I was dumbstruck after learning about Monika. I never knew that she loved me this much. Dad never shared that he had fixed my marriage with Monika. Maybe he was waiting for me to return after completing my studies but before that, only he left this world. By looking at Monika, anyone can say that she is in pain and the fact that I'm the reason behind her pain was enough to put me in guilt.

I was trying to form words when Monika asked me to Marry her. I don't want to hurt anymore. I was trying to think of the best way to tell her I couldn't mark her… It's not possible as I love Aana. Before I could have told her something, Aana held my arms. I turned my head towards her, only to find her looking at me with dizzy eyes.

"Pearl, what happened?" I asked and held her through the waist before she would have fallen.

"Pearl" I tapped her on the cheek to bring her into consciousness but she didn't respond. Marry kneels and checks her pulse.

"She is fine. Maybe went unconscious because of stress"

"Aana," I heard Monika. She was about to touch her when Rex took control of me and growled at her.

"Dare you touch her?"

"Alpha" she bowed her eyes.

"Because of your stupid obsession with me, my mate went unconscious." He snapped and picked Aana up in his arms.

"Obsession.. You called my love obsession" She asked when Rex took the step towards our room. He took a deep breath to calm himself.

"Patrick, take your chosen mate away from my eyes. If you don't want me to say something harsh to her." He said, taking Aana towards our room. He made her lay on the bed and kissed her forehead.

"You shouldn't have talked to her like that" I muttered to him calmly.

"Because of her our mate went unconscious and you're telling me to behave with her '' he snarled. I tightened my lips, knowing he won't listen to me. He vents out his frustration on Monika after seeing our mate unconscious. He is worried for Aana and if I say something right now then it will only increase his frustration.

"We only belong to you, Pearl. You don't need to stress yourself over unnecessary things" He muttered, despite knowing she couldn't listen to us.

"Are you okay, Rex?" I asked him through mindlink.

"I'm not... We already lost Alice. I can't lose her as well. If something happens to her then you will lose me as well" He said, before giving me control and hiding inside my mind. I understood that he didn't want to continue this topic.

I was sitting beside Aana waiting for her to open her beautiful eyes and finally, she did.

"Aaron" She sat straight and looked around.

"Finally you're awake" She scrunched her eyebrow in confusion.

"We were in the hall when you were talking to Monika and then suddenly I started feeling dizzy. What happened after that?" She asked, after recalling everything.

"You went unconscious, that's why I brought you back to our room" I muttered and took her hand in mine before kissing her knuckles. "How many times do I have to tell you not to take stress? It's not good for your and our pups' health" I said. She glared at me angrily and pushed me away.

"Pearl" I was startled by her sudden action. She hopped down from bed. I followed her action and held her hand when she was about to go outside.

"Pearl.. what happened? Why are you mad at me?" she detached her hand from mine.

"Shouldn't I be angry and why you're standing here go and mark Monika"

"What rubbish?" I pulled her closer to me. "You know I love you. I can't even imagine marking someone else. I'm yours and only yours" She calmed down a little after hearing me.

"Then why didn't you say this in front of her?"

"Before I would have done it you went unconscious."

"I went unconscious after two minutes. You were silent before that" She snarled.

"That's because I was trying to form words to say this nicely as I don't want to hurt more than I already did unintentionally" I muttered, feeling guilty. She cupped my face and made me look into her eyes then shook her head negatively.

"There is no need to feel guilty about something which is not in your hand. It's not your fault, Aaron. Moreover, you don't even know about her feelings." I nod my head.

"But that doesn't rectify your mistake" She again pushed me. I look at her confusingly.

"Which mistake?"

"You let her come close to you. I know you were shocked but that doesn't justify your reaction. You gave me a mini heart attack, Aaron. I thought you would accept her proposal" She said, trying her best to control her tears. I cursed myself releasing that to ensure that Monika didn't get hurt, I hurt her.

"You know Aana I love you"

"I know but my trust in you doesn't give you a certificate to let any women come close to you" She scoffed. I sighed realising her point. I can feel through mate bond that she is mad at me for letting Monika come close to her but I was not in a proper state of mind after learning everything.

"Pearl" I called her lovingly.

"What?" she growled angrily and for a moment, I felt like Alice growled at me.

"Alice" The Word escaped from my mouth before I could have control. Aana's face paled upon hearing Alice's name after a long time.

"Alice" She repeated the name and a tear rolled from her eyes.

"Fuck you... What was the need to take her name? you upset her, asshole" Rex growled at me after seeing her teary eyes. She sat on the bed and clutched the bed sheet, remembering the beautiful part of our lives. I sighed and went near my woman who was whimpering. She turned her head towards me when I sat beside her.

"When she was with me, I never talked to her properly and now when she left, I missed her more than anything" She hugged me while sobbing. I caressed her hair lovingly. Tears streamed down from my eyes, remembering the moment I spent with her.

"It was all because of me. I shouldn't have rejected you" Aana shook her head negatively.

"It was not completely your fault. She died because she was already weak." She replied while sobbing.

"Week?'' I scrunched my eyebrow at her reply. I remember the last time when Alice took control and spent time with me, she was absolutely fine.

"Yeah because of that stupid injection. She became weak and when you rejected us, she couldn't make it... we lost her" I broke the hug and looked at her confusingly, not able to understand anything.

"Which injection?" She went quiet at my question, looking at me with tears-filled eyes.

"Pearl...Answer me. About which injection you were talking" I asked again when she didn't say anything.

"When I went for the checkup two days ago which my beta booked to ensure my and pups health. I had an encounter with Alexander" My eyes widened with her words. Two days ago before our wedding date. Since then Aana has been missing. I felt like someone was trying to mindlink me but I closed it. I Want to focus on my mate and our conversation.

"What did he do?" I asked directly, not wanting to beat around the bush. She opened her mouth to reply that's when we heard the knock on the door. I annoyingly look at the door side only to find Marry standing there, panting heavily.

"Marry" Aana exclaimed and went to her. "What happened?"

"Alpha... Monika" I rolled my eyes.

"What did she do now?" I asked, getting irritated. I was having an important conversation with my mate but it got interrupted. I don't know when I will get a chance to complete this conversation.

"Monika tried to attempt suicide, Alpha and the worst thing is her wolf is not healing her"

"What? what?" Aana and I yelled together, looking at Marry shockingly.
