Chapter 99: Chapter 99

A slender light on the side flickered quickly, dazzling her eyes. She closed her eyes for a moment, but then quickly returned to normal. After all, Ethan hadn’t spoken yet, so she naturally couldn’t move around.

Ethan didn’t notice the light flashing at her, so he was naturally a bit unhappy.

"Why did you close your eyes? Can’t you endure for a couple more seconds?" Ethan scrutinized the previous photos. He wasn’t particularly satisfied, so his tone was quite harsh.

"No, my eyes just felt a bit uncomfortable earlier, sorry." Quinn Lockwood glanced around at the staff manipulating the lights and controllers. They all looked at her with schadenfreude. She couldn’t determine if someone meant to embarrass her on purpose or if it was simply an accident.

Forget it, even if she spoke up about this kind of thing, no one would believe her.

"Are you okay now? Then let’s continue."

They proceeded with the endorsement poster shoot for the red diamond series of rings, bracelets, and earrings.

Of course, it didn’t go smoothly. Either the blower messed up Quinn’s hair, or sudden noises interrupted her mood, or the lights weren’t adjusted to the right brightness.

They barely managed to wrap up this set of shots. Quinn got criticized several times by Ethan in a harsh tone. She didn’t explain anything, choosing instead to keep apologizing and adjusting her own state to minimize being affected by the external environment.

Finally, it was lunch break. Quinn sighed in relief. Seeing Ethan focused on the camera’s photos, she wanted to see what the results looked like after a ’turbulent’ morning of shooting, so she went over to watch together.

Since the camera screen was only so big, the two of them had to stand a bit close to each other while watching. Just then, the employee who delivered breakfast to Quinn in the morning saw this scene, quickly took out her phone to take a picture from a corner, then sneaked a glance around. Noticing no one had seen her, she quickly put her phone away and pretended to continue working.

"Although there were many mistakes, I’m quite satisfied with the overall effect." Ethan flipped through the photos for Quinn, his tone rather relaxed and pleasant-looking. He didn’t seem to care about the morning’s little episodes.

"I thought there’d be a lot you weren’t happy with. I’ll work harder for the commercial shoot this afternoon." Quinn smiled sincerely at him. She really admired people who took their work seriously, and moreover, Ethan was young and capable; a bit of arrogance and cunning were just normal for him.

Ethan connected the memory card to the computer to start adjusting the photos. Seeing the charmingly cute girl in the photos with perfectly matched accessories, he displayed a uniquely roguish smile of a young man.

"I’m not that picky. After all, when I took this job, I was prepared to use all my technical skills to save the result if you didn’t shoot well."

"But it seems now I don’t have to hustle so much; this money is earned quite easily after all."

The young man resumed his nonchalant demeanor, resting one hand on his head while lazily scrolling the mouse, making one feel he suddenly appeared unreliable.

Quinn shook her head, thinking, isn’t this guy a Gemini? He just switches personalities like flipping a switch.

"You get busy. I’m going to change clothes." Quinn rolled her eyes extravagantly at Ethan’s self-satisfied look, then went to prepare for the afternoon’s outfit.

Just coming out after trying on clothes, she saw everyone sitting in groups chatting and resting.

Quinn also sat on one side. Watching everyone talking and laughing, she put on her earphones because she felt some vague glances sweeping over.

"Hey, look, this vixen isn’t just seducing our Boss Sinclair but even Mr. Davis." The employee who sneaked the photo of Quinn showed her phone to the person next to her, disdainfully glancing in Quinn’s direction.

"Exactly, I saw it earlier, too. Just shameless, right in front of us all." The other person agreed.

"Well, as they say, it takes all kinds of birds to make a forest~" The employee retrieved her phone, purposely raising her voice as she spoke towards Quinn.

Seeing this, the others hurried over to join the fun. They couldn’t stand Quinn’s previous clinginess to Elias Sinclair, looking down on her immensely.

Suddenly, the phone was grabbed away. The employee frowned, just about to say something, when she heard an icy, serious voice from behind.

Turning her head, she saw Elias Sinclair standing behind them, holding the phone that had just been taken.

The man frowned tightly at the photos on it, glanced at the employee, said nothing, and walked straight to Quinn’s side.

The employee, obviously frightened, stood frozen, not daring to move. Naturally, it wasn’t because she didn’t want to move, but because she didn’t dare move.

The others quickly returned to their positions, not daring to make a sound.

Quinn, engrossed in watching a video with her earphones on, suddenly noticed a figure stopping in front of her. Looking up, she widened her eyes involuntarily—Elias Sinclair?

Elias moved his lips, but with her earphones on, she couldn’t hear what he said. Next, he presented her with the photo where she and Ethan appeared ’intimately close.’

Due to the angle and the fact that Quinn and Ethan were already sitting rather close, with Quinn being quite a bit shorter than Ethan, it looked as if the two were leaning together.

She realized he probably asked what was going on. Quinn quickly took off her earphones and took the phone to closely examine the photo.

Tsk tsk, she had to admit the person took this really well. If she weren’t involved, she might have believed it herself.

"That? I wanted to check with Ethan to make sure the photos were good enough." She shrugged nonchalantly, handing the phone back in response.

"Mr. Sinclair, I was worried Savannah’s behavior might affect the company’s reputation, so I captured the moment simply to warn her a bit." The employee, gathering her senses, nervously explained.

Kevin, having heard about the incident, hurried out from the office. He was thoroughly baffled—he only slacked off for a moment, and such a thing occurred. Boss Sinclair would be furious for sure. ɴᴇᴡ ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀʀᴇ ᴘᴜʙʟɪsʜᴇᴅ ᴏɴ NoveI(F)ire.net

Elias glanced at the employee and the sulking Kevin, pressed his thin lips slightly, then said, "Go inform HR to let her collect her pay and leave." With that, he tossed the phone to Kevin and added, "Make sure it’s all settled. You can forget about your bonus this month as well."

"Got it, Mr. Sinclair." Kevin naturally understood that settling it meant dealing with the photo properly. And losing his bonus this month was entirely expected.
