Chapter 143: Chapter 143
Elias Sinclair exerted just enough pressure to avoid making her uncomfortable and teased with a smirk, "Is it fun? How about I let you enjoy it too?"
"No, no, hahaha," Quinn Lockwood hurriedly grabbed the man’s hand, her face pleading for mercy.
"By the way, since we have the day off, why don’t we go home to see Grandpa? We haven’t seen him in a long time, and I miss him," Quinn suggested, turning to face the man’s clear eyes, quickly changing the subject.
"Hmm." The man slightly curled his lips, but when his gaze fell on Quinn’s chest, he became displeased, and his tone turned cold, "Go pick out something to wear first."
Quinn looked down at her chest, blushing instantly, and turned to adjust her collar.
"Let’s go," Elias Sinclair frowned slightly, pulling her by the wrist towards the car, but Quinn declined.
"What about my car? I can’t just leave it here. How about we each drive our own car side by side?" She turned to head towards her red sports car, only to be pulled back and placed into another car by the man.
"I’ll have Cameron drive it back." With that, the man started the car and called Cameron Grant via Bluetooth.
After they left, a dark figure put away the camera in his hand and quietly followed them...
Along the way, a blue vehicle closely followed them. After Elias took Quinn to pick out a suitable outfit from their family’s mall, they noticed the blue car parked by the roadside, and a glint flashed in Elias’s eyes, sensing something was wrong.
Instead of taking their usual route home, they circled around several times, but the blue vehicle kept following them.
"Have you got the car? Come to The Veridian Bridge area; a blue vehicle with plate number 3600 has been tailing us." His tone was cold, and his gaze in the rearview mirror grew increasingly icy.
"Intercept it from behind." As he said this, Elias slightly eased off the gas pedal.
Quinn kept watching the vehicle behind them through the rearview mirror, noticing a rather large man inside, which made her a bit frightened.
"Um... could he be after me, or did you... offend someone?" Quinn shrank back, looking worriedly at the man beside her.
Elias glanced at Quinn, seeing her worried expression, and raised an eyebrow: "Only when others offend me."
"What are you afraid of? If he’s dared to challenge my limits, he should be ready to face the consequences."
Elias’s deep, stern voice unexpectedly gave Quinn a sense of security, making her heart pause as an unfamiliar feeling spread through her chest.
Just then, the blue vehicle was forced to stop; a series of honking sounds were heard, and Elias immediately reversed his car.
Cameron Grant knocked on the window of the blue car. When the large man inside saw Cameron, he panicked and was about to start the car but was immediately hit in the front by Elias, trapping him firmly at both ends.
Wearing black tailored leather shoes, Elias walked over slowly, looking down at the man inside before dragging him out of the car under the man’s terrified gaze.
"You really have courage." With a cold, fierce stare that lingered on the man, he kicked him, causing the man to clutch his stomach and groan painfully on the ground.
Elias and Cameron hauled the man into a car and took him to their family-owned hotel.
"Who sent you to follow me?" Elias’s gaze emitted a dangerous aura, dropping the room’s temperature dramatically, while Quinn stood on the side, shielded carefully by Cameron.
The burly man, who didn’t appear like some sneaky villain, was now crouched in a corner, looking quite disheveled.
"If you don’t talk, I’m afraid it will be difficult for you to walk out of here on your feet." Elias strode over to the man, his sullen, darkened face resembling a decisive ruler.
The man shivered, hesitated for a moment, and eventually spoke, "I’m a private detective. I only know that my employer is a woman; she only communicated with me via phone and used a voice changer."
This private detective, although not daring to meet Elias’s eyes, sounded firm and sincere, not seeming to lie.
Seeing Elias remain silent, the detective retrieved a business card from his pocket and handed it over, "If you don’t believe me, I have recordings."
Elias glanced at the business card in the man’s hand, signaling him to play the recording. A cute, girlish voice altered by the device emerged.
It was indeed difficult to identify whom it belonged to; it merely instructed him to track Elias Sinclair and Quinn Lockwood and take videos and photos of them together, for which there would be a handsome reward.
"Hand it over." Elias’s cold voice echoed in the room.
The private detective shivered, trembling as he pulled a memory card from his pocket.
Elias took the memory card, playing with it in his hand while coldly glancing at the man before dialing a call, "Send two people over to take him away and check if he has anything else on him."
With his face stiff and stern, Elias stepped out of the hotel, noticing Cameron still following him. Frowning slightly, he asked, "Aren’t you busy?"
Cameron was momentarily stunned, "There’s nothing much going on at my company! What are you two planning?"
"We’re going back to The Sinclair Family to see Grandpa." Quinn twirled a strand of hair, smiling sweetly.
"I see, then I’ll join you. It’s been a while since I visited Grandpa Sinclair, and I can convey my parents’ regards." Cameron’s gentle voice lacked any emotion, and his soft, enchanting eyes slightly narrowed.
Hearing this, the smile in Elias’s eyes vanished instantly, replaced by a wave of displeasure. But without a valid reason to refuse, Quinn’s action at this moment made his expression sink even further.
"Alright, brother, let’s go together then." Quinn’s eyes curved into a smile as she naturally linked arms with Cameron, and with her brother going along, it felt just right; Grandpa Sinclair would definitely be even happier. Follow current novels on noᴠelfire.net
Grandpa Sinclair was so thrilled to see Quinn that he almost didn’t know how to express his emotions.
"Savannah, you heartless girl, Grandpa missed you so much." Grandpa Sinclair, his mustache trembling, tightly clasped Quinn’s hands, tears glistening in his eyes.
Frightened, Quinn quickly soothed his back and helped him sit down, comforting Grandpa while signaling Cameron and Elias with her eyes.
Grandpa Sinclair truly had an old child’s temperament; seeing his aggrieved expression, Quinn couldn’t help but laugh.
"Alright, Grandpa, if you keep this up, even Savannah will be sad." She then made a pitiful face, looking endearingly at the old man.
"Grandpa’s not sad anymore. It’s all this brat’s fault!" Grandpa Sinclair lovingly patted Quinn’s hand before glaring fiercely at Elias.
Elias remained expressionless and then spoke calmly, "Let’s eat."
The table was filled with all of Quinn’s favorite dishes. After eating, Grandpa Sinclair chatted a bit with Cameron about family matters, then suggested Quinn move back home to live with them.
