"Ahh… My water bag broke" Aana yelled in pain. I picked her up in my arms while she was yelling in pain. I mindlink Marry and the doctor to rush towards the room where I asked Marry to arrange everything in advance for Aana's delivery in the palace only as I didn't want to take any risk of delay while taking her to the Pack's hospital.
"Aaron" Aana holds my arm with one hand and gazes at me in pain.
"I wasn't doubting you. I just wanted to confirm if Ryan was the person who saved you from Alexander and were you with him because of this reason?" I mindlink her. She looks at me, widening her eyes, then closes her eyes, regretting reacting too quickly.
"I should have listened to you before reacting. At least, our pups wouldn't have to face the consequences of it" Alice mindlink me. I can feel she is regretting not giving me a chance to speak.
"It's not your fault but my past actions which made you think I'm doubting you," I replied and made her lay down on the bed of the room. Doctors were already there to operate on her.
"Our pups" Aana whimpered. I can feel she is in pain and anxious for our pups' safety. I caressed her hair and lovingly kissed her forehead to calm her.
"Nothing will happen to you and our pups. Moon goddess can't be so cruel to us." she nodded her head and yelled in pain.
"Alpha" I look at the lady doctor who was waiting for me to move aside so that she can operate on Aana. After checking on my mate, she injected something into her vein.
"We have to perform a C-Section. One of her babies' necks got entangled in a cord. We have to immediately operate on her." Lady Doctor Eva replied. Aana looked at her terrifyingly and then at me. I held her hand and shook my head negatively.
"Nothing will happen to our pups and you. Believe in the moon goddess" I said confidently despite feeling terrible from inside. Eva's words were enough to scare my soul. One of our pups is in danger.
"Alpha" I nod my head and kiss Aana's lips before going out.
"I don't know how you will do it but I want my mate and both the pups safe" I mindlink Eva.
"I will try my best"
"Not try, Eva. I want results. If something happens to her or any of my pups then your Alpha will die" I muttered and closed the mindlink. tears rolled from my eyes which I was holding while trying to stay strong in front of Aana.
"Aah," I whimpered in pain when I started sharing Aana's pain. It almost made me breathless.
"Alpha" Marry ran towards me after seeing my condition and made me sit on the chair.
"Are you sharing Aana's pain?" She exclaimed when I nodded my head and growled in pain, trying my best to stay composed.
"How do you women bear this pain? I'm feeling like all my bones are cracking slowly. This pain is a thousand times more than the pain I felt when I shifted for the first time." I groaned and held the arms of the chair tightly. She gave me a small smile.
"Moon goddess gives us the power to endure this pain. It's indeed almost unbearable for us but when we see our pup in front of us. this pain becomes worth it" She said with a beautiful smile on her face, making me realise I'm asking this question to the wrong person. I don't know how the moon goddess created these women. She sacrifices and endures everything just to keep her family happy. Many times she does big things swiftly without thinking how difficult it is just for the sake of her family. These women are the most beautiful creatures made by goddesses. Nothing is more beautiful, powerful, good-hearted, and filled with love than a woman.
Marry wiped my sweat with her handkerchief and kissed my forehead like a mother. I hugged her. Thankfully, Rex is there with me to endure this pain. After a while, I stopped feeling any pain. I broke the hug and looked at Marry confusingly.
"I'm not feeling any pain. She gave birth to our pups?" I asked and looked towards the room.
"Aana is not having a normal delivery, Aaron but a C-section. Eva must have given her anaesthesia to numb her body parts and mind" I nod my head and sit straight on a chair. Don't know why my heart was beating at a higher speed, not giving me a good vibe. I kept my hand on my chest when I felt something. I checked the pocket of my coat, only to find the diary that Aana gave me.
"My beta was a psychologist. After what Alexander did and Vince's death. I went into depression. He was the one who took care of me. Since I was never able to share with him what Alexander and his warrior did when I was in his cage. He asked me to write it in the diary."

I remember the words she told me while giving me this diary. I took a deep breath and opened the diary with shivering hands. Tears were not stopping from my eyes from the moment when I started reading it. She wrote everything that Alexander and his warriors did to her. She faced a lot more in her life than I imagined. Now her nightmares, fear of darkness, getting scared when someone touches her suddenly, everything makes sense and made me realise how traumatised she was after everything.
Diary fell from my hand when I read what Alexander did with her, two days before our wedding and why she was late to the venue. the ground slipped beneath my feet realising what she had gone through in just a week. She was in front of my eyes. I didn't notice her pain but the lies she told me. I clutched my hair frustratingly, realising what a freaking asshole I was, who couldn't see the pain in her eyes that day and didn't notice her condition. I hit my hand on the wall feeling miserable.
"Alpha" I looked at my side when I heard Patrick's voice. He was huffing as he came here while running. "There is a big problem"
"What happened?" I asked, wiping my tears. There is no point in crying. I will rectify my mistake and apologise to her and Alice when she comes out of this freaking operation room while holding my pups in her arms.
"He attacked our pack, knowing Luna is in her last trimester and you will be busy with her. He took advantage of this opportunity" he growled frustratingly.
"Calm down and take a deep breath," I muttered. He nodded his head. "Now tell me who attacked our pack"
"Alexander" My blood boiled in anger after hearing that bastard name and it was not only my anger, Rex was also fuming in the fire of revenge for what he did with our mate.
"Alpha... You're realising your aura" Patrick stuttered. I smirked and kept my hand on his shoulder.
"Let him come, Patrick. He is happily hugging his death then what's the problem? He saved our time otherwise we would have to waste time searching for him. moon goddesses ease our work."
"How is she doing, Eva?" I mindlink Eva, asking about Pearl's condition.
"I won't lie to you, Alpha. Her condition is worsening," she replied and closed the mindlink. I took a deep breath to control my emotions and went inside the room where Aana was getting operated without caring about anyone.
"Alpha.. What are you doing here?" Eva asked, almost screaming at me for interrupting her work. I touched Aana's forehead with mine.
"Pearl and Alice... You both have to keep breathing for me." I muttered and caressed her cheek with my thumb.
"Someone attacked our pack, Pearl and I know if you could talk then you would have asked me to join the warriors to fight for our pack." I didn't take Alexander's name knowing how she panicked after hearing his name.
"I'm going there but remember one thing, Pearl, my life is attached to you. Keep breathing. Dare you to think of leaving me alone. You and Alice keep fighting for your life for us and I will fight in the ground field for you and our pack members. If you stop then I will also stop fighting. Keep breathing if you want me to do the same otherwise, we will leave this world together" She took a high breath upon hearing me in response. Tears rolled from both of our eyes, feeling each other's pain and fear of losing each other. I kissed her forehead and then on her hand before going out. Tears were streaming from my eyes, seeing her in that condition. It's no less than a nightmare for me. I wiped my tears and looked at Patrick.
"Let's go and show that bastard whose mates he messed up with," I said. He told me how Alexander killed his mate and his pup. It's time for retribution.
