Aaron Pov's

I was standing outside of her room, waiting for her to open the door but she didn't and then suddenly I started feeling uneasy. It didn't take me long to understand that she is not okay. I put my ear on the door and heard her breathing which was uneven.

"Fuck.. she is having a panic attack" I growled and broke the door using Rex's strength. I went inside and looked around, only to find Aana laying on the floor of the washroom, fully drenched in water.

"Pearl" I rushed towards her and pulled her into my embrace. Her whole face turned red while she was breathing heavily, closing her eyes.

"Pearl" I tapped on her cheeks and in response she clutched my shirt.

"Aaron" she called me…

"Yes… it's me.. please open your eyes"

"Please save me… Please save me from this bastard .. Please... They will rape me… Please save me. Please... I'm not liking this touch... Please save me. Please" she yelled and hugged me. I scrunched my eyebrow, not getting what she meant.

"This is not the time to entangle yourself in questions... calm her" Rex snarled, making me realise my stupidity. I moved my hand on her back to calm her.

"Relax Pearl... No one can touch you without your will when I'm with you... no one… Please calm down. Please" she broke the hug and looked at me. Tears streamed down from her eyes.

"Pearl." I cupped her face in my hand while she was trying her best to calm herself.

"Take a deep breath" She closed her eyes and did as I asked but before I could have commanded her to release it... She pushed me away.

"No... No.. no… Please don't touch me. Please" She started yelling, moving back on the ground.

"Pearl"

"No... Don't touch me. Please let me go... Please" She was continuously yelling the same thing until I stopped in my place, assuring not to touch her in any way. After a while, she calmed down a little bit when she didn't feel any touch and opened her beautiful blue eyes filled with tears. My heart twitches after seeing her like this.

"Pearl" I called her and took a small step toward her.

"Okay... I'm not coming near you... Relax" I muttered when she moved back, attaching herself to the wall. She was about to close her eyes when I held her hand.

"Don't" I hissed. She looked at our hand and then at me in fear.

"Sorry," I release her hand and sit in front of her. "Only look at your Aaron," I whispered. She stares at me breathing heavily and raises her hand to hold me. I immediately moved closer.

"Aaron?" She called me, unsure that I was standing in front of her and then she clutched my shirt tightly in both of her fists when I nodded my head.

"Aaron… Please" I put my finger over her lips, not letting her complete. She looked at my finger and then at me. I don't want her to say anything because I know this time it's important for me to stop her from thinking about her horrible memories.

"No one is here but you and me. So calm down" She looked around and then at me.

"Don't" I growled when she was about to close her eyes, knowing that if she closed her eyes then she would again recall her past and forget about me which is not good because she calms down only when she senses my presence near her. She always says my arms are the safest place for her and today I realised how much she meant those words.

"Didn't I tell you not to close your eyes" I cupped her face and wiped her precious tears.

"Take a deep breath and release it without closing your eyes' ' She nodded her head and did as I asked. I make her repeat the same process until she calms down. She rested her head on my chest.

"It's okay" I moved my hand on her back. Thankfully, she is calm but I can feel that she is drained of energy after having this freaking panic attack.

"What happened all of sudden that she had a panic attack?" I thought but didn't ask anything, knowing she will again have a panic attack thinking about her horrible past. I picked her up in my arms and took her towards the bed.

"No" I stopped her when she was about to lay down on the bed then bring one of my shirts from our room.

"Let me change your wet clothes" I said and started undressing her then made her wear my shirt. The whole time, she was silent and I know her silence is the inner turmoil which she is going through.

"Would you like to share something?" I asked, kneeling in front of her. She looked at me and a tear rolled from her eyes.

"My psychologist told me that I'm having a temporary recovery" I scrunched my eyebrow not getting what she meant.

"In simple words, I'm not healed but distracted. According to him, I can't recover until I face my past and start sharing what happened" She clamped up. I immediately held her hand in mine and kissed her knuckles before she would again start thinking about the past and have a panic attack. She looked at me and took a deep breath.

"I'm fine," She mumbled.

"What else did he say?"

"I will have this panic attack until I accept whatever happens and let it out" She whispers in low town. If I wasn't a werewolf then I wouldn't be able to hear her.

"So"

"I can't" She interrupted me and looked into my eyes. "I can't share anything. Even I shared a half-truth with Alice because remembering those things tremble my soul" I nod my head, unable to understand what I should say or do.

She lay on the bed and closed her eyes. Tears streamed down from her eyes.

"I don't think we will work out like this," she muttered.

"What do you mean?" I asked. She looks at me and then closes her eyes.

"He is right, you're my temporary distraction. I have to stay away from you until I move on from my past. I decided, before holding your hand, I have to break my tie with" She clamped up. I thought she would continue after a while but instead, she slept.

"What does she mean by breaking ties and about whom she is talking?" Rex growled in jealousy. I didn't reply and blew a blanket over her.

"We should have gotten to know her real face after that day only that she was seeing someone behind her back. Remember that day she was being rude to us like she wanted to get rid of us." Rex growled. I tightened my lips, not able to understand what I should say to him.

After that day, Aana's behaviour towards us drastically changed. She started ignoring us and whenever we asked her why she was doing this with us then she asked for time.

"Aaron" She held my hand. "I want some time alone."

"Huh?"

"After three days, we decided to mark each other. Right?" I nod my head. "Then please give me time. We will mark each other on your birthday."

"Okay… Don't mind me but why did you start using perfume?" I was not able to control my anxiety after the sudden change in her behaviour. She left my hand and turned her head in another reaction.

"Be--Because I like this perfume" She stuttered.

"Why is she lying to us?" Rex snarled.

I gave Aana time despite Rex not being okay with it. he was forcing me to ask her the reason behind her behaviour but I fought with my wolf for her. We didn't want to doubt her but she was giving us all the reason not to trust her. Talking with someone else overnight, thinking we slept. maintaining distance from us, not letting us touch her. Going home early in the morning and returning late but I ignored everything and wanted to give her the time that she asked for but then she proved that we shouldn't trust anyone blindly as we trust her.

Rex And I were ignoring every signal that Aana was betraying us until we felt pain... The pain of betrayal, just a day before my birthday or say our marking ceremony. Tears rolled from my eyes remembering that horrible day of my life. We felt through mate bond that she is with someone else.

"Still we decided to believe her '' Rex whimpered. We felt through our mate's bond that she was with someone else or say she was close to someone else, cheating on us behind our backs and despite everything we chose to wait for her but then we got worried when she didn't return the day till midnight. I called her continuously but she didn't pick up my single call.

"We were searching for her in the whole town thinking that she might not be okay while calling her continuously and in response what she did? She messaged us that she is fine and would call us back when she will get time" Rex snarled. I could feel he was in agony because of Aana's betrayal. I remember I tried to call her after receiving her message but it was switched off.

Despite everything, I threw the big party for our engagement ceremony at the same place where we proposed to her. I had so many beautiful memories with her at this place. This is also the place where we made love for the first time. All my doubts that she is cheating on us vanish when I remember every moment we spend here.

I also invited Patrick to the party. So that he would be here with me when I marked Aana after every human left the party. I was so excited but my entire expectation of a happy life crashed when she didn't show up the entire day.

Everyone left the venue except Patrick when nothing happened as she didn't show up the entire night but still, we were waiting for her in the hope that she would arrive. We were hoping that she would explain why she is late or what happened last night. Where was she and why did we feel that pain? Why didn't she pick up my call? Why did she switch off her phone after dropping the message? Why did she make my birthday the worst day of my life? Why is she not with me when I'm losing myself with every passing second?

There were lots of questions in my mind but there was not a single answer and how could it be when the answerer didn't show up? As time passes, all questions and doubts fade and I become edgy, thinking if she is okay or not. I was about to go and search for her when the clock passed twelve. That's when Patrick came to me and passed me an envelope. He told me that he found that parcel on the door with a note "Watch your mate in someone's arms werewolves King Aaron Smith - happy birthday"

I was dumbstruck when I read that note because except for my pack members, there are only rare people who know me as my werewolf identity. Hell, I even tell Aana that I'm the heir of the previous werewolves kind and Alpha of the Wild pack because I left that world a long ago. Don't want to be part of it and live my life peacefully with Aana.

I opened the envelope, it had some photos and the moment I saw them, I felt like the ground slipped from my feet. Those photos fell from my hand and tears streamed down from my eyes.

It was Aana's photos and she was kissing someone. I clearly remember how I sat on the ground and again looked at those photos, in the hope that they were all photoshopped but not that they were all real. She broke my and Rex's heart and trust that day. She broke us by cheating on us behind her back. Despite loving her with everything we had, she chose someone else.

"you remember everything well yet you are asking me to forgive her. How? She cheated on us, Aaron. We saw the picture in which she was sleeping in someone else's arms and in some pictures, she was kissing that man. anyone can say that it includes her will by looking at her face which had a beautiful smile and her eyes were closed like she was living in that moment" I closed my eyes upon hearing Rex.

"For a second, for our pups, I can forgive her but we lose Alice. She died because of that whore"

"Rex" I growled when he used an absurd word for my girl.

"I can't forgive her… I can't" He growled and stood up from the ground, going back to Aana. After that, I didn't say a word to him. I don't have anything to say because I know he is not wrong. I can't force him to forgive her when I still haven't forgotten what she did with us.

My eyes widened when we reached near Aana. A tiger was standing in front of her. She was standing terrified while both of her hands were on her baby bump.

"Moon Goddess, Please help me… I know you love me but I don't want to die this soon" I tightened my lips upon hearing her and took control from Rex.

"Why did you take control? I will kill that tiger if she touches a single strand of our mate" he growled.

"It's not required" I muttered and ran towards Aana.

"Please leave me... I want to give birth to my pups. You can eat me after that" She mumbled with a shaky voice. I can see how afraid she is but for our pups. She doesn't care about her life but wanted to give birth to our pups before dying.

"It is true that no one can understand the love of a mother. Cardinal Mermillod said it right that a mother is she who can take the place of all others but whose place no one else can take.” I thought and went near the tiger.

"Shrine" she turned her head towards me with a growl but the moment she saw me, she turned into a puppy who saw her master after a long time. I held her when she almost jumped on me.

"You're not a cub anymore… Have some mercy on your best friend, Shrine " I chuckled and rubbed her fur. She hopped down from me and licked my face, making me laugh. My eyes went to Aana who was staring at her with widened eyes.

"Aaron... He will bi--bite you" She stuttered and picked the branch of the tree from the ground.

"It's she, not he and why did you pick that branch? Don't tell me you thought to hit her with a branch to protect me "I laughed at her innocence.

"Rex, what are you doing? Take control from Aaron. She can harm you both" I stopped laughing when she started panicking with the thought that the Shrine would hurt me.

"Pearl calm down. She will not hurt me. She has been with me since she was one month old. She is like my female best friend" Her face paled upon hearing me. She looked at me and then turned her head toward the Shrine.

"Don't tell me that you're now jealous of the Shrine?" I asked with a grin. She rolled her eyes.

"Can you blame me when she is closer to you than I?" I look at her dumb-headed, not able to believe that she was jealous of Shrine in real.

"You're impossible" I laughed after a while to which she pouted.

"You're looking so cute with these chubby cheeks. I will make sure that you don't lose a single pound after post-delivery and if you do then I will double your diet"

"You're kidding me" She looked at me with an open mouth.

"You will get to know soon" I winked and chuckled when Shrine licked my cheeks to get attention.

"She is my mate," I whispered in her ear. She looked at me and then turned her head towards Aana who moved back in fear, attaching her body with a tree.

I stood up when Shrine took her steps towards Aana. No... I'm not afraid that she will attack them but accidents can happen. My eyes grew wider when I realised what Shrine is about to do. I opened my mouth to stop her but it was too late and the next thing I heard was Aana's scream.
