Chapter 20: Chapter 20
Alexander's POV
.
“Amber, please!!”
She was sitting across from me on the bed and was ignoring me by looking outside the window. It had been 10 hours and she had not eaten a single thing.
“Please don’t do this to yourself, sweetheart!”, I begged. “If you will not eat then..”
“Then what?”, She asked in a cold tone.
“Then I will hurt myself.”
“Sure. Go ahead. Do that and I will do the same.”, She said in a challenging tone.
‘Damn it!’
She was already so thin then why does she have to be on a hunger strike now?
I knew why she was doing this! I knew this was her method to get her things done. It was not that she was doing something else as well. She was acting all normal but she swore not to touch any food or liquid.
I remembered how she was when I had seen her for the first time, weak, fragile and timid. But, now I realized that she had a fierce look in her eyes whenever she was mad.
But that still changed the fact that she looked so fragile like she could break at any moment.
I wish she could understand how much I wanted to protect her! How precious she is to me! I wanted to shield her, protect her, hide her from the world and most importantly my father so that no one could harm her.
I lost my mother in front of my eyes and the guilt of not being able to protect her was still here in some part of my heart.
The mere thought that both Lily and Amber sneaked out of the home, made me furious at Lily. How could she think of attending the party when our father was in a coma and had met a fatal accident because of our enemies. If she wasn't my sister, I would have taught a good lesson but then getting her married to Mr. Davis would keep her safe. Safe from all the danger which she could face just for being a part of our family.
“Fine, do whatever you want to but I won’t change my decision. That’s final.”, I said and slammed the door behind me. I felt bad for being harsh on her but she really needed to understand the situation rather than acting like a kid throwing tantrums.
.
Amber’s POV
.
I had thought that I would let Alex know about my meeting with Mr. Davis at Cafe Hideout but after observing his reaction I don’t think that he would let me go there, that too alone.
So, I decided to sneak out again.
My wolf continuously warned me about my reckless decision but I was adamant to know about me, my parents, and my past.
I followed the way which Lily had guided me last night. I could feel that the security around the house had been increased but who cared?
Thanks to my werewolf sense!
It helped me to sneak out of the house without being caught.
Once I was on the main road, I booked a cab just in case Lily had taught me and quickly hopped inside it to leave for my destination as soon as possible.
While I was in the cab, I kept looking out at the road, trying to remember the path.
“I know, it’s not my business, Ma’am but why are you going to Cafe Hideout when there's a lot of cafes in the city?”, The middle-aged driver asked, keeping his eyes on the road.
“My friend is waiting for me over there.”, I replied, not giving much detail.
“Oh, okay! I just asked that question because that cafe is on the outskirts of the city and isn’t safe.”, The driver added. For a moment, I wanted to ask him to take a U-turn but still, I didn’t follow my inner advice.
After paying the fare to the driver, I turned my heels toward the entrance of the Cafe. My wolf was alert, sensing no werewolves near the cafe.
And how’s that possible?
Then I observed the herbs around the cafe, which are used to hide the smell of the werewolves as well as vampires.
I pushed the door of the cafe and immediately the two new scents of werewolves hit my nose while the rest of the five scents were familiar. And the moment my eyes landed on Aurora and her minions, I knew I was in trouble.
I turned quickly to run but I came across an unknown face with a very tall muscular man with scary blood-red eyes that seemed to see straight through my soul.
I shivered, realizing what he was.
A vampire.
“She’s the one, isn’t it?”, He asked, staring at me but his questions were directed to someone else.
“Yes!”, I heard Aurora responding and I instantly regretted not listening to my wolf’s warning, watching the creepy smile formed on the vampire’s face. I lifted my hand to hit him but damn to his vampire speed, he quickly vanished from his existing position and I left something piercing in my neck.
“Aaaaahhhhhh”, I cried in pain, feeling wolfsbane in my system.
I struggled to push that hand away from my neck and thankfully it worked when I threw that vampire a few feet away. I tried to run from there but soon a couple of hands held me. Soon, I stopped feeling my wolf with me so my human part started to fight against their hold.
“Damn she’s tough.”
“I told you”, Someone said in a knowing tone. “Thanks to Lily who shared her number with me along with all the incidents that happened at home.”
Aurora, that bitch! I shouted in my mind and wanted to kick her ass but then I was not in that state because those were too strong for me.
I wanted to cry for help, I wanted to cry for Alex, and Alex was the last thing I remember before darkness completely engulfed me.

Alexander’s POV
.
“Ms. Potter, what should I do? She’s not ready to understand my point of view.”, I said when she came inside my room, carrying a teddy bear and chocolates in her hand which might have been brought by the courier boy.
No, I didn’t order this, it was Marcus’s idea to give Amber these things for her forgiveness.
“What should I say in this situation? You both are not ready to understand each other’s situation. If she’s throwing tantrum then you are being adamant.”, She paused for a while before speaking. “She’s not among those girls who will become happy by staying in a golden cage. She wants to fly and one day she will surely fly high. So, instead of cutting her wings, please support her.”
“Ms. Potter you know…
“I know your point of view, but think about that poor kid who has spent all her life in a home. If you will do the same then she will feel like she’s back to that hell.”
I nodded. Ms. Potter was right. If I would snatch Amber’s freedom, even if I could persuade myself that it was for her own good, I was no better than those Knights who treated her like slaves than servants. I quickly walked toward Amber’s room to finally agree with her demand, carrying a teddy bear and chocolates in my hand.
But the moment, I opened the door of the guestroom, she was nowhere to be found in the room. I walked to the washroom and she was not even there.
I threw both the teddy and chocolate and walked out hurriedly. I went first to Lily’s room to check but she was not even there.
“What’s the matter, Brother?”
“Amber!”, I just said one word and started searching for her in the whole house.
There was only one thought which was going in my mind when she was not receiving the call.
“Liam!, Find the location of Amber.”, I ordered Liam when I heard Lily shouting my name from the room where Amber was staying.
“Here! I found this in the teddy which you had thrown on the floor.”, She said, showing them a piece of paper and the cut near the teddy’s neck. That paper might have been adjusted there. I almost snatched that piece of paper from Lily’s hand and unfolded it impatiently.
My heart stopped pumping for a while at the words written therein in blue ink.
‘Come to the place, we will ask you to after reaching Cafe Hideout, we have Amber. Come alone without any weapon, without your mobile, and without using your personal car or we will kill the girl. You have to reach the cafe by running.”
Sweat broke out on my forehead. Fury lashed through me like a whip as the words sunk into my brain, panic overtaking my entire body in strong waves made it difficult for me to breathe.
“Boss, you are not going there, alone.”
“Brother, Liam’s right.”
“Yes, Xander. They’re right.”
I struggled to keep a clear mind and shook my head. “I have to get to her, had to get my Amber.”, I said, not giving a damn to their suggestion. “And none of you are going to follow me. That’s my order.”, I added, rushing out of the room.
****
Bastards!
What did they think I am?
A vampire or a werewolf?
I was running as fast as I could but still, the cafe was way too far from the place I was currently then.
I was sure that I had never run this fast in my entire fucking life.
I was hoping to reach near her as soon as possible. I wanted to see whether she was safe or not! I used the forest route to reach my destination. Not just with the physical training, I also had a good knowledge of forest routes.
After a few hours, I finally reached the Cafe Hideout and my heart rate accelerated at what I saw when I entered. The area was in a fucking mess, showing clear signs that someone had put up on a fight.
I continued to scan the area anxiously, searching for another clue, and finally found it on the table under the menu.
“Turned around.”
‘What kind of sick joke is this!’, I muttered by reading that piece of paper. Suddenly I felt a wave of wind behind me.
Vampire! I understood why I was asked to turn around. The moment, I did, he held me in his strong arms and the next thing I knew was that I was being carried at the speed of the bullet train by that vampires.
Hardly a minute later, I was dropped on the floor. I adjusted my eyes to look around and finally found Amber, badly wounded and her hands were cuffed with the silver chains.
“Well, well, well, see who’s here between us? The leader of the hunter Organisation Mr. Alexander Stone.”, He said in a sarcastic tone.
I tried to stand on my feet when a man held her hair and pulled it roughly. She whimpered but not a word came out of her mouth.
My Brave Girl!
But that didn’t stop me from going toward Amber.
“Don’t come any closer.”, He warned and the same vampire who brought me here reached behind Amber. “You know Vampire’s blood is injurious for a werewolf.”, He said, confusing me.
I meant! I already knew that and what was the point of telling me that?
“And single blood of my friend can cause a lot of damage to your future’s bride.”, He paused before speaking again. “Observing your expression, I think you don’t know what your bride is, do you?”, He mocked but I didn’t give any expression.
He picked a silver knife and started gently bring in contact with Amber’s skin, making her skin burn like a vampire and a werewolf. She tried, I could see, she really tried to control her pain but at the end she cried loudly in pain, making me freeze at my spot.
