelling ability is.

Jun added, chuckling bitterly. "You even hid the fact that you sweat and gets warm all the damn time from the Dukes. Guess your werewolf side is showing."

(author's notes: remember when jimin dreamed? He was sweating and warming, and quickly loosen up when hoseok entered. That was my clue. Remember, a vampire don't sweat.)

Jun didn't even want to hear Jimin's reaction and just goes along with what he wanted to tell him. "That child is still alive somewhere. He got Jin hyung's blood running in his veins after all, he can't die like that."

"I don't understand you!" Jimin yelped, surprised and questions rose in his mind. "And what do you mean he is still alive?"

Jimin choked, adding—astonished. "He died?"

Jun huffed in annoyance. "Jin hyung and I was there when we saw the lifeless kid on the ground. He got Jin hyung's blood running him."

"He's really dead?! How?" Jimin gasped, still unaware that Ha Na accused him of being Jungkook's murderer.

"Really." With one word, Jun confirmed it making Jimin let out a deep breath. He somehow felt pity over the child. "And I don't know how but I guess it was a vampire."

It was a vampire—Jun was familiar with, again. Knowing the strong scent around the area, he knew that Jimin, Ha Na, the girl, and the pup wasn't the only one there. Another person with a strong scent went to that forest.

"But...." Jimin stood straight up, looking directly at Jun's eyes. "Why didn't Jin hyung sensed the child's scent?"

"Because Jin's smelling ability is limited unlike the two of us who have extraordinary ability." Jun retorted and faced Jimin. "That is not important now. The only important thing right now is to find that child. He's Jin hyung's child, a mixed of werewolf and a vampire."

"Are you sure that the child has vampire blood?" Jimin asked, raising an eyebrow.

"It's Jin's child after all, right...?" Jun started to wonder.

Jimin shook his head in disagreement. "I couldn't sense any vampire scent in that child. But I could sense Jin hyung's blood in him."

"You're not making any sense." Jun huffed, crossing his arms over his chest. "Then are you saying that Jin hyung had a child before he was turned into a vampire?"

Jimin nodded, hesitantly. "Jin hyung mentioned to Hoseok hyung and I that he had a wolf wife when he was a human. But it couldn't be his wife's child, right? The child is still so young when everything happened a thousand years ago!"

The eldest Duke once mentioned about his wife to Hoseok and Jimin when they were drunk. They knew except for Namjoon and Taehyung.

Jimin let out a massive exhalation and eyes widened. It was possible yet the big question was, how is it that Jungkook is still a child when Seokjin only had a wife a thousand years ago?

"A human and a werewolf? Wasn't that forbidden in the wolf clan thousands years ago?"

Jimin nodded, remembering about the law that maybe the reason why the couple separated. He even saw Jin laying lifeless back when he was turned into a monster like him. The only person who knew the whole truth was Jung Hoseok—the weakest and the last human who was turned among the Dukes.

"Shit." Jun muttered and looked at Jimin, panicking. "Jimin! It's not the time for us to talk about Jin hyung's past!"

Jimin busted out from his daze before looking back at Jun.

"You need to save Jin. I think there's some commotion going on in the palace right now." Jun bit the insides of his cheeks.

"What about you?"

"I have to find Seokjin hyung's child!" He exclaimed, groaning.

"I could find him too." Jimin offered.

"Don't!" Jun yelped making Jimin flinched. The Duke seemed confused as to why the vampire was acting like this.

In Jun's perspective, Seokjin needed Jimin more in the palace as he remembered his words saying that Jimin will save the chaos in the palace along with Ha Na whom he had to find later.

Jun sighed. "Trust me."
