Chapter 152: Chapter 152
Grain laughed Jason to scorn as he ran off in the direction he had pointed. Then he decided to go in search of Nancy but all the rooms seemed alike and there was no way he could continue going from one room to the other in search of a patient. He would soon be found out and Jason could be back anytime soon looking for him.
He decided that if it was impossible to find Nancy that day, then they could try the following day but since he was there, he could at least kill Jason.
He decided that rather than looking for Nancy, he would stay and wait for Jason Campbell.
He got out the sharp short knife that he always had hidden in his waist.
The dagger was intact.
As soon as Jason came, he was going to stab him in his stomach and heart, making sure that the injuries were fatal that even if he did not die immediately, he was sure to die because no medicine would help him this time,he might even open his old wounds for good measure.
While waiting for him though, Grain decided that it was time he called Maze and intimated him on the recent developments.
'I was just about to call you Maze', Grain said as he brought out his cell phone to call Maze and saw his incoming call.
'Nancy's room was changed. Hope you were not caught?'
'I was but I managed to wriggle out of the situation.What is the situation with you there?'
'I managed to find out that her room was switched and I went ahead irrespective of the security to do the job for which we came here!'
'You mean you were able to kill Nancy?'
'I got the oxygen off her, if that is what you are asking and she was gasping for breath when I escaped. I am certain that she is dead' now because all their focus was how to stop me rather than how to save the vegetable called Nancy. Anyways, she got what was coming to her'.
'I am lying in wait for Jason. I want to stab him to death. That was what I planned when I noticed Nancy had been taken to another ward and it might be impossible for me to locate her soonest. Do, do we still meet at our rendezvous?'
'There might be a slight change of plans. I am up here in the central air conditioning room, trying to disable the fan and see if I can escape because I know that the gates will not be opened to anyone going out until they're properly identified and searched.
You might want to come there as well so that we can see how we will escape through this route because by the time you are through with Jason, you will also be a wanted man'.
'Alright then, the central air conditioning room it is but could you tell me how to locate it?'
Maze described it to him and hung up.
'Samuel Park?'
He did not answer at first but turned round to find Jason behind him. He didn't know how long he had been there but he decided to brave it out.
'Is your name no longer Samuel Park? You gave that to me as your name remember?'
'Yes, yes. You took me by surprise. I had not expected to see you behind me. But why are you here, you were supposed to go after the doctor so that you and I can reach an agreement'.
'What possible agreement could I reach with a murderer and a criminal like you?'
Hearing that, Grain knew that his bubble had popped.
He quickly got hold of Jason and brought out his dagger to stab him but some police officers came out and took snapshots of him and then apprehended him.
He had been caught red handed. He had no way of explaining himself out of it.
'I knew that you were lying. How could you haveistakenly knocked up an oxygen tube? I knew you were there on an operation but what I didn't know was if you were doing it under pressure of some sort or you were a member of Maze's gang.
Your eyes also gave you away
It was too shrewd and sharp for someone who was totally innocent like you claimed. I must admit that you nearly got me fooled but I had to make sure so I doubled back here and saw you laugh and speak to yourself and now we heard you speaking to Maze and we know where he is. Do as you are cuffed, we shall go for him as well.
It was not easy hearing what you had done to Nancy but I know that there are doctors there to salvage the situation and I hope for your sake that they do because if not, I shall be your worst nightmare.
You wanted to stab me to death? Well you shall be seeing your own death with your own eyes'.
Grain could not believe that he had been outsmarted. He had thought that he was the one in charge of the game but how had the tables turned? Where had he messed it up?
He remembered what Wind, his boss had told him about leaving Maze to take the fall bit he could not do that now because he had been caught red handed wanting to stab Campbell and they had also overheard his conversation with Maze.
Jason asked the authorities to take over, some went to the central room to apprehend Maze while Jason ran to Nancy's ward. He had had to hold himself in check while listening to the fool's conversation. He had felt inclined to run of to Nancy's ward immediately to find out what was going on but part of his victory was making sure that these murderers were apprehended and given what was due to them else he would have failed Nancy.
His presence would also not have done anything at that time, so he decided to do what he could and trust that the doctors would take care of Nancy, afterall, it was their specialty.
Now though, he raced to the love of his life with heart thumping. He knew that if anything happened to Nancy, then he would just die as well.
