Chapter 142: Chapter 142
Quinn Lockwood, after several failed attempts at reversing her car, pretended to be anxious and honked a few times, planning to get out and see if anyone could help her. Just as she was about to step out, she saw a man with deep chestnut hair and quite a charismatic demeanor gazing in her direction.
This was a hypocritical scumbag that she would ’never forget’ in her lifetime!
Quinn Lockwood pulled down her collar, picked up a tomato-red lipstick and touched up her lips, then with a seductive and alluring demeanor, she gently pushed open the car door.
The woman walked in black high heels, wearing a v-neck tight bodycon dress, her wavy brown-black hair accentuating her allure, and her slightly furrowed brows conveyed a helpless look that made anyone want to step up and help.
Quinn Lockwood caught sight of a pair of brown bespoke leather shoes entering her peripheral vision, then a magnetic and courteous voice rang beside her: "Hello, I haven’t seen you at the company. May I ask..."
Before the person could finish speaking, Quinn Lockwood looked at him anxiously and helplessly, "I’m here to find Ariana Lynch about the crew contract, but my car is stuck and can’t go in..."
Looking at the woman’s alluring face and her enticing figure, Jonah Hansen was momentarily taken aback, his gaze unable to move away.
Quinn Lockwood observed his expression, a hint of coldness flashed in her almond-shaped eyes, then she bit her lip seductively and said, "Are you from The Lockwood Group? Could you please help me park the car?"
Jonah Hansen snapped back to reality, put on a polite smile, nodded and took the keys from Quinn Lockwood. His movement paused slightly when his fingers touched the woman’s tender fingertips, seemingly a bit distracted.
Seeing Jonah Hansen secretly inspecting her car, Quinn Lockwood curled her lips into a mocking smile.
She knew this person was a complete scoundrel, indeed unable to resist temptation; it seemed driving out this luxurious car was a wise choice.
She could not understand how she could have ever liked such a scumbag back then!
"Thank you so much, my name is Savannah Lowell, pleased to meet you." Quinn Lockwood hid her emotions, blinked her charming eyes, and shook hands with Jonah Hansen. She could clearly feel the man lingering slightly on her hand.
"I’m Jonah Hansen, Vice President of The Lockwood Group." The man slowly withdrew his hand, stood up straight with confidence, his gaze lingered on Quinn Lockwood’s face, bearing a hint of scrutiny. Thɪs chapter is updated by novelꞁire.net
"So you’re Miss Savannah Lowell. I thought you looked familiar, and that aura isn’t something ordinary. By the way, I’ve watched your shows, they’re wonderful." Listening to the man’s deliberate flattery, Quinn Lockwood scoffed inwardly but responded politely.
"Are you looking for Ariana Lynch? She’s probably not at the company now. How about we exchange WeChat contacts, and I’ll inform you when Ariana returns. Plus, you and Ariana often work together in the same crew, it’s convenient to look out for each other." Jonah Hansen’s smile was warm and kind, and Quinn Lockwood suppressed the urge to slap him hard, smiling lightly at him.
Then the two exchanged contact information.
Jonah Hansen was about to invite Quinn Lockwood to his office when a phone ringtone interrupted.
"Excuse me, I’ll take this call." Quinn Lockwood saw Elias Sinclair’s name on the screen, her expression changed slightly, and she walked aside.
"Why didn’t you come to the crew?" A cold voice from the man reached her, sounding somewhat displeased.
"I got held up by something, I’ll be there soon." Quinn Lockwood didn’t directly answer his question but spoke in a polite tone and hung up the call.
"Mr. Hansen, I have some matters to attend to, so I’ll be leaving now. See you next time." Her eyes slightly lowered, each smile and frown seemed to capture a person’s soul.
Jonah Hansen stood there watching Quinn Lockwood’s car vanish in the distance, a glint of light flickered in his eyes, then it darkened as he seemed to recall something.
Quinn Lockwood had originally told the director she wouldn’t be going to the crew, but she didn’t expect Elias Sinclair to come, forcing her to go and check.
But before she reached the crew, her attention was drawn by the sound of a horn.
Seeing Elias Sinclair’s car parked by the roadside, Quinn Lockwood paused slightly, then parked her car beside it.
Elias Sinclair looked at Quinn Lockwood’s red sports car, his brows furrowed tightly, and an inexplicable emotion surfaced in his deep eyes.
This woman hadn’t been so flamboyant for a long time, what on earth did she do behind his back today?
However, when he saw Quinn Lockwood stepping out of the car dressed in a seductive and alluring manner, a flash of surprise crossed his eyes, then his expression abruptly turned icy cold, sending shivers down one’s spine.
Seeing him sitting in the car, looking displeased at her, Quinn Lockwood thought he must be angry she didn’t arrive at the crew on time to shoot, she calmly smiled and knocked on his car window.
The man cast a cold glance at her, then got out of the car, looking displeased at the woman in front of him.
"Where did you go? Why didn’t you explain on the phone?" Elias Sinclair leaned against the car door, raised an eyebrow, his tone carrying a hint of anger.
"Oh, nothing much. Why are you at the crew today?" Quinn Lockwood smiled, her gaze slightly evasive, not knowing how to explain to Elias Sinclair, so she simply chose not to.
Elias Sinclair’s gaze scrutinized her up and down; he knew the woman in front of him was hiding something from him, and his face was now freezing over.
"So you dressed and drove the Aventador out to meet me?"
"Ah? Oh, I was just trying a new style, haha." Quinn Lockwood awkwardly laughed and patted the man’s shoulder, surprised that such a cool and serious boss would be angered by such things.
Looking at Elias Sinclair’s cold and gloomy face, she didn’t find it scary but rather... cute, making her feel Elias Sinclair was much closer, emboldening her.
"Oh dear, but this outfit really isn’t comfortable. Your face looks so lengthened, truly not good-looking." Quinn Lockwood then tiptoed, reached out her little hand, and tugged his face.
Elias Sinclair was stunned by her sudden move, then a fleeting awkwardness crossed his face; as he extended his big hand to touch the woman’s head, Quinn Lockwood deftly dodged away playfully, inducing joy upon sight.
"Dare to dodge?" The man raised his eyebrows slightly, his mouth finally curled into a faint smile.
"Haha, not faster than me." Quinn Lockwood stuck out her tongue, tried to pinch the man’s cheek again but was caught with a rub on her hair by him. She attempted to retaliate but Elias Sinclair’s long arm extended, blocking her.
Quinn Lockwood stomped in frustration, a glint flashed in her eyes, and she tickled Elias Sinclair.
"Impudent!" The man’s cold voice rang out, but without any sense of displeasure.
Quinn Lockwood laughed out loud at Elias Sinclair, seeing him seemingly approaching her, she quickly ran aside, holding a tree as she continued laughing.
While clutching her stomach laughing, she felt a fierce aura behind her, then her neck was suddenly embraced by someone from behind.
