I was sitting at the lakeside when Shrine came running towards me. I caressed her fur. She held my shirt and started dragging me. It didn't take me long to understand that something is fishy. I morphed into a wolf and followed her. She took me back to the place where Aana was but my Pearl was not there.

"Where she went?" I asked Rex. He didn't reply and started running in the direction from where her smell was coming along with the smell of some people. My eyes widened when I saw a warrior holding Aana's hair and she was crying in pain.

"Aah... Aaron" She called me. Before I could have processed, Rex growled loudly making the ground shake. He killed George mercilessly as he deserved. He went towards Aana who was crying. I thought he would give me control like always but he didn't. I was surprised when he calmed her, holding her in his arms.

My blood boiled when she shared what those warrior's commander said about her and how he eye fucking her. She asked Rex to kill their commander and he didn't take much time to fulfil her wish by using our werewolf king power. After the bloodbath, he gave me control. I went in the direction where Aana was, only to find Marry taking care of her. A smile broke on my lips after seeing Marry after a long time. I went to her and greeted her, hugging her.

"I missed you'' I muttered with teary eyes and then whined like a child when she hit me. My eyes went to Aana who was lost in her thoughts. I asked her whether she was okay or not to which she replied with a nod.

"Aana... She is my nanny or say, my second mother. After my parents, I was close to her the most. She loves me a lot" I said, introducing Marry to her. She nods her head and looks at Marry.

"Hello Aunt" she mumbled nervously as this was the first time I was introducing her to any of my family members.

"Aunt? I'm not that old... Called me Marry" She chuckled at Aunt's word and hugged her.

"I don't know about Aaron but you indeed reminded me of my mom" She muttered with teary eyes. I scrunched my eyebrow realising that we never shared anything about our family with each other. We love each other more than anything, still, we are a mystery to each other.

"You're like my daughter only," Marry replied and kissed Aana's forehead. "I will love you more than my son, Aaron"

"That's not fair" I whined, at the injustice she is doing.

"You just met her and gave my position to her. Loving her more than me?" I questioned. Marry chuckled at my words and pulled my ear.

"Aah... Marry what are you doing? It's hurting"

"Yes... I'm loving her more than you because you forgot all of us' ' She left my ear and kept her hand on Aana's cheek. "And she is the reason because you returned to us."

"I came only for Aana's delivery Aunt" Her smile vanished upon hearing me. I turned my face in another direction, not able to look at her sad face.

"I should get a bath" I excused myself and went towards the waterfall. I sighed and sat under the waterfall, trying to calm myself. It was my father's trick. He told me whenever I need to make a hard decision as Alpha then come here and sit inside the waterfall to calm my mind and then think about everything.

I recalled whatever happened between me and Aana before my birthday and a tear rolled from my eyes. I recalled how she came wearing someone else's shirt and those photos in which she was kissing someone else. I opened my eyes and wiped my unwanted tears. No matter how much I try to forgive everything. I can't...

"What do you think about next?" Rex asked.

"Huh?"

"We can't stay like this. If we tried to normalise everything without forgetting her then we are just pretending nothing else. If you really want to move on with her then forget her betrayal"

"And what about you? Would you forget her betrayal?" I asked.

"I would have if Alice was alive," He said and closed the mindlink before I would have said something. He was still not able to come out of grief of losing death neither was I. We will never be able to get out of the pain of losing her. My eyes went to Patrick who was standing outside the lake with a pair of clothes. I went towards him and hugged him.

"You could have done that after drying yourself" I laughed at his words.

"Then how come your clothes get wet?" He rolled his eyes and passed me my clothes after breaking the hug. We both started laughing.

"I missed you, brother," he muttered. I didn't reply to him, avoiding talking on this topic because I knew then this topic will end up on the topic of taking responsibility on my shoulder which I didn't want to. I don't want to handle any pack responsibility. I'm happy with my mate and pups.

"Aana must be waiting" I muttered and went back to Aana who was sleeping on the ground while her head was in Marry's lap.

"Shh,'' She indicated to us to be quiet before I could say something. I smiled seeing her motherly love towards my mate. I sat beside Pearl and kept my hand on her cheek, moving my finger gently over her left cheek which swelled because that bastard slept.

"Don't worry... When we reach the pack, I will apply ice over it. She will get rid of the pain,'' Marry muttered. I nodded my head and touched Aana's baby bump where my pups are growing.

"She has a twin" I mumbled with teary eyes and a big smile on my face.

"Yeah... Kathie told me. I read her case and it has a complication" My smile vanished upon hearing her. I looked at her.

"She is a weak human and has a problem with anxiety attacks. It will not be easy for her to give birth to an heir of a werewolf king and a healer." I tightened my lips when she called my pup an heir of the werewolf king.

"Her life is in danger," she muttered.

"What do you mean her life is in danger? My mom was also a human and she had a healthy delivery" I snarled.

"But your father had marked her" My eyes widened with her words. "I don't know the reason why you haven't marked her yet but if you want to increase the chance of her survival then you have to mark her before her delivery"

I didn't say anything to her and looked at my mate who was sleeping peacefully. Don't know what is written in our destiny or whether I will ever be able to forgive her but I know one thing: I can't live without her.

"I survived anyhow after my parents' death but If something happens to her then I will go insane and burn this world," I said. Marry kept her hand on my shoulder.

"Believe in the moon goddess, nothing will happen to her" I nod my head at her words and kiss Aana's forehead.

"Did you forgive her for what she did with you?" Patrick asked me through mindlink.

"It's our personal matter, Patrick. It would be better if you won't interfere in it" He didn't reply and closed the mindlink. I turned my head towards him.

"Now don't be an angry bird and arrange something to eat for my mate and Marry" He gave me a look before nodding his head.

"I will also come with you," Marry muttered and looked at my side. "I have to collect herbs for the improvement of Aana's health. That's the reason why we came here and then I found you fighting with some werewolves and Aana was throwing up" I nodded my head and sat beside Aana then kept her head in my lap. I kissed her forehead lovingly while she smiled in her sleep… I rested my body with the support of a tree and closed my eyes. Soon darkness consumed me because of tiredness.

"Please believe me, Aaron. Please...'' I opened my eyes to Aana's voice, only to find her panicking and crying. She had her eyes closed, and it didn't take me long to understand that she was having a nightmare.

"He touched me, Aaron. I didn't. Please listen to me .. please" I scrunch my eyebrows, not getting what she is saying.

"She is having a nightmare, idiot… ignore all this and wake her up" Rex yelled, putting some sense into my brain. I nodded my head and shook Aana's body.

"Pearl.. Wake up, baby... Pearl "I called her loudly. She opened her eyes and looked at me then her surroundings.

"Pearl" I called her. She sat straight.

"Are you okay?" She didn't reply and hugged me.

"I didn't... why are you not believing me?"

"Pearl" I embraced her in my arms and caressed her hair lovingly.

"Please believe me... I didn't betray you" My eyes widened upon hearing her.

"Didn't betray"

"Yeah." She broke the hug and cupped my face. "I love you more than myself. Believe me, I didn't cheat on you with someone else" she muttered, breathing heavily. Her whole face turned because of crying.

"I didn't betray you" she was repeating the same words again and again.

"Okay… Okay… I believe you" I said and wiped her tears. "I believe you... Now please calm down" She is on the edge of having a panic attack. I need to calm her otherwise it will affect her and our pups' health.

"Baby… Please calm down... for our pups. Please, "I muttered. She shook her head.

"You don't believe me" She clutched my shirt. "You don't have trust in me." She was crying.

"Please take your rejection back. I will lose Alice and our pups. Please" she muttered. I remember the moment when she was begging me in the same way to take the rejection back. It didn't take me long to understand that she had the nightmare of the day when I rejected her and she is still thinking of it as the same day.

"Calm down... take a deep breath"

"You don't trust me"

"Pearl" She flinched when I called her loudly. "Take a deep breath," I said in a stern tone. Thankfully she did as I asked.

"Now release it," I asked her to repeat the same process and she did. After a while, she calmed down. I was looking at her when Shrine came towards me and licked my hand.

"She is fine" I muttered to her and caressed her fur. I turned my head and looked at Aana who was gawking at the Shrine and then she looked around.

"Where are we?" she asked. It's not the first time that Aana behaved like this. It always takes her time to come back to reality after seeing a nightmare.

"We are in a wild pack" I muttered and pulled her into a hug then kissed her forehead.

"You don't believe me. Do you?" She asked, looking into my eyes. I recalled how she was saying that she didn't betray me and asking me to take the rejection back.

"I Aaron Watson, take my rejection back" Her eyes widened upon hearing my words and we felt the same spark as before while touching each other. A smile broke on her lips.

"Mate" she called me and attached her lips with mine. I don't know why I did that. I don't know why I take my rejection back and do I believe her or not but I know one thing that she loves me.

"Then what happened on our wedding day? Why didn't she show up? Why was she wearing someone else's shirt and all those photos?" Rex picked up the same questions which always bothered me. Aana broke the kiss when I didn't respond and looked at me with teary eyes.

"Aaron" She rested her head on my chest. "You believe me that's why you took your rejection back. Right?" I went numb with her question. Yes, I do believe in our love but what about the question that was bothering me?

"Those pictures" Aana looked at my side. Before I could have asked her anything, I heard someone step approaching us.

"Marry is coming" I muttered, sensing her and Patrick's scent.

"I didn't betray you" She repeated the same word before distancing herself. Her eyes were screaming at me to trust her. My heart was telling me that she is not lying but then my mind was filled with questions whose answers indicated to me that she was lying and cheated on me before.

"Moon goddess, please help me to find the truth."
