Rex gave me control back after marking Aana.
"Rex" she called him, unaware that I was in control. I looked at her when I felt her voice was weaker than before. I was startled after seeing her eye colour change to red which is Alice's eye colour.
"Alice" I called her shockingly, not able to believe my eyes. Before I could notice her eyes colour properly, it changed back to normal indicating Aana was on the surface. I tightened my grip on her waist when she left all her weight on me suddenly and closed her eyes.
"Pearl" I tapped on her cheeks while calling her but she didn't respond. I shook her body to wake her up but again she didn't respond.
"Marry, come to my room immediately" I mindlink her and pick Aana up in my arms, taking her towards our room. Rex was jumping in my mind anxiously after seeing our mate unconscious like this. The moment I made Aana lay on the bed, I sensed Marry's presence. I turned my head towards her when she knocked on the door.
"You called me, Alpha," she asked anxiously. I moved a little.
"ohh.. luna is sleeping?" she mindlink me thinking that her voice might be disturbing Aana's sleep. I nod my head negatively.
"Please check on her. She went unconscious just after I marked her" I muttered anxiously. She nodded her head and sat beside Aana on the bed. She held her wrist to check her pulse and then opened Aana's eyes to check something, then she touched Aana's stomach. She was doing Aana's checkup but I was losing my patience with every passing second.
"Would you open your mouth and tell me what happened to her?" I growled when she didn't respond for a minute. Only I know how I control myself even for sixty seconds.
"Is she okay? and what about my pups? Are they fine?" I asked another question before she would answer first.
"Relax Alpha... She is absolutely fine."
"A--And my pups" I stammered as all the worst reasons started roaming in my mind.
"They are also fine"
"Did you check properly? if she and my pups are absolutely fine then why she went unconscious?" I asked frustratingly. She held my hand and made me sit beside Aana then kept my hand on Aana's stomach. I was about to growl at her annoyingly for not answering my question. That's when I felt both of my pups kick. I took a relief breath when I realised she was not lying, both my pups and mate were fine. I kissed Aana's forehead and then on her stomach. My eyes went to Marry who was looking at me with a mild smile.
"If she is fine then why does she go unconscious after I mark her?" I asked the question which was bothering me continuously.
"She went unconscious because of your power, Aaron."
"My Power?
"Her fragile body couldn't handle the sudden power she got after being marked by a werewolf's king but don't worry, she will feel better after resting for some hours." I release a relieved breath and nod my head before looking at my mate who is lying unconscious on the bed.
"Did you notice something strange when you mark her, Alpha?" I look at Marry, perplexed at her question then nod my head remembering the moment how her eye colour changed to red which used to happen before when Alice took control from Aana.
"Why are you asking?" I enquired instead of answering her.
"I asked you this question because I'm surprised at the way she was carrying a Lycan and healer together in her womb. it's not possible for a normal human. Your mother was a healer and your father marked her. That's why she was able to give birth to you but she became terrible a week after her delivery. It took her so long to recover."
"Aana is also getting weak with every passing day."
"Yes, but she is only getting weaker. if she is a normal human then she would've died till now" I growled upon hearing her words. She bowed her eyes.
"I'm sorry, Alpha but I'm just stating the fact" She apologised. I took a deep breath to calm Rex who was growling in anger after hearing Marry's words. The thought that something would happen to Aana was enough to shake our souls.
"Aana had an Alpha wolf who died because of my rejection" I muttered and a tear rolled from my eyes, missing Alice badly.
"Aaron" Marry kept his hand on my shoulder.
"She was the one who brought me and Aana together and now when everything is fine, we are starting a family then she is not with us anymore and it's all because of my stupidity. I would never be able to forgive myself for her death"
"It's not your fault, son but the situation made you do that"
"I'm feeling miserable for not being able to do anything. I wish I could her bring back to life"
"Some things are not in our hands, Aaron" I nod my head and wipe my tears, trying to control my emotions. I turned my head towards Aana who had tears in the corner of her eyes. I wiped her tears with my thumb. Maybe she is half-conscious and listening to my conversation with Marry. I was looking at her. That's when I remember how her eyes turned red before she went unconscious.
"Could it be possible that her wolf is still alive?" I asked her despite knowing the answer.
"If she was alive you would have realised her presence. You're a werewolf's king, Alpha" I sighed, realising she had a point. I would have felt through the bond if Alice had been alive. My last hope also died with her words. I stood up from the bed.
"I'm going for a run. Stay with her till I come back. "
"Okay Alpha"
"Don't call me, Alpha" I snarled before jumping out of the window, only to get laid on the ground on my four legs. Rex took control of me and started running at a higher speed in the forest to calm ourselves. Tears rolled from his eyes remembering how Alice used to run with us at the same speed. They both used to play with each other in wolf form. He stopped near the lake, breathing heavily.
"We miss you, Alice," I muttered, remembering her face in the water. I sat near the lake rewinding all the memories I spent with Alice.

"Alpha" we came out of thoughts when Marry mindlinked me.
"What happened?" I asked, getting annoyed because of the disturbance while remembering our love.
"Luna is awake"
"How many times do I have to tell you not to call me Alpha" I growled before closing mindlink. Rex ran back to our palace where we were staying. He morphed into a wolf and started walking towards our room, still in control as he wanted to spend time with Aana but the moment we reached our room, he gave me control. I scrunched my eyebrow at the sudden change in his decision.
"What happened?" I asked him through mindlink.
"Look at our mate" I look inside the room, only to find our mate glaring at us and by looking at her, anyone can say she is a volcano which can erupt at any time.
"Pearl"
"Dare you to step inside the room? '' She growled when I raised my feet towards her. I look at her dumb-headed, not able to understand what I did because of which she is mad at me.
"Get out… I don't want to see your face"
"What?" I asked shockingly.
"I said get out," She yelled at the top of her voice. I closed my ears, not wanting to get deaf. I turned my head towards Marry who was looking at me shockingly.
"Why is she angry?" I asked through mindlink.
"I don't know, Alpha but I'm shocked at the way you're listening to her"
"Even a lion is helpless in front of his lioness" I rolled my eyes and looked at my girl who turned her head in another direction while fuming in anger.
"Pearl." She turned her head and glared at me.
"Would you tell me my mistake so that I can rectify it?" I asked anxiously.
"You're a jerk who doesn't know how to behave with anyone." she snarled. I turned behind to see if she was talking to someone else but there was no one. I turned towards her again.
"me?" I asked, pointing towards me.
"Yes... You mr. Grumpy" she scoffed.
"I'm not a jerk"
"You're and don't argue with me. I have three brains and you have one" she said leaving no room for argument. I opened my mouth to say something in my defence but not a word came out of my mouth. she left me speechless to say anything. Now, I realise why people say it's hard to handle their women during pregnancy because they have extra brains which work faster in shutting any dumb male's mouth.
