Only I know how relieved I was after knowing Monika didn't try to attempt suicide. It was just a freaking stupid misunderstanding. I thought about sending Monika on a trip with Patrick to distract her mind from the Luna Ceremony. I don't want her to suffer more than she did.

After checking on Monika, I and Aana had our dinner together. After that she went to take a shower while I was waiting for her outside, thinking about whatever had happened in the past week.

"Thinking about Monika?" Aana asked, lying beside me on the bed.

"Yeah… I just want her to be happy now. In fact, as an Alpha I want every member of this pack to be happy" She smiled and kissed my forehead.

"I'm proud of you. Finally, everything is on track" she muttered, bringing a smile to my face. "So when you're going to announce that you're ready to claim your werewolves king position"

"After your delivery. I will announce it with a challenge"

"Challenge?" She scrunched her eyebrow. I nod my head.

"If anyone wants to fight for the werewolf position then they can fight for it. I don't want to get this position just because I'm former werewolf king heir"

"I'm so proud of you" She sat straight and kissed my lips.

"My pups are lucky that they got you as their father. they will learn so many good things from you" she said with a big smile and caressed her belly. That's when I remember how she taunted me for running away from responsibility before and told me that our pups would learn the same thing from us.

"What happened?" she asked when she found me lost in my thoughts. I shook my head and kissed her forehead then went towards her stomach and kissed my pups with love.

"They will learn how to fulfil responsibility from their father," I said. She nodded her head with a big smile on her face.

"They will and will also learn how to love your parents and be ready to do anything for them." my smile widened with her words. She raised her hand in my direction, calling me towards him and I didn't waste a second to go near her. She hugged me while I hid my face in the crook of her neck, inhaling her scent which was intoxicating me.

"Aaron" she called me while caressing my hair with love. I hummed in response.

"Promise me that you will protect our pups and take care of them." I look at her, raising my head.

"I will… Promise"

"Also promise me that you will raise them like your parents raise you" she muttered and a tear rolled from her eyes.

"Pearl" I wiped her tears lovingly. "What happened? why you're speaking like this as if you're going somewhere" She holds my hand in her.

"I don't know whether I will be able to open my eyes or not after delivering them into this world" I growled when she uttered those words.

"Please listen to me first," she pleaded. I took a deep breath to calm down. It was time to handle her not to scare her or lose my temper.

"I don't know what is written in our destiny but I know one thing I love you" she said and kissed my lips. I respond to her with equal passion and love.

"I love you more than you love you" I said parting from her. She pushed me on the bed to lie down and kept her head on my chest.

"Now you're an Alpha and werewolf king. This pack and every pack member is like your child. You have to take care of them" I took a deep breath, trying my best to stay calm knowing where this conversation was going.

"No matter how much we run away from the truth, it won't change, Aaron. There is a risk in my pregnancy. I might lose my life." I growled again, not wanting to hear those ominous words. She flinched and clutched my shirt in her fist.

"I will die if something happens to you," I said truthfully and a tear rolled from my eyes.

"You can't... you have to live for everyone." She looked at my side with teary eyes and wiped my tears. "You have to handle yourself, Aaron. I know you love me a lot but you can't lose control over yourself. no matter what will be the result of my pregnancy, you have to stay calm. You have responsibility over your shoulder to take care of this pack, werewolf world along with our pups. You will live for our pups. you will raise them as your parents raise you. You will have to live."

"You can't leave me alone" I whimper, not able to control myself in front of her anymore. "I can't imagine a day without you. You're like oxygen to me"

"I wish it could be in my hand. You have to live, Aaron, to fulfil your responsibilities. You have to promise me you won't give up" She raised her hand towards me. I nodded my head negatively and turned my face in another direction. She made me look at her, holding my chin.

"Even I live after Vince's death, Aaron because Alice's life was attached to me. In the same way, our pups' lives will be dependent on you... You have to take care of them along with this wild pack and also as a werewolf king you have to take care of other packs."

"Would you stop talking rubbish? nothing will happen to you. I will not let anything happen to you, "I snarled. She looks at me with teary eyes, knowing no matter what she says I won't listen to her in this matter. I encircled my hands around her waist.

"You're not allowed to leave me, Pearl. After bringing light to my life, you can't push me into the darkness again. You are not allowed to go anywhere even if it's heaven"

"It's not in my hand" she sobbed.

"I don't care what is in your hand or not. I just want you to be with me. you have to fight for me with death if you want me to live otherwise I will join you above" She kept her hand on my lips and glared at me.

"Shut up"

"Yeah… Please shut your mouth and sleep," I scoffed and kissed her forehead. She didn't argue further and closed her eyes. Soon, I heard her snoring but sleep was far away from my eyes. The thought that I could lose her was driving me crazy.

I kept staring at her as if she was a thirst of my heart that I was trying to quench but with every passing second my thirst for her was increasing. I kept looking at her until my eyelids became heavy and darkness consumed me after a tiring day.

The next few days went into thin air. I was trying my best to spend my whole time with my women, not wanting to miss a single second of my life. I was staring at her sleeping face.

"She looks beautiful with chubby cheeks," Rex commented. I nod my head agreeing with him.

"I don't want to lose her" He whimpered. In the past few days, Aana kept reminding us that she won't be with us till our last breath. No matter how angry I get, she doesn't leave a chance to tell me how to live without her. Many times she stopped talking to us and then she herself got mad when we stopped trying to talk to her. I chuckled at her stupid act. It's funny but at the same time, it hurts terribly.

I was staring at her when suddenly she opened her eyes and caught me red-handed.

"Don't tell me, you haven't slept for a minute?" She asked, glaring at me.

"Let me help you" I muttered when she was trying to sit on the bed. After helping her, I arranged the pillow behind her back.

"Aaron"

"Please don't start again" I said and was about to go outside to bring something to eat for her as per her schedule but she held my hand. I turned towards her.

"Aana"

"I will not tell you that I'm going to die after my delivery" I look at her annoyingly. "Please sit beside me" I wanted to deny her request as a punishment for uttering nonsense but at the same time, I didn't want to miss any moment with her. I sat beside her. She kept her head on my shoulder.

"You haven't rested for a minute in the past four days, Aaron. Please don't hurt yourself in the process of taking care of me." She said then look at my side when I didn't answer.

"What is going on in your mind?" She asked.

"I will not let you go," I said with determination. She sat straight and sighed in defeat. "You can't win with me in this argument, Pearl. I will breathe in this air until you're doing it and that's the end of the argument"

"Why?"

"What do you mean by why?" I frowned.

"Why do you love me so much, Aaron? I don't deserve this" I smiled painfully at her question.

"It's not in my hand and believe me, no matter how much I love you, it always seems less. I want to love you like thirst love water. I want to love you like a fire needs an object. I love you like rain loves clouds. I love" She kept her hand on my lips.

"Your love scares me, Aaron"

"Scare you?"

"Yes, it scares me that you will destroy yourself." I shook my head negatively.

"My love is not toxic, Aana. It will not destroy me and if you're in fear that I will kill myself after you then don't worry, I won't do that. I just know I won't be able to breathe if you stop breathing and my heart will stop beating." Tears rolled from her eyes with my words which I lovingly wiped off. She attached her lips with mine and my eyes widened when I felt her wolf presence.

"Alice... Are you alive?" I tried to mindlink her but no response came. It has become a mystery to me whether Alice is alive or not... A mystery which only Alice can solve by showing her presence but if she was alive then at least Aana would have felt it.

"Moon goddess, please help me to solve this mystery."
