Lily’s POV

.

I was near the main door when the doorbell rang so instead of waiting for some helper to open the door I opened it on my own. I opened the door only to come across the face of that old man with a man beside him.

“What are you doing here?”, I asked, blocking his way to come inside the house. The man beside that old man chuckled and tried to control his expression. “What was so funny here?”, I asked angrily.

“N.Nothing.”, He responded and I looked at that old man for my answer.

“Let me in.”, He said in a demanding voice but I still blocked his path. But what he did next shocked me, he pushed me and entered the house as he owned it.

He started walking toward the living room with that man. I was surprised to notice that he knew where the living room was even though he was visiting her for the first time.

‘This person is definitely a creep or stalker who knows everything.’

I glanced around and saw the vase which looked like my own protective device. I quickly lifted it in my hand and followed him, hiding it behind myself.

“Lily”, And there you go. It seemed like Brother already saw what I had in my hand.

“I was just changing the position of the vase because it was not looking good over there.”, I reasoned out and placed the vase on the table of the living room where it was definitely not looking good at all.

I would have scolded others if they would have done the same.

The old man looked at me with a raised eyebrow which I shrugged, not caring about it while the person behind him again chuckled.

“Come here, sit beside me”, Xander gestured at me in the space on the couch near him. I did what he told me. “I have called Mr. Davis to finalize the marriage date.”

“But brother, you know that I have a boyfriend. Dad never listened to me but I don’t expect this kind of behavior from you as well. I love Christian and I will only marry instead of marrying this grumpy old man.”, I tried to explain to him.

“Excuse me! I have an important call to attend.”, I heard that old man speaking but I didn’t look at him or give any response to his words.

‘Go wherever you want to go,

But never come back to this place!’

“And do you really think that I had no idea about your affair with that boy?”, Xander asked me in a sarcastic tone. “That boy has been fooling you since long for your money. That bastard is already married and he loves to trap innocent rich girls by his charms and by changing his name all the time.”, He added.

“Ms. Potter, Please bring my laptop.”, Xander said.

After a while,

“Here”, Xander literally opened the history of Christian in front of me. I checked all the pictures and documents which were read. Not to mention he even had a criminal record of assaulting and harassing the girls. His real name was Ashton Jones.

“Lily, you trust me on this, right?”

I was so madly in love with him that if this would have been shared by my father or anyone else then I would have chosen Christian’s side but Xander….he could never use these types of cheap tricks to make me marry someone else.

I nodded numbly and turned to rush out from there, feeling suffocated. I tried to take a deep breath but couldn’t, feeling confused as I didn’t even know what to feel. I ignored Xander’s call and rushed outside the house opening the door and running toward the garden, only to collide with someone who was talking on the phone.

I didn’t care about anything and just cried in that man’s arms. I hugged him tightly, throwing away my cautious mind.

I didn’t care who he was but I was sure that it could be someone who was here, either Liam (Xander’s bodyguard) or some other guards. I cried in his arms, not caring that my tears were ruining his shirt. Surprisingly, the stranger hugged me back and soothed my back while I clung to him as a baby monkey does on his or her mother.

After a few minutes, I realized what I was doing, so I released myself from that man’s arms and covered my face feeling embarrassed to look at that man.

‘Gosh! What will he think of me?’

“I’m really very sorry!”, I rarely cry, and crying in front of a stranger was really embarrassing.

“It’s okay.”, He replied coldly, which felt too familiar, so I slowly lifted my head to see the face of that man, and immediately I wanted the ground to open so that I could hide inside it.

I cried in the arms of that old man.

‘If you’re thinking that he looks like an old man then you’re wrong. I wonder how he still maintains to look young even at the age of 44 Years, while I am just 23 years old. Almost half of his age.’

Third Person’s POV

.

Amber came to the living room after getting freshened up. She observed the shocked face of the person sitting on the couch next to Alexander because he wasn’t expecting to see a werewolf in a house of hunters.

Alex forwarded his hand toward Amber and she grabbed it immediately and sat beside him.

“Is he the guy who is going to marry Lily?”, Amber asked and furrowed her eyebrow. “But he doesn’t look like an old man”, She added, wondering why Lily had mentioned that Mr. Davis was an old man?

At the same time, Nate’s cheeks turned into the shade of crimson red by hearing Amber’s words. He was sure that he would be laying 6 feet in the ground if his Alpha came to know about it.

“So, no, no, no! He is Mr. Nate Smith, Mr. Davis’s personal secretary.”, Alexander quickly corrected her.

At the same time, Nate wanted to introduce himself as Ms. Davis’s Beta but he tied his tongue to control himself from speaking the truth.

“And Mr. Smith, she is Ms. Amber Lightwood, my future bride.”, He introduced Amber and she smiled at Nate.

‘Lightwood? Is she connected to Austin Lightwood by any chance?’, Nate thought to ask about it some other day.

But they would have talked about something else Lily walked inside the house angrily. Nate couldn’t help but chuckle at her childish behavior, he wanted to laugh when she said ‘Grumpy old man’ to his Alpha but well, it was not his fault if he found his second chance mate at this age.

Mr. Davis walked inside the house to see who was the other Alpha which was sensed by his wolf and he was surprised to see an Alpha Female.

“Mr. Stone, I want to marry Lily on the coming Monday. You have already delayed this marriage more than I wanted to.”

“But she’s still not ready.”

“Then, that’s not my problem.”, Mr. Davis said coldly. “Don’t forget that you’re been able to track so many werewolves because of my help and I’m the one who provides all the arms which can kill them. So consider it business or personal but I want Lily as my bride at any cost.”, He said and added. “She has snatched my love from me and I will never forgive her for that.”, Saying this he left from there along with his Beta Nate, while Amber was trying hard to control her wolf from attacking at Mr. Davis for talking with her mate in this tone.

“You didn’t tell me that he’s a werewolf.”, Amber pointed out.

“Maybe I would have skipped that part. He lost his mate because of Lily and apparently, Lily is his second chance mate.”, Alexander said.

“I know so much about werewolves.”

“I don’t think so. Whatever I know, it has been shared by Mr. Davis. He knows everything, almost everything about all the packs and the Alpha and Luna of their packs. For example, if you are a werewolf and you will just tell him your name. He will dig out all the information about you within 24 hours.”

‘It means he can also tell us about our parents and the pack I belong to?’, She asked with her wolf.

‘Maybe. But why will he help us?’

Immediately a message popped up in Amber’s mobile from an unknown number.

‘Want to know about yourself, Ms. Lightwood?

Meet me at ‘Cafe Hideout’ at 8 PM tonight but ALONE.

‘What the hell? How did he have my number?’, Amber asked her wolf who was clueless. Now, she started wondering whether she should meet him or not.
