Alexander’s POV

“Stop it.”, I shouted in pain, not able to hide the fact that no matter what she was, she was important to me. “Just let her go, okay! Do whatever you want to do with me.”, I said desperately, knowing that those silver chains would be hurting her like hell.

Immediately the size of Amber’s eyes grew wider, I could guess it was because of shock and something else was there as well, fear?

“I’m your enemy not her. In fact, she’s one of your kind. So, hurt me but not her.”, I added again to convince that man but that bastard chuckled at my misery.

“And there I had heard that you and your father are heartless hunters who give a damn to anyone’s feeling.”, A sinister smile formed on his face before he spoke again. “I tried to kill your father but unfortunately he’s still alive. But no worries, I will make sure to take your life tonight.”

I stiffened at his words, realizing he was the person whom we were searching for from the day of my father’s accident.

I observed four big and muscular men starting to encircle me with a smirk on their faces. I immediately took a defensive position when I heard. “No, No, No, No, you have to stand down and let them attack you. The moment you will try to defend or attack, your precious wife will get bitten by a vampire.”

“No!!”, Amber shouted when I got the first punch on my face.

“Leave him, please!”, She screamed again when the other one grabbed me by my throat. I didn’t know what was more painful, the punches which I was getting or Amber’s painful scream which was breaking my heart.

I was sure that I couldn’t survive today and I had only one regret in my heart that I didn’t tell her what I exactly use to feel for her.

“Kill me but please leave him.” Every time I heard a sound escape her lips I felt a tug at my heart.

It was a fucking torture.

“Aaahhhhhhhhh”, I cried in pain when they broke my right arm.

At the same time, another one of her screams shifted my concentration from my pain to her, I quickly glanced over in her direction, my heart clenched at the look of her face. I observed her expression start getting changed.

Another cry escaped from my throat when I felt immense pain because those fucking bastards broke my leg this time. And that’s when it happened, a terrifying roar echoed in that warehouse like an angry beast. I looked toward the sound of that roar and found the head of that vampire in the hand of a beautiful golden wolf.

I rotated my eyes and looked for Amber but she was nowhere to be found in the fact the silver chain was broken in which her soft and tiny wrist was tied. My eyes were back to the golden wolf who looked pissed and was glaring at everyone.

The golden wolf gowled at that man who was head of all the wolves and then leaped into the ar and crashed into the fight, taking one of the men down with her. And then growled aggressively, letting a loud howl that shook the entire place like a mini earthquake.

I tried to keep my eyes open to see what would happen next but it started getting hard for me because I had already lost a lot of blood and the pain all over my body was getting worst.

That’s the moment that golden wolf turned to me. I looked at it carefully and when I observed her eyes carefully, I realized that the wolf was no other than Amber.

She walked toward me and softly inhale my scent.

I wished, I really wished that I could have seen what happened later but before that, I was welcomed by the darkness.

Amber’s POV

.

I had no idea how to save Alex from those fucking werewolves.

“No!!”

“Leave him, please!”

All I knew was that I watched in horror they attacked him one by one, each throwing punches at his face and body, making his bones and ribs crack.

My wolf which I didn’t have felt for hours started stirring in my mind.

‘Our mate is in danger. Please save him.’, I pleaded to her but got no response from her. I could feel that she was still feeling weak because of the slight presence of wolfsbane in my blood and on the top, my wrist was still tied with the silver chains.

“Kill me but please leave him.”, I screamed, unable to move an inch with that vampire’ stronghold on my head. “Stop hurting him!!!”

No one, no one paid any attention to me plead as they all took turns in punching him in his stomach, I watched in horror as one of them punched him in his face again. My heartfelt like it lost the will to beat after observing the blood dripping out of his mouth.

He wasn’t fighting back!

Damn it!

I have heard from Lily that he could take 2-3 werewolves down even in his human form but he was not fighting back. My heart hurt and the pain and guilt started eating me because he was only doing it for me.

He was here alone even after knowing that he might get killed, only for me.

He was in danger, his life was in sake, just because of me.

The more they attacked, the more I felt my wolf getting pissed, she started to take control of my body. I couldn’t understand why? But I could feel that she was fighting to get free, fighting to save our mate.

Panic shook me when I heard the loud cries of our mate.

The more I saw Alex in pain, the more I started losing control over my body, and at the same time, my wolf was getting pissed. When the second cry escaped from our mate I completely lost it, lost my control on both body and mind as I began to shake uncontrollably. I bit the hand of that vampire as hard as I could, making myself and breaking the silver chain which was holding me as I felt my body begin to change that stupid vampire, came to check on me and that was it, I attacked his neck.
