Amber’s POV

‘We have to teach him a lesson.’

‘Yes. But please don’t be harsh on our mate.’, She agreed with me but at the same time, she was worried about him as well. I rolled my eyes at her request and started thinking about the plan.

And immediately an idea popped into my mind.

Next Morning

“You can’t help yourself, can you Lily? Not only did you plan to sneak out of the home but also took Amber with you.”, I heard Alex’s voice.

No, he was not shouting like a mad man, it’s just I could even hear a mere whisper.

“I know I did wrong, Brother. But my intention to take Amber with me was to make her explore the outside world a little because she wanted to go out for a long time.”

“Oh no, no, no! Don’t even start trying to use Amber as an excuse, Lily. You really needed to be in control that’s why I will finalize your marriage date after consulting with Mr. Davis, soon.”

“WHAT?”

“And yes my sweet sister, you’re grounded.”

“You can’t be serious about it. I’m not going to marry an old man.”

“This week. You’re going to marry him by the end of this week.”, He paused before adding, “Speak a word more and I will make sure that this marriage will happen tomorrow itself.”

I heard the sound of slamming the door. I could imagine Lily leaving the room angrily.

After a while, I heard my doot getting knocked.

“Breakfast’s ready, Amber”, Ms. Potter informed me from the other side of the door.

“I’m not hungry.”, I replied and went to sleep.

“But Xander is waiting for you at the breakfast table.”

“I told you, I’m not hungry at all.”

Suddenly I heard the sound of something breaking into pieces. I believe it was done on purpose or because of anger. Soo, my wolf started stirring in my mind, getting panicked when she smelt the scent of fresh blood.

“Mate…Mate is hurt.”, She whimpered.

The mere thought of him being hurt was breaking my heart. No matter how angry I was or I am, I couldn’t act heartless when he was hurt. I quickly left the bed and was thinking of going out to check on him, but before I could take even a single step, the knob of my door turned and opened, revealing him with the plate in his hand.

He walked toward me holding a plate in his hand but my eyes were on the bandage which was covered with blood.

“Please have your breakfast.”, He requested, forwarding the plate toward me. I took the plate from his hand and kept it on the table beside the bed.

“Amber…”

“Shut up!”, I said and took his hand in mine. “Moon Goddess! What have you done to your hand?”

“They’re nothing.”, He tried to retract his hand but I held them firm.

“Ms. Potter, please bring the first aid form.”, I shouted a little loud so that she could hear me. Meanwhile, I made him sit on the bed and I sat beside him. Soon, Ms. Potter arrived there with a first aid box and left soon.

I cut the previous bandage and carefully removed it. There were so many cuts in his knuckles. I made a mental note to call the doctor or ask him to visit the doctor once. I sanitized his hand and then applied antiseptic on his wounds. During the whole process, he didn’t even flinch for once and kept staring at me intensely.

“Why did you hurt yourself?”

“Hurt is the smallest punishment to his hand. I wanted to cut it for slapping you with it.”, My eyes snapped up toward him.

“That...That’s ridiculous!”, I said. “Don’t you feel the pain while hurting yourself?”, I asked before I could help myself because by observing the wound I could tell that it will take 3-4 weeks to heal those wounds completely.”

A shrug. “I’m used to them. Dad trained me for the worst in the process of becoming a hunter.”

For a human, it was already too much. I couldn’t imagine what kind of training his father would have given to him. “Did you want to be a hunter?”, I asked softly.

“I didn’t have a choice. It was my fate and I had to accept it. So, I never think of becoming something else.”, He responded and immediately his mood changed.

“Are you alright?”, I asked again, completing his bandaging.

Silence.

And then a gasp slipped through my lips as he pulled me into his lap.

“Alex!”

, I exclaimed

Snugging his face into my neck, he inhaled deep just like a werewolf. “I’m really very sorry for last night.”

Trying to control my blush, I wiggled into his arms. “The door is open. What will they think seeing us like this? Let go of me!”

His hold tightened around me. “NEVER. Your fate is now sealed with me and you’re not allowed to leave me.”

A shiver ran through my whole body when his hot lips touched the sensitive skin of my skin.

“I’m sorry”, He apologized again while his hand roamed around my curves, littering sensual kisses behind my ear.

“Ale…x!”, I wanted to stop him because I was angry with him but my voice sounded much like a moan. “Please stop.”, I finally said, trying to control the moan which was about to release from my throat because of the torture he was doing on me with his hot tongue directly against my burning skin.

Wait, burning skin?

My eyes widened when I realized that soon, I will be in HEAT.

A female wolf couldn’t stay away from her mate for long after finding her mate.

And as far as I remember, two weeks have already passed. Immediately I was brought back to reality when he turned me to him and my hands gripped his shoulders. The intensity and desire in his eyes had me stop breathing.

“Will you please forgive me?”, He asked softly. Earlier I wanted to ask for my freedom in exchange for forgiveness but now something else was going on in my mind.

“Only if you cancel Lily’s marriage with that old man.”, I kept my condition, and immediately Alex’s grip around my waist loosen.

“That’s impossible. The deal is final. I can’t do anything about it.”

“Alex, she is your sister, not any assets.”

“I know what I am doing. Besides, there’s something about Mr. Davis and Lily that you don’t know.”, He added reluctantly.

“And what’s that?”, I asked. Alex was hesitant for a while and then he explained to me the reason behind this marriage.

“....so you see, that’s why we had to agree with Mr. Davis’s condition. Moreover, he's a great guy.”

‘Werewolf.’, My wolf said, bringing me out of my thoughts.

‘Here? At this place?’,

‘Yes!’

“Are we expecting someone?”, I asked Alex, smelling that someone just entered our campus.

“Yes! I have invited Mr. Davis to finalize the marriage date.”, He replied and my eyes widened. Please tell me that whatever I was assuming was wrong. “But why did you ask so?”

“Umm..nothing!”

“So, now will you forgive me?”, He asked again.

Before I could have said anything, Ms. Potter knocked on the door, reminding us of her presence. Once Alex looked at her, she spoke, “Sorry for the disturbance but Mr. Davis is here with her Secretary.”

Alex furrowed his eyebrow and looked at me. I could read what was going on in his mind but I can tell that he was thinking something.

“Wh...What happened?”

“Nothing.”, He responded and made me sit on the bed before standing. “Join us after a while and bring Lily with you.”, He added before leaving.

‘Pheewww! That was close!”, I released my breath which I didn’t know I was holding.

‘Our mate’s smart. We have to tell him about our identity as soon as possible.’, I couldn’t help but agree with my wolf. Alex didn’t take much time to realize that I was not Alpha and Luna’s daughter and if he would start dotting every clue then he would surely find out about us.
