I stood up from the bench and went towards the training area. That's when my eyes went on one of the warriors who was guiding his young son some moves. Tears brimmed in my eyes remembering how dad used to train me.

I left the training area and went towards my room. In the middle, I saw the pool area. When I refused to wake up early in the morning, Dad threw me into the pool and then jumped inside with me. We both used to play inside the water until I fully woke up and then as a punishment for waking up late, Dad gave me training for straight six hours. He wanted me to become strong and capable of the power I would get in future. He wanted me to protect the pack with everything.

I wiped the tear from the corner of my eyes and was about to go inside when my eyes went to the pack's auditorium where Dad used to listen and sort out issues between packs. He always takes me with him so that I can learn how to make decisions. He asks for my opinion before giving any judgement and if I say something wrong then he corrects me and teaches me how to make a proper decision. I went to the auditorium and touched the chair in the middle where Dad used to sit. I wiped my tears quickly when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned only to find my mate looking at me with teary eyes.

"He used to sit here and listen to the appeal of the werewolves who came to us for justice" I broke down into tears. She hugged me without saying anything. I hide my face in the crook of her neck while crying, letting out my pain.

"They are still with you, Aaron. they are watching you" I broke the hug and looked at her. She wiped my tears lovingly.

"They are watching you from above. I know everything over here reminds you of them but what is wrong in remembering your parents who love you with everything." I nod my head agreeing with her and look back at the chair.

"He wanted me to handle this position. he used to train me every day to make me capable of this position"

"And what are you doing?" I bow my eyes. "Running away from your responsibilities," she said and made me look into her eyes.

"Like every werewolf parent's, I'm sure even your dad had a dream that you would handle his position one day and make him proud, Aaron." She said and passed me an envelope.

"I found it in your parent's room" My eyes widened with her words. "It's for you from your dad," She said. I took the envelope and opened it, only to find a letter in it.

"It's dad writing," I muttered and started reading it.

'Hello, Son. I'm writing this letter while imagining the day when you will grow older and I will retire from all my responsibilities. If you're reading this letter. It means tomorrow you're going to handle the werewolves king position. I'm so excited for that day. I'm writing this letter to let you know, I'm proud of you son and I'm sure in future also you will never disappoint me and fulfil your responsibility with honesty.' Tears stream down from my eyes when I read those words. "Beside werewolves king. Don't forget you're an Alpha as well. I tried my best to make you the best. I want you to love this pack like your own family as I do. I want you to protect the pack members, tell your last breath and also maintain peace in the werewolves' world as a king. I hope you get all the happiness in the world and you will spread happiness and peace in the werewolves world. teach the evil person a good lesson while promoting a healthy environment and I know you will live up to my expectations. I love you, my son and I'm so proud of you. Remember your parents will always be there for you whether we are alive or dead. We will be there to watch you succeed and be a true ruler. Your parents love you a lot. - from dad'

Tears were continuously falling from my eyes. I looked at my mate, realising the reason why she was trying to make me realise my responsibility and stop me from failing as a son. She hugged me, embracing me in her arms. I hide my face in her chest, crying my heart out.

"Dad… Mom" I yelled, not able to hold the pain which I had been carrying for years. It's not that my eyes didn't go teary when I shared about them but today I cried after their death without any restraint.

"Aaron" she broke the hug when I calmed down a little bit and wiped my tears lovingly.

"Let me bring water for you" She was about to stand up when I held her hand.

"Don't go anywhere. Please"

"You don't need to say please," She muttered. I didn't reply and hugged her again like a baby who was searching for comfort. She caressed my hair lovingly. I don't know till when I was sitting like that, holding her waist and keeping my head on her chest.

"She is in pain" Rex mind linked me. I parted away from Aana and looked at her. She immediately changed her expression of pain to a mild smile.

"Feeling better?" she asked, trying her best to hide her pain behind a small smile.

"Why are you hiding your pain with me?" I asked, annoying. "I don't like it when you hide something from me"

"Pa---Pain.. I'm not in pain" She stuttered. I pulled her closer to me and made her sit on my lap.

"Don't lie... Rex can feel your pain through mate bond" I muttered. She smiled at my words.

"Tell him to relax. It's just a mild back pain"

"Fuck" I cursed when I realised how careless I'm. She was going through back pain for a few days and I was holding her waist tightly while crying for so long she must have started feeling pain because of sitting for so long and my tight hold.

"Monika come to the auditorium" I mindlinked her and rubbed my hand gently over her back.

"Why didn't you tell me before?" I complained.

"Because this pain is nothing in front of the pleasure I got while holding you in my arms" A smile broke on my lips with her loving words. She cupped my face and kissed my forehead, directly touching my soul.

"I love you," she said, wiping my tears lovingly.

"Alpha" I looked at my side and found Monika standing there bowing her head. There were tears in her eyes which confused me. Aana got up from my lap and went towards Monika.

"What happened? Why are you crying?" She asked her, like a perfect Luna she is.

"You don't need to worry about me. For what you called me, Alpha?" She asked, not looking at me.

"Drop Aana to her room and ask Marry to be with her till I get free. Also ask the maid to prepare something healthy for her" I said, not forcing her to tell the reason why she is crying if she didn't want to share.

"I'm not leaving you" My mate argued. I sighed and went near her.

"I'm fine. You should take rest for a while"

"But Aaron" I kept my finger on her lips.

"Shh.. Go and rest and I also need some alone time to decide what I have to do next." She nodded her head and held my hand in her hand.

"Take care of yourself for me" She muttered in a low tone.

"I will" I muttered and kissed her forehead. She smiled and went with Monika. I turned my head and looked at the chair where my dad used to sit. All the memories of my parents flash into my mind along with the promise that I made to my Alpha and dad that I would take care of this pack and become the best Alpha and werewolf king and make him proud of me.

I always used to think that he wanted to bring his company to a higher position in the world, that's why I put all my focus into business but no... he didn't want that. He wanted me to handle this pack.

I started smiling remembering how he used to scold me for making wrong decisions or being biased, then at the same time made me understand what and how I should take the side of the right people, no matter who was standing in front of me. He guided me with so much love after scolding me while mom used to shower love on me after I came back from training by cooking my favourite food. she didn't spoil me like other moms who didn't let their sons do anything but teach me to do my work on my own. She pampered me and at the same time never let me become a spoiled brat. My parents are an example of perfect parents.

'I love you Mom and Dad' I looked at the sky and passed him a smile, telling him that his son is happy and relieved today, realising that they left this world but they were by my side all the time.

"Alpha" I quickly wiped my tears and turned to find Patrick standing at the door.

"Luna sent me a message with Monika to meet you at the auditorium. Do you want something?" He asked. I didn't reply and hugged him as a best friend. He was always there for me and fulfilled my responsibility.

"Are you okay, Aaron?" He asked as a best friend.

"I'm fine." I broke the hug. "Thank you for always being there for me and also for handling my responsibilities in my absence"

"I'm your beta, Alpha. It's my responsibility to handle the pack in your absence "I nod my head. I'm feeling so good after letting out my pain in my mate's arm.

"After a long time, you came here. This chair is waiting for you for so long" he muttered looking at the chair where Dad used to sit.

"Now it's wait is over" he squeezed his eyebrow and looked at me but didn't say anything. I sat on my father's chair. It's time to walk on my father's path. He looked at me shockingly while I laughed at his reaction.

"Why are you looking at me like this?" I asked, loving to tease him before dropping a bomb on him.

"No--Nothing Alpha" I laughed at the way he stuttered.

"Why did you call me here?" he asked after a while with a mild smile.

"I didn't call you. Your Luna sent you to stay with me for a while. Trusting you that you will be there for me as a best friend" I said with a smile. "She took care of me even when she wasn't present with me."

"You're lucky that your fated mate is with you" He muttered with teary eyes. I could feel the pain of losing his mate through the bond of Beta and Alpha we share.

"Patrick.. are you okay?"

"How can I be? She left me alone in this world only to live in memories of her. How can I be okay?" He growled, trying to hide his pain behind his anger. I stood up and went near him to hug him but he moved back.

"I'm okay," he said and took a deep breath. "Do you want something? I have some work to do," he said, trying his best not to break down in front of me.

"I was thinking of announcing Aana as a Luna of Wild pack. For that I want you to make arrangements for the Luna ceremony." I muttered waiting for his response but he just nodded his head, surprising me.

"Okay Alpha" He said and turned to go but then stopped.

"What did you just say?" He asked, after turning towards me, looking at me like two horns popping out of my head. I rolled my eyes realising that he wasn't in his senses when I ordered him, that's why he gave me a cold reaction.

"I said prepare for Luna ceremony"

"Luna ceremony... it means you're"

"Yes I'm ready to take the position of Alpha of this pack"

"Aaron" he jumped on me like a monkey, hugging me like a younger brother of mine, making me laugh loudly. We both hugged each other. Aana made me realise my responsibility and now I'm not going to back off but ready to serve the people I belong to.
