Chapter 178: Chapter 178

Aaron Pov's

.

Aana parted away from me after a while, there were tears in her eyes. I quickly wiped them off.

"I'm sorry for using my Alpha aura. It was unintentional."

"You don't need to explain yourself. I know you" she muttered and kissed my forehead. "Stop blaming yourself for everything. There is no point in feeling guilty for the things which aren't in your hand."

I smiled upon hearing her words and nodded my head. We both were looking into each other's eyes, loving each other's presence in silence. That's when we heard a loud painful howl of a wolf and I felt that I lost the bond with two wolves of my pack. We both stood up from the bench.

"What happened Patrick?" I asked my beta, through mindlink.

"Some people attacked on our pack border." He replied shortly. I turned my head towards Aana who was looking at me.

"Someone attacked on the pack border" I replied. She gasped and kept her hand on her mouth.

"Att---Attack on pack border" she stuttered. I cupped her face and made her look into my eyes.

"You shouldn't stress yourself. It's not good for your and our pups' health. Trust Patrick, he will handle his pack." Her expression paled with my words.

"Let's go to our room," I mumbled and took a step towards our room. That's when she held my hand and glared at me angrily.

"What?" I asked, unable to understand the reason behind her sudden anger.

"Won't you go to check what happened at the border?" she asked. I shook my head negatively.

"It's a pack matter and Patrick will handle this situation," I muttered. She left my hand with a jerk.

"I can't believe this... You lost two people from your pack and instead of going there and checking on your people. You're going to your room"

"Here you're wrong, Pearl. It's not my pack. It's Alpha Patrick's pack."

"Are you serious, Aaron?" She snarled. I scratched my forehead and then took a deep breath to calm down, not wanting to yell at her. She turned her head in another direction because of anger.

"Yes, I'm serious Pearl. This is not my pack" I made her look at my side. "don't tell me you also started considering this pack as ours. Just because I started being nice to the people over here that doesn't mean I accept the Alpha position" I said without using any filter.

"What do you mean by you're being nice to the people over here? did you forget they are your family" She said in the same tone as I said the earlier words.

"No... only you and our pups are my family," I said sternly.

"Aaron" she clutched her hair frustratingly and then took a deep breath.

"So you won't go to help the warriors at the border?" she asked directly.

"No, because it's Alpha Patrick Pack matters, not mine. They should solve their matter on their own"

"Wow," she scoffed and started clapping. "You deserve an award, Aaron"

"Award?"

"Yes... Award for most selfish person in the world" I rolled my eyes at her words.

"Aana, it's wild pack matter and they will handle it. I told you before also not to interrupt in pack matters. Let's go to our room"

"do the fuck with your room... Have you lost your mind, Aaron" She yelled and clutched my collar angrily. I look at her hand and then at her.

"Have you forgotten this pack belongs to your father, Aaron? He did so many things for this pack. they are your people." She muttered. I remove her hand from my collar.

"Why are you stressing yourself out? Please.. don't involve yourself in all these matters. I don't want to be part of this pack nor do I want you to be involved with the people over here. We will leave this pack after your delivery.'' She took a deep breath and left my collar. I picked her up in my arms when she didn't argue further, knowing I wouldn't listen to her.

I made her sit on the bed and straighten her legs before blowing the blanket over her. I was about to go to change my clothes when she held my hand. I looked at her and then sat beside her.

"What happened?" I asked, wiping the tears from the corner of her eyes.

"That's my question, Aaron. What happened to you? you are not like this. You care for your people more than you care about yourselves than what happens to you suddenly." She moved closer to me and rubbed my arms with her soft hand.

"The Aaron I love can't see anyone in pain then how can he see the people who love him more than their life? They all want you to be happy. That's why they are taking care of your mate who is pregnant. trying their best to protect me and our pups because they know we are the reason for your happiness. If they think so much about you then why can't you protect them in return." I opened my mouth to say something but she kept her finger on my mouth.

"I know you don't want to take the responsibilities of this pack because it reminds you of your parents but they are your family, Aaron. They need you at this weak point where they are struggling for their life. Don't run away like this because if it continues and something happens to your people and this pack then you won't be able to forget yourself." I removed her hand and stood up from the bed.

"I need to change before sleeping"

"You will regret it, Aaron, like you regret rejecting me and losing Alice. Don't repeat the same mistake" I heard her voice when I was entering the washroom. Her words were enough to put me in a dilemma regarding my decision. I opened the shower knob to cool myself under cold water. I closed my eyes and that's when Alice's face came in front of my eyes and Aana's voice rang in my mind.

"You will regret it, Aaron, like you regret rejecting me and losing Alice. Don't repeat the same mistake" I opened my eyes and took a deep breath. I closed the knob and that's when I again felt the pain of losing another pack member. I went out of the room and looked at my woman who was waiting for me, standing near the window. she looks at me and then moves away from the window

"Rex" I called him.

"Let's go" He muttered and took control of me before jumping out of the window. He landed on the ground straight.

"Take care of yourself, mate" I heard her yelling from the window. Rex turned his head towards her.

"Don't worry... I will handle everything and also take care of us" Rex replied to her through a mindlink to which she passed us a smile.

"I know you will"

"Marry take care of Aana until we return. '' he mindlink Marry before running towards the pack border. My eyes widened when I saw the bloodbath in front of my eyes when I reached there.

"Patrick" I ran towards him when I saw him badly injured. Most of my pack members were injured and some were on the edge of death. I growled loudly before looking at the numbers of our enemy which were three times the pack warriors who were patrolling over the border. Still, my warriors gave them a hard time and now it's time for our enemy to pay back for the blood my warriors shed.

Rex ran towards them and then in the next minute, he killed three wolves at the same time. They tried to run away after seeing Rex's big wolf but Rex wasn't in a mood to leave them easily.

"You can submit to me if you want but you can't run away" He said through mindlink. Half of them bow in front of him, accepting defeat while half are fools who thought they could save themselves from my Lycan and tried to run away. It didn't take Rex more than five minutes to kill all of them and show whose pack they were messing up with.

I took control from Rex and morphed into a human before going towards the warriors who were injured. I never practised the power of healing as a healer, that's why I don't know how to heal them.

"moon goddess.. Please help me. I can't see my people in pain but at the same time, I don't want to become a part of this werewolf world. Please guide me on what I should do." I prayed and that's when I remembered my mom and her way of treating people.

I held Patrick's injured arms in my hand and moved my hand over it, remembering how my mom used to do the same and prayed to the moon goddess to heal him. Thankfully it worked. I smiled and looked at my best friend who was looking at me with a big smile. I treated most of the warriors who were injured until some warriors came to take the injured wolves to the hospital. I smiled proudly when they told me that Aana sent them to bring the injured warriors to the hospital for treatment before they lost their lives.

"Aana is perfect Luna" Patrick said, keeping his hand on my shoulder. I nod my head, agreeing with him.

"Indeed she is," I said with a proud smile.
