Aana was crying seeing Ryan in pain and bleeding. My anger flew away when I saw tears in her eyes. It's not that me and Rex were mad at her or doubting her again, I will never do that stupidity again. I was furious because Ryan was the one because of whom all the misunderstandings created between me and Aana.

"Also I hate him because our mate was wearing his freaking shirt that day," Rex growled in jealousy. I rolled my eyes.

"What? I'm possessive of her and want her to see only in our shirt not in someone else even if that is his brother." I tightened my lips, unable to understand what I should reply to him because feelings are mutual. I understood the entire truth but still, I can't see her in someone else's shirt. She is mine... only mine.

"Ours" Rex grunted and growled in my mind when Ryan held her hand.

"Aana" He breathed heavily.

"How did all this happen?" she whimpered.

"Alexander attacked our people to know about your address. He injected wolfsbane in my neck from behind because of which I wasn't able to fight him and ended up in this condition... Aahh '' he whimpered in pain.

"Alexander.. That asshole still has the guts to eye on our mate" Rex growled.

"He is a psycho who wants you, Aana. he knows you're here. He spared my life so that I could come and tell you about him. He wants you to run so that he can hunt for you like a predator." Tears rolled down from Aana's eyes… "R--Run away otherwise he will kill your pups" He stuttered because of the pain.

"Patrick and Anika immediately took him to the pack hospital" I said after seeing his deteriorating condition and looked at my mate who was crying after seeing his condition.

I closed my eyes and thought about whatever happened on our wedding day. She arrived late at the venue wearing his shirt and two days before she went to meet gynaecologists for a checkup where she had an encounter with Alexander. It didn't take me long to put 2×2 and realisation hit me like a strong wave when I concluded everything.

Aana was with Ryan before our wedding day because he was the one who protected her from Alexander. Because of him my mate and my pups are alive today.

I opened my eyes and looked at Ryan whom Patrick was carrying on his back in wolf form. I held Aana's hand when she was about to go behind them. She turned her head and looked at me.

"let go of my hand, Aaron." She muttered, trying to release her hand from my grip.

"I want to have a word with you"

"Are you serious? You want to talk to me right now when I should be with him?" She growled.

"Yes… It's important" I said, remembering Ryan's warning. "I want some answers, Pearl" I completed, wanting to confirm whether my assumptions about Ryan were true or not. She squeezed her eyebrow in confusion.

"I want to know who he is and what relation you both share?"

"Are you doubting me, Aaron?" I shook my head negatively and was about to pull her closer but she pushed me away.

"Pearl"

"After everything that has happened in the past few days. You still doubt me and my character"

"I just wanted to know who this Ryan is. You were with him for two days before our marriage and came to the venue wearing his shirt" Before I could have completed and told her what I concluded, I felt a sharp pain in my cheeks. It was a tight slap from her because of another misunderstanding between us and this time she was misunderstanding me. Could I blame her for it? No, because I'm the one who made so many mistakes by questioning her that today she is thinking I'm doubting her character.

"She has so much strength" Rex muttered, licking his tail and enjoying my misery. Well, he is not wrong, I felt blood in my mouth and my whole jaw was shaken. It took me a minute to come out of the shock of the slap. I look at my woman who is fuming in anger.

"Pearl... You're getting it all wrong"

"I'm getting it wrong?" She asked, pointing towards her. She moved back when I raised my hand to hold her.

"Don't." She snarled looking at my hand then turned her gaze towards me. "I forgot you once doesn't mean you got the licence to question my character again and again"

"You're getting it all wrong Pearl. You were with Ryan and"

"Shut the fuck up" She yelled. I looked around when I felt a strong aura, only to find no one over there and then I heard a loud growl. I squeezed my eyebrow and turned towards my mate, only to get another shock of my life. Her eyes turned red, indicating to me that her wolf was on the surface.

"Alice" Tears rolled from my eyes, seeing her alive.

"Our Alice is Alive," Rex said happily. I could feel he was as shocked and emotional as me. I take a step towards her.

"Alice" I called her with a big smile on my face. I was about to hold her, and that's when she grabbed my neck, choking me. I look at her dumbstruck.

"How dare you misbehave with my human, again?" She growled. I stopped struggling and let her strangle me. I coughed because of her strong aura. She had a red wolf whose aura was enough to kill anyone. It wasn't affecting me much as I'm her mate and also werewolf king but I can feel her aura which is strong enough to suffocate any creature to death.

"Because of the injection that Alexander injected into Aana's body. I went into a deep slumber but when you marked Aana, you shared your power with her because of which the effect of the portion that Alexander injected in my body neutralised. Still, I wasn't able to come to the surface which made me realise that the potion was made by some freaking witch who uses her spell to capture me in Aana's body. I was trying every day. Sometimes I succeeded but not for too long but today your words hurt me so much that I got the power to fight with the witch spell and take a stand for my human" She lost her grip on my neck when a tear rolled from her eyes, not able to control her emotions in front of me. she was not saying anything but her tears were yelling at me expressing how badly my words and actions hurt her and Aana.

"Pearl" I raised my hand to wipe her tears but she pushed my hand away.

"Don't" she growled, realising her aura using all her power. I was staring at her when I heard the sound of someone coughing. I turned my head and found a maid standing a few feet away from us. Alice's aura made it almost impossible for her to breathe. She was coughing blood and with every passing second her health was worsening.

"Alice stop… You're hurting someone" I said. She turned her head upon hearing me and then stopped releasing her aura when she realised her aura was hurting someone innocent. I was looking at that maid and mindlink a few warriors to take her to the pack hospital. That's when a thought crossed my mind. If her aura was affecting a wolf this much, then I can't imagine how it would affect our pups.

"Our pups" I turned my head towards Alice whose eyes widened when she realised what just happened. She kept her hand on her stomach. Tears fell from both of us realising she took control while bearing our pups which is forbidden for she-wolfs as it harms the pups. She gave control to Aana and her expression changed.

Aana looked at me, widening eyes and then her expression turned into pain. She holds her stomach with both hands.

"Aah" she yelled in pain. Thankfully I was quick to hold her as she lost her balance because of pain. My eyes shot up when I saw blood on her legs.

"No...No... please nothing should happen to our pups because of the stupid misunderstandings between us."
