Aana broke the kiss and kept her hand on my left cheek.

"What happened?" She asked. I shook my head, not risking taking Alice's name again in front of her. I remember last time how much she cried remembering her wolf.

I closed my eyes to concentrate and to my surprise, I couldn't sense her wolf anymore. I clearly remember I sensed Alice's presence before it was not strong still,I felt that but how it is possible, she didn't feel it but I did. was what I sensed was nothing but my imagination. I wanted to tell Aana as well that I felt Alice's presence but I don't want to give her hope that Alice is alive, which has a high chance of breaking.

"Now take some rest." She muttered and was about to go when I held her hand.

"Where are you going?" she sighed instead of answering, knowing I would again ask to come with her instead of resting.

"Aaron" She took my hand in her hand. "I don't want you to worry for me like this but to live every moment with me. if you behave like this and stop caring about yourself then it would make me feel like I'm a burden on you"

"Burden... no, Pearl. You're the love of my life."

"Then make me feel like it. I know you want to spend lots of time with me but I don't want it, if in exchange for your health." She kissed my forehead. "Made me feel that I'm your love, not a responsibility" She replied with a smile.

"I understand your point and also realise how terribly I was behaving. I have to be strong for you and our pups. Moreover, you're not going anywhere. So I should stop behaving like a psycho." She scrunched her eyebrow. "We are going to stay by each other till our old age" She sighed, realing what I meant. Her eyes become wet with my words.

"Aaron" Before she would have said something I kept my finger on her lips.

"We will fight together, Pearl. I will not let you go and you will fight with death for me... I believe nothing will happen to you. Moon goddess won't do injustice. she can't be cruel"

"I don't know what is written but I want to live with you and see our pups growing in front of our eyes. I don't know how but I will fight with death for you and our pups" I nodded my head and pulled her into a hug. We both were crying and at the same time smiling, after realising how strong our bond is. Don't know what is written in our destiny but we won't easily give up. We will fight for our love.

"I will pray to the moon goddess day and night. Not going to give up until she gets fed up and blesses you with a long life" She chuckled at my words and broke the hug. I leaned towards her face to kiss her when someone knocked on the door. She parted away from me and wiped her tears then corrected her dress. I smiled and kissed her forehead before hopping down from bed.

I wiped my tears from the corner of my eyes and took a deep breath before opening the door, only to find Monika and Patrick standing over there.

"Monika" Aana came from behind and pushed me aside to hug Monika. I look at her dumbstruck, not expecting her to push me like this for her.

"How was your trip?" Aana asked. Monika looks at Patrick with a big smile.

"It was one of the best days of my life. Patrick's behaviour was totally different. We saw each other's different sides. We enjoyed a lot together. I can say, I fell in love again," she said. I looked at Patrick who passed her a mild smile while his eyes were showing different emotions.

"Thank god you came otherwise this man bored me" Aana muttered.

"I bored you?" I asked, pointing towards me.

"Yes.. you did" She showed me her tongue before turning her head towards Monika. "Let's go to the park. I want to know what you did on the trip in detail"

"Done," Monika replied.

"No Pearl. It's your lunch time" I said strictly. Her smile vanished with my words which was enough to upset me as well.

"Okay fine go but don't make faces like this"

"I love you" she hugged me happily, making me chuckle. I kissed her hair.

"Don't worry, Alpha. I will take care of Luna. Also, I will make her eat something" Monika said with a small smile. I nod my head.

"Are you sure about Monika?" I asked Patrick after Monika and Aana left the room. He looked at me abruptly, not expecting I would question him suddenly. He bowed his eyes.

"Yeah"

"Then why you're not looking into my eyes?" I asked and sat on the couch. He sighed and sat beside me.

"I want her to be my chosen mate, not because I love her but want to see her happy. She went through a lot in her life. I just want to give her happiness."

"By sacrificing yourself?" I questioned.

"I'm not sacrificing myself."

"You don't love her but want to be her because she is alone and needs someone by her side. Do you think it makes sense?" I snarled and made him look at my side. "You're doing nothing but playing with her feelings. How long will you pretend to love her? One day she will get to know about your true feelings and it will break her heart, Patrick"

"It will never happen."

"You're worrying for no reason, Aaron. After my mate, Rose died, I had no reason to live this life. so I made this Pack and Monika the reason to breathe. I want to see her happy and if by pretending to love her I can make her happy then why not? And who knows I will fall in love with her while pretending" he said. I scoffed at his words.

"What, you think it's a movie where the hero will fall in love while pretending? If you think it is possible then let me burst your bubble, it won't happen until the hero stops lying to the heroine and starts being true to himself. I'm not saying you shouldn't move on but do it honestly"

"Would you be able to do it if something happened to Luna?" I growled when he uttered those rubbish words. "you can't even hear it then suppose how it would be when I felt the pain of getting separated from my mate" he said, shutting my mouth. "Monika knows I still love Rose and I will love her till my last breath. I promise Monika that I will keep her happy and won't leave her alone. I will fulfil it. Rest I don't know if I'm doing right or wrong but please leave me to myself. I don't want your interference in my matter." He said, leaving no room for discussion.

"I want to freshen up" He muttered and stood up from the couch.

"Did I ask you to leave, Beta?" I asked, raising my eyebrow. He bowed his head.

"I'm sorry, Alpha. I didn't mean to disrespect you." He said and then looked at me. "It's just I thought I was with my best friend" I smirked at his reply.

"You were talking to him but now you're in front of your Alpha."

"What can I do to serve you, Alpha"

"I want you to prepare the details of our enemies who attack our pack in my absence including the one whose warriors attacked your mate" He looked at me abruptly and soon his eyes filled with tears. I kept my hand on his shoulder.

"Because of the responsibility of this pack, you could not avenge the death of your mate but now I'm with you. We both will make him suffer for killing our beta female. He will pay for it." He hugged me.

"Thank you... Thank you so much" He said in a heavy voice, trying not to cry in front of me. I smiled and hugged him back.

"Ohh... I see bromance is going over here" I parted away from Patrick, upon hearing my mate's voice. She smiled and came towards me.

"Monika is over the moon after the trip... It was the best idea of yours to send them on a trip" I tightened my lips, unable to understand what I should reply to her. Patrick is not a bad person. He wants to keep Monika happy but his way is different. Only writers know what she is going to write for them.

"I will gather the details and inform you, Alpha" Patrick excused himself and left from there, leaving us alone. I looked at my mate who was smiling while looking at me.

"What happened?" I asked.

"How can someone be so handsome? I fell in love with you again" Her words were enough to make me blush. I turned my face in another direction.

"Are you blushing?" She asked teasingly.

"Stop it" I muttered. She was about to tease me more but I didn't give her a chance by attacking her lips, kissing her passionately.

I spent my two days happily with Aana. We watched movies, went on dates, went on long drives and did many romantic things along with eating ice cream. I still remember how she forbade herself to eat ice cream until she came to know I also stopped eating it.

In the last two days, I observed Aana had made good progress in her health. The danger to her life subsided but it was still there. According to Marry, she can deliver my pups to the world at any moment. I might be the first father who doesn't want his wife to deliver the pups soon.

I was sitting in my office, thinking about the moment I spent with her. That's when Patrick knocked on the door bringing me back to the world.

"Come in" He came inside with a poker face and passed me a file.

"What is this?" I asked and took that file in my hands.

"List of our enemies. They all work together and their leader's name is"

"Alexander" I read the name on top of the file. Alexander…. the person who is the biggest villain of our life.
