I went near my warriors who lost their lives. Tears brimmed in my eyes, recognising them. They were old and used to stay by my dad's side. Aana was right, I would regret it if I didn't come here.

"Let's give them a proper funeral," Patrick said, keeping his hand on my shoulder. I nod my head and apologise to the warriors who lost their lives, for not being able to protect them.

I came back after the funeral, only to get welcomed by every pack member with a big smile on their face. I sighed realising that I again increased their expectations which is the last thing I wanted.

"Aaron" I heard my mate's voice which always calmed my anxious heart. She came running towards me and checked me from top to toe for any injury I had.

"Don't worry, it's not my blood and I'm absolutely fine" She nodded her head.

"I'm proud of you," she said with a big smile which is enough to make everything worth it. I was about to touch her cheek but stopped when I saw blood in my hand.

"I need to have a shower before holding you" she chuckled at my words. I was looking at her happy face when I heard a cough. I look at my beta annoyingly. he pointed towards pack members, indicating to me that I'm not alone in a room with my mate. My smile vanished when I saw hope in every pack member's eyes.

"What I did today is only for my mate because she wanted it and also it was for returning the favour you're all doing to me by taking care of my mate and my pups. So please don't raise unnecessary hope" Their smile vanished with my words. I looked at my mate who was calm, not mad at my words.

"Sometimes you become a mystery to me. One moment you oppose me for behaving rudely with pack members and in another moment you stand by my side, silently supporting my decision when I utter that I don't want to be their Alpha." I mindlink her. She chuckled at my words.

"You made me happy, Alpha, that's why this Luna is not saying anything rude to you." She said in a low tone. We both cracked up at her words. She held my hand in her hand.

"As long as your decision is not harming anyone I'm with you but when you go on the wrong path then it's my responsibility to bring you on the right path." She said and kissed on my cheek, not caring that I was covered in blood.

"You're setting a high level for the people." She scrunched her eyebrow at my eyebrow.

"High level?"

"Yes, high level of how to become a perfect mate" She laughed at my words and then turned her head towards Patrick.

"Are you okay, brother?" Patrick looks at her, widening his eyes, not expecting that she will behave nicely with him despite his rude behaviour.

"I'm... Thank you, Luna and also sorry for behaving like an asshole"

"I'm happy that Aaron got you as a beta and best friend" he said looking at me. I nod my head in response.

"Patrick" Monika called him and ran towards him to hug him but he stopped her with his hands.

"I need to take a shower" Patrick muttered and left before Monika would have said something. I rolled my eyes seeing the bipolar behaviour of Patrick. At one moment he wants to move on with Monika and in another, he pushes her away when she comes near him.

"Leave all this Alpha... we prepare a shower for you and Luna, you should take a proper sleep. It's not good for your health to wake up so long." Marry said with a mild smile.

"Let's go" I raised my hand towards Aana. She held my hand in the same way as the first time when I asked her to hold my hand when she got frightened by a puppy and climbed on the bonnet of my car. We both went towards our room.

"Remembering our first meeting," She said, widening my eyes.

"How did you know it?"

"Because I remember the same incident when you raised your hands towards me," she said, bringing a smile to my face. I didn't say anything and attached my lips with her, taking her lower lip which is like a rose petal between my lips, sucking them while she responded to the kiss with the same intensity.

I opened my eyes when I heard the voice of warriors and checked the time. It was training time. I looked at my mate who was sleeping peacefully in my arms. I carefully remove her head from my hand and place it on a pillow then place one more pillow on my place and get up from bed, thinking of joining warriors on training. I came out of the washroom after getting freshened up only to find my mate sitting on the bed looking at me angrily. Her pregnancy mood swings give me a hard time nowadays.

"Where are you going?" she asked, crossing her hand. My eyes went to her plump breast which was raised because of her act, raising the desire in my heart to suck them. I shook my head at that thought.

"You can't distract yourself, Aaron," I muttered under my breath.

"What?"

"Nothing" I said and turned my head in another direction, not wanting to get a hardborn as she was looking tempting and hot right now.

"You didn't answer my question" She snarled. I sighed and looked at her.

"I was going for training. My warriors are strong but I want them to be the best and beat the shit of the enemies who dare to eye on my pack" A big smile appeared on her face.

"Why are you smiling as if I confessed my love to you?"

"You didn't realise it, Alpha that you started considering this pack as your pack" I look at her dumbstruck, realising she had a point. I opened my mouth to tell her that it was a slip of the tongue but then didn't utter a word after seeing her beautiful smile. I went near her and kissed her forehead.

"Sleep... I will wake you up after returning from training" She nodded her head and lay down on the bed. I blew a blanket over her and went to the training area to train the warriors.

Two days went peacefully and everything was under control in a pack. I was training my warriors when my eyes went on my girl who was looking at everything with teary eyes. Today she woke up early and requested to join me in the training area. She wanted to see how I train my warriors.

"Half an hour before she was okay then what happened to her suddenly" Rex asked, anxiously when he saw tears in Aana's eyes which she quickly wiped off. I went near her and sat beside her.

"What happened, Pearl? Why are you crying?" I asked, hating to see tears in her beautiful eyes.

"Something went into my eyes" she lied and wiped tears from the corner of her eyes.

"Pearl, you know I can smell emotions," I said and held her hand in my hand. "Also I can feel you're upset through mate bond." She looked at me with teary eyes.

"I'm missing Dad. He used to train me like you're training your people" She rested her head on my shoulder.

"He already planned a bright future for me. He wanted me to become an Alpha and was giving me training since I was fourteen" She said. More tears streamed down from her eyes, remembering her moment with her dad.

"But I failed, Aaron. I failed to meet his expectations." She sobbed.

"Pearl" I caressed her lovingly, not able to understand what I should say to her.

"I failed to protect my people"

"Please don't blame yourself for what happened, Pearl. It was not your fault. If Alice had been with you at that time I could say with certainty that you would have fought for your pack very well and protected it from your enemy till your last breath but you were a human, Pearl. So stop blaming yourself" She broke the hug and looked at me.

"I could not save my pack that time because I was not strong but you're Aaron. I don't have any option than to blame myself but you have." She held my hand in her hand.

"I'm sure even Alpha Watson would have some expectations from you related to this pack. He might also want you to be a good alpha and werewolf king who protects his pack member and maintains peace among werewolves as he did till his last breath" Tears rolled from my eyes upon hearing her words. This is not the first time Aana has forced me to realise my responsibility but this time her words were like a splash of water on my face to bring me into the correct senses. Her words directly hit my heart.

"You always lied to me Aaron that you don't have anyone in your life except me." She chuckled and then turned my head towards the warriors.

"These warriors, Patrick and every pack member are your family, Aaron. You're fortunate to have them. despite your continuous rejection to become Alpha of this pack. They only want you to become their Alpha. They love you a lot" She wiped her tears.

"If something happens to them then you will lose everything, Aaron." I went numb after hearing her words.

"I couldn't keep my promise of protecting my earlier pack and their members but why are you not fulfilling your responsibility when the moon goddess gives you a chance." She wiped her tears. "I want this pack to be safe because now this is my pack. I will not go anywhere after my delivery nor will my pups leave their grandparents' house. If you want to go then it's your choice" She said with determination and stood up from the bench.

"Start remembering all the moments you spent with your parents in this pack, Aaron. Maybe you will realise your responsibility towards this pack and also realise the big mistake you were making" She said before leaving the training area after putting me in a dilemma and went inside the house. Her words were forcing me to believe I was doing wrong by running away from my responsibility and I don't want to accept this.

"I don't want to become an Alpha"
